Maurice Prout is a professor and director at Widener University in Pennsylvania, where one of the specific areas he has focused on for many years is cognitive-behavioral theory. Maurice Prout also belongs to the the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI). Psychotherapy Integration seeks to take bits and pieces from many different theoretical approaches to understanding and treating mental health and combine them, in order to create a more efficient means of helping people.

Approaches
There are four main approaches to individual therapy which include
1. Psychodynamic therapy is primary key based on psychoanalytic theory, shamshan that when a patient has insight into early relationships and experiences as the source of his or her problems they can be resolved.
2. Humanistic therapy is on the patient’s view of the world and he is your heart problems. The goal is to help patients realise their full potential through the therapies genuineness unconditional positive regard which fosters the patient’s sense of self-worth and sympathetic understanding of patients point of view. Clarify his or her own feelings and choices.
3. Behaviour therapy does not foster awareness but emphasizes the principles of learning with positive or negative reinforcement and observational modelling
4. Cognitive therapy focuses on identifying and correcting distorted thinking patterns that can be to emotional distress and problem behaviours. Cognitive therapies believe that patients change their behaviour by changing their maladaptive thinking about themselves and their experiences. Patients are taught problem solving skills and stress reducing methods. The learning that their psychological difficulties or problems can be solved through cognitive processing.

The present research was conducted (a) to describe the socio-demographic information of
psychotherapist providing therapy to patients of anxiety disorder (b) to examine the therapeutic interaction on
various variables of therapeutic participation, resistance and dysphoric concern (related to patient’s
responses), and directive support for the patients (variable related to his/herself). It was hypothesized that
therapist would rate significantly high on therapeutic interaction (therapeutic participation, directive support,
resistance and dysphoric concerns) with anxiety patient. Sample comprised of thirty five psychotherapist
providing therapy to diagnosed anxiety patients in OPD (Outdoor patient department). Psychotherapy Process
Inventory was administered to assess perception of therapeutic interaction of psychotherapist. Descriptive
statistics and one sample t test were calculated for the analysis of data. Results revealed that most of the
therapists, possessed MS degree in Clinical Psychology. Results indicate that there is a significant high rating
on therapeutic interaction, therapeutic participation, directive support, resistance and dysphoric concern of the
psychotherapist who are providing therapy to the anxiety patients. Therapeutic interaction is perceived by the
therapist as supportive, whereas participation, resistance and dysphoric concerns of the patients were also
perceived high by the therapist in initial sessions. Findings will be helpful for psychologist and other
professionals to plan the therapeutic interventions for anxiety patients

Techniques of Therapy
Psychoanalytic therapy
The key techniques are interpretation, dream analysis, free association, analysis of resistance, analysis of transference, and countertransference. Techniques are designed to help clients gain access to their unconscious conflicts, which leads to insight and eventual assimilation of new material by the ego.
Adlerian therapy
Adlerians pay more attention to the subjective experiences of clients than to using techniques. Some techniques include gathering life-history data (family constellation, early recollections, personal priorities), sharing interpretations with clients, offering encouragement, and assisting clients in searching for new possibilities.
Existential therapy
Few techniques flow from this approach because it stresses understanding first and technique second. The therapist can borrow techniques from other approaches and incorporate them in an existential framework. Diagnosis, testing, and external measurements are not deemed important. Issues addressed are freedom and responsibility, isolation and relationships, meaning and meaninglessness, living and dying.
Person-centered therapy
This approach uses few techniques but stresses the attitudes of the therapist and a “way of being.” Therapists strive for active listening, reflection of feelings, clarification, “being there” for the client, and focusing on the moment-to-moment experiencing of the client. This model does not include diagnostic testing, interpretation, taking a case history, or questioning or probing for information.
Gestalt therapy
A wide range of experiments are designed to intensify experiencing and to integrate conflicting feelings. Experiments are co-created by therapist and client through an I/Thou dialogue. Therapists have latitude to creatively invent their own experiments. Formal diagnosis and testing are not a required part of therapy.
Behavior therapy
The main techniques are reinforcement, shaping, modeling, systematic desensitization, relaxation methods, flooding, eye movement and desensitization reprocessing, cognitive restructuring, social skills training, self-management programs, mindfulness and acceptance methods, behavioral rehearsal, and coaching. Recomendações da OMS sobre cuidados maternos e neonatais para uma experiência pós-natal positiva.
Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. Uma experiência pós-natal positiva é definida como aquela em que as mulheres, pessoas que gestam, os recém-nascidos, os casais, os pais, os cuidadores e as famílias recebem informação consistente, garantia e apoio de profissionais de saúde motivados; e onde um sistema de saúde flexível e com recursos reconheça as necessidades das mulheres e dos bebês e respeite o seu contexto cultural.
Estas diretrizes consolidadas apresentam algumas recomendações novas e já bem fundamentadas sobre cuidados pós-natais de rotina para mulheres e neonatos que recebem cuidados no pós-parto em unidades de saúde ou na comunidade, independentemente dos recursos disponíveis.
É fornecido um conjunto abrangente de recomendações para cuidados durante o período puerperal, com ênfase nos cuidados essenciais que todas as mulheres e recém-nascidos devem receber, e com a devida atenção à qualidade dos cuidados; isto é, a entrega e a experiência do cuidado recebido. Estas diretrizes atualizam e ampliam as recomendações da OMS de 2014 sobre cuidados pós-natais da mãe e do recém-nascido e complementam as atuais diretrizes da OMS sobre a gestão de complicações pós-natais.
O estabelecimento da amamentação e o manejo das principais intercorrências é contemplada.

What is Psychotherapy Integration?
- 2. Introduction Maurice Prout is a professor and director at Widener University in Pennsylvania, where one of the specific areas he has focused on for many years is cognitive- behavioral theory. Maurice Prout also belongs to the the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI). Psychotherapy Integration seeks to take bits and pieces from many different theoretical approaches to understanding and treating mental health and combine them, in order to create a more efficient means of helping people. Psychotherapy Integration seeks an open-ended approach to treating various disorders, instead of relying on a single-school approach to therapy.

Psychotherapy Integration While different pathways are taken to recovery, certain steps stay the same - for example, a patient still needs to talk about their difficulties, and must attempt to confront their problems, but they can do this in different ways. One common practice is called Assimilation Integration, which involves using one proven method of therapy, while also including elements of other therapeutic techniques. One style of therapy cannot fit every patient, which is why this approach is so valuable. SEPI is just one example of an organization that brings researchers and therapists together to refine the craft of helping people with mental health issues.
