The student learned several new technologies in the process of creating a film product. They found Final Cut Pro challenging to use at first but learned how to cut and split video clips by watching tutorials. Editing with transitions and effects took practice. The camera was easy to use but the battery life was short. The tripod worked well but lacked wheels for mobility during shoots. The Apple computer was difficult to adjust to initially due to different keyboard shortcuts. Blogger also required learning how to write, format and upload content to blogs. Overall the student feels they gained valuable skills in video editing, camera operation, computer use and blogging.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM
THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS
PRODUCT?

2. FINAL CUT PRO 7
Final Cut Pro v7 – we first used this type of editing software when
we first started our film product we found it hard to cut/split any
of the video or audio clips. So we had to search for instructions
on YouTube which showed us what buttons we had to press to
split the clip. When we tried to edit our film Final Cut Pro crashed
and weren’t allowing us to carry on doing our product.
3. EDITING
Editing – as we got used to Final Cut we started to experiment
with it more using transitions, fades, cuts and effects. We didn't’t
use much transitions or fades in our film product as we felt like it
weren’t suitable to go in an action scene, it slows the pace down
of the video which we did’t want. We wanted a high intensity
paced film trailer.
4. CAMERA AND TRIPOD
Camera and Tripod – we used a Nikon D5100 to film our film
product. When we first started to use the camera we only knew
how to take pictures, we couldn’t find out how to record. So
solved this issue by asking a friend who had experience on using
cameras. After that it was very easy to use while filming and it
was also very quick to turn on. The only fault that we had about
the camera was that the battery life weren’t very good it ran out
quite quickly. The tripod was easy to set up and use but the only
problem with it was that there weren't any wheels to move it
about with the actors. If it was to have wheels it would of made
the shots better and more exciting.
5. APPLE MAC COMPUTER
Apple Mac Computer – we had to use the Apple Mac for editing
and for also writing in our blogs. Individually I found it difficult to
use the Apple Mac’s at first as I didn’t have any experience at all
using them. Some of the keys on the keyboard are different and
also how to copy, cut and paste things are also different to a
normal windows computer that I use in and out of school. A few
times that we tried to edit our film Final Cut Pro crashed and
weren’t allowing us to complete the whole product. The good
bits about using an Apple Mac is that they are that it loads files
and documents fast so we could get straight on with the work.
6. BLOGGER
Blogger – with blogger I found it quite difficult to view my blog
and also I didn’t know where to start writing my blogs so I needed
help from the teacher from that. I also had trouble putting
pictures and videos onto some of my blogs as I didn’t know how
to do it. The best part about Blogger is that its accessibility is easy
and also its free.
7. SKILLS GAINED
Skills Gained – I feel like that I have gained skills from each of
these technologies. With Final Cut Pro I think that I have gained
on how to import clips, cut clips and also add text into the
product. With the Camera and Tripod I felt like I have gained on
how to position the camera in the correct place in specific
scenes and also how to focus and record. With the Apple Mac
Computer I've gained on how to use the basic tools and also
how to copy and paste text, documents or files. With Blogger, I
think that I have improved a lot on the website as I know how to
do most things on there like write a blog, upload
pictures, change my template of the blog and also how to view
other peoples blogs.
