There are billions of solar systems in the constantly expanding universe. Our galaxy alone contains about 100 million solar systems including our own. For a system to be considered a solar system it must have at least one star and one or more orbiting planets or astronomical objects. While we have not found definitive proof of life elsewhere, there are many solar systems like ours that could support life, such as the system containing the star PSR1257+12 and its three orbiting planets. Overall, much remains unknown about other solar systems, but continued discovery will reveal more about the possibilities that exist in our vast universe.

2. Wait, HOW many?!?!
There are many, many solar systems In our
universe. Billions upon billions of them actually.
And the universe is constantly expanding and
expanding, so think of all the solar systems
there are. That’s a lot!

3. Our galaxy alone.
In just our galaxy alone, there are about one
hundred million solar systems. Ours included.

4. What makes a solar system?
There are many, many solar systems in our
universe, but what makes one? For a solar
system to truly be “out of this wurld” it needs to
have at least one star, and one or more planets
or other astronomical objects.

5. What makes a planet?
A planet needs to have the “Pac-Man Effect”,
which is when a planet has a strong enough
gravitational pull, so as it can attract smaller
objects into it’s orbit. It also needs to have the
sufficient gravity to be a giant, round, orb shape,
just like Justin Bieber!

6. Is there life out there?
A commonly asked question in the world of
space science is: “Is there life on other
planets?” We still do not know, though there are
certainty many theories on this topic. Yes, no,
maybe so are some of them.

7. Here’s one!
There are, like I said, many, many solar systems
in our galaxy. One of them is a solar system
with a star called PSR1257+12. There are three
planets orbiting it called PSR1257+12 A,B, and
C. This shows that there are many solar
systems that could very well be like ours.

8. Not yet, but maybe.
Even with all our attempts, we still have not
found any life on other planets. There have
been many people saying they saw U.F.O.s
(Unidentified Flying Objects) and claimed them
to be alien space crafts. These eyewitness
accounts are very unreliable and often a tall tale
to get attention.

9. Get to the point!
Well, I guess my point is that we still don’t know
very much about other solar systems, but there
are unlimited possibilities. HEWW YEAH! There
are many, many discoveries to be made about
our universe. (AND SOLAR SYSTEMS)
