Research shows (Leeson, 2011) that learners are much more likely to engage in the use of an eportfolio to support their formal education and training if they know that they will be able to use their eportfolio for beyond their course. Thinking about how learners will be able to use and access their eportfolio beyond their studies is very important, but it also a difficult issue to solve for many institutions. This hands-on workshop will look at why learners should be using their eportfolio beyond formal study and what they can do with their eportfolio. It will also look at how they can get their eportfolio out of a formal institution’s system and where they can house it. The workshop will be a combination of ideas from the workshop facilitator’s experience, as well as draw on the questions and experiences of the participants in the workshop which will lead to new ideas, solutions and questions.
