and those without PTSD. LH scores in PTSD positive participants were
significantly higher than those whom are non PTSD. This suggest that there is a
strong association between high levels of LH and PTSD in battered women.
Furthermore, it was discovered that LH is strongly associated with early cultural
influence, especially in male dominated backgrounds. Women who are raised in
cultures and educational background that promote female submissiveness and
prejudice against women are more likely to develop PTSD and depression as a
result of male violence. Depression is especially highly correlated with PTSD.
Sexual violence was the strongest predictor of PTSD, whereas physical violence
alone wasn t significantly correlated. History of child abuse increases LH and
therefore, increasingthe risk of depression and PTSD. In conclusion, this study
suggests that LH in battered women is associated both with prolonged exposure to
violence and other risk factors outside of the abusive relationship, and that the LH

His father, Sir William Penn was an admiral and a landowner, and his mother
Margaret Jasper Vanderschuren was a merchant s daughter. Penn attended Christ
Church College (University of Oxford) in 1660, but was expelled after making a

understand the importance of college and I think of it a little differently than
before. I know that I need to work hard and study hard to be able to succeed at my
fullest potential in college. I have had a few experiences in my life that have
helped me realize that I need to work hard to get the output which I was hoping for
in the beginning. I ve seen my sister diagnosed with diabetes her first week of high
school, I ve witnessed my dad struggling through cancer and conquering it, and I
have made it through 6 month of grueling and time consuming physical therapy to
make it so I could use my shoulder again. Through these experiences my
perspective about hard work and perseverance has changed dramatically, and for
that I am thankful. My dad was diagnosed with cancer about 5 years ago. I was in
middle school so I knew enough to understand that it was a very serious and scary
thing which not all people can defeat. I had a very frightening realization that he
could die and I might only have a limited time left with him. When he started to
receive the chemotherapy treatments I knew that I had to step up and help out. This

The effectiveness of HCI can also be measured by doing tests on that HCI to see
how much errors it has, and after doing tests if the results show that it has a lot of
errors then that HCI will not be a very effective. This is because a lot of errors on a
HCI can make the user slow down when interacting with the HCI, but if there are not
that much errors then it can be known as an effective HCI, because the user can use it

Reflective Essay On Professional Communication
In the healthcare world, effective and concise communication is a key building block
in forming successful patient/practitioner therapeutic relationships. Not only does a
practitioner have to communicate diligently but converse with all ages. Because good
patient physician communication improves patient care and satisfaction (Ha
Longnecker, 2010, p1). This essay will critically analyse a specific situation in which
professional communicationskills were not adhered to, and how this analysis will be
beneficial for becoming a better health care professional.
The situation which stimulated the need for this analysis occurred when I was at
home, practicing various techniques on my Mother (47 years old) and my brother
Thomas (14 years old). Whether it was an exercise movement or a position for an
MET, I found Thomas took the most time to explain this to. The amount of technical
information I needed to give was highly dependent on the patients age and exposure
to osteopathic manual practices.
From analysing the situation, it was clear I was getting frustrated as I had to take
more time than what I had anticipated for Thomas. He would get confused about
what I was asking of him and I would have to repeat the instructions again. I am so
used to working with other students in my practical class who already understood the
movements, that I forgot about the level of knowledge and competence of patients
