Yuliana, I can’t believe it! You have been here for almost 2 months already!
I know! Time really flies.
So how is everything going for you so far?
So far, excellent. You know I got involved in that mentorship program, right?
We have done 3 so far, but I have 7 more to go.
Yes. Natalia told me all about it. I hear you got an excellent mentor.
How many sessions will you have with her?
Yes. She has been a really big help.
What kinds of things have you been discussing?
In the beginning, we discussed everyday topics such as temporary housing and
my civic responsibilities.

Sounds very interesting. What other topics will you be covering in future sessions?
I think we’ll be talking about looking for a job and my credentials.
Great! But what do you mean by credentials?
What have you learned about searching for a job in Canada?
My credentials include my education and work experience. Basically anything
that may qualify me to do a job.
For one thing, I shouldn’t depend on job postings. This is because most jobs in
Canada are not advertised. In our next session we’re going to talk more about this.
It’s true. I got my lost 2 jobs through friends who knew someone who worked at a
company I wanted to work for.
Oh no! Look at the time! I have to run. I’ve got an appointment with my bank to
discuss the CMHC.
The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation? Call me later and let me know
how it went!
Will do! See you later!
