ISO14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems. It defines the components and requirements of an EMS, including an environmental policy, compliance procedures, improvement programs, and reviews. Certification demonstrates responsible environmental practices, enhances reputation, and is becoming a prerequisite in many industries. The standard helps organizations protect the environment, prevent pollution, and improve performance through planning, implementation, reviews, and continual improvement.
An environmental management system (EMS) can help companies reduce costs by decreasing waste and improving processes, gain a competitive advantage, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and improve public image. There are three approaches to implementing an EMS: developing an in-house system, following the ISO 14001 international standard or EMAS, or pursuing external certification under these standards. External certification provides credibility and discipline that may not be achieved otherwise, and is desirable when buyers require it, to enhance reputation, or enter new markets where the environment is a priority. An effective EMS includes commitment from senior management, designating an overseer, setting policy and objectives, assessing impacts, training staff, record keeping, and auditing.

This document provides an overview of environmental management. It defines an environmental management system and lists its key elements. It describes tools for environmental management like environmental impact assessments and life cycle assessments. It outlines relevant environmental legislation. It explains that an environmental management system documents policies, processes, and controls to create environmentally friendly products and meet requirements. The document lists benefits of environmental management systems and guidelines for implementation, including establishing objectives and involving management.
This document discusses environmental management systems and cleaner production. It begins by defining an environmental management system as a systematic approach to managing an organization's environmental programs. The goals of an EMS are to increase compliance with environmental regulations and reduce waste. It then outlines a hierarchy for environmental management with source reduction and recycling at the top. Various source reduction techniques are listed. It also discusses process optimization, reuse, recycling, recovery, and disposal. Finally, it provides an overview of the steps involved in a cleaner production assessment, including planning, assessment, feasibility analysis, implementation, and monitoring.

- A soft drink manufacturing company in Kerala, India began dumping foul-smelling waste slurry onto nearby land in 2002, contaminating the local water supply and affecting over 1,000 families in surrounding villages within a 5 km radius.
- The local tribal communities have been peacefully protesting to demand that the factory be closed, as it produces over 39 lakh ml of beverages daily.
- While the slurry was initially sold as fertilizer, buyers stopped purchasing it once they realized it was contaminated, so the company began dumping it illegally.

Redefining brain tumor segmentation: a cutting-edge convolutional neural netw...IJECEIAES
Medical image analysis has witnessed significant advancements with deep learning techniques. In the domain of brain tumor segmentation, the ability to
precisely delineate tumor boundaries from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
scans holds profound implications for diagnosis. This study presents an ensemble convolutional neural network (CNN) with transfer learning, integrating
the state-of-the-art Deeplabv3+ architecture with the ResNet18 backbone. The
model is rigorously trained and evaluated, exhibiting remarkable performance
metrics, including an impressive global accuracy of 99.286%, a high-class accuracy of 82.191%, a mean intersection over union (IoU) of 79.900%, a weighted
IoU of 98.620%, and a Boundary F1 (BF) score of 83.303%. Notably, a detailed comparative analysis with existing methods showcases the superiority of
our proposed model. These findings underscore the model’s competence in precise brain tumor localization, underscoring its potential to revolutionize medical
image analysis and enhance healthcare outcomes. This research paves the way
for future exploration and optimization of advanced CNN models in medical
imaging, emphasizing addressing false positives and resource efficiency.
CHINA’S GEO-ECONOMIC OUTREACH IN CENTRAL ASIAN COUNTRIES AND FUTURE PROSPECTjpsjournal1
The rivalry between prominent international actors for dominance over Central Asia's hydrocarbon
reserves and the ancient silk trade route, along with China's diplomatic endeavours in the area, has been
referred to as the "New Great Game." This research centres on the power struggle, considering
geopolitical, geostrategic, and geoeconomic variables. Topics including trade, political hegemony, oil
politics, and conventional and nontraditional security are all explored and explained by the researcher.
Using Mackinder's Heartland, Spykman Rimland, and Hegemonic Stability theories, examines China's role
in Central Asia. This study adheres to the empirical epistemological method and has taken care of
objectivity. This study analyze primary and secondary research documents critically to elaborate role of
china’s geo economic outreach in central Asian countries and its future prospect. China is thriving in trade,
pipeline politics, and winning states, according to this study, thanks to important instruments like the
Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Belt and Road Economic Initiative. According to this study,
China is seeing significant success in commerce, pipeline politics, and gaining influence on other
governments. This success may be attributed to the effective utilisation of key tools such as the Shanghai
Cooperation Organisation and the Belt and Road Economic Initiative.

environmental policy
“The Management of Westralian Engineering regards protection of the environment to be an
important aspect of our operations and necessary element of good corporate citizenship.”
Our Environment Management System will operate together with our Quality Assurance and Occupational
Health and Safety Systems to control and minimize the environmental impact of all organisational activities.
This will be achieved by extending our existing control over company processes to include consideration of
environmental impact.
• To comply with and exceed the level of environmental performance required by regulation or client specification.
• To establish and maintain environmental responsible waste management and waste disposal practices.
• To eliminate harm to flora and fauna, identify sensitive areas or heritage considerations and instigate appropriate
protective measures and on completion restore the site to original condition.
• To store all materials in a manner that reduces their potential release to the atmosphere, soil or water.
• To establish procedures for the safe containment of hazardous materials and for appropriate action in the event of
spillages.
• To reduce the potential for environmental harm in emergency situations by responding effectively to emergencies using
trained personnel and established emergency plans.
• To eliminate the use of ozone depleting substances such as CFC’s or Halon.
• To ensure that purchasing procedures give appropriate consideration to potentially deleterious effects of purchases.
• To ensure an ongoing review of work practices and equipment to minimize energy use and reduce waste.
• To ensure that subcontractors and suppliers conform to relevant requirements of our Environmental Policy.
• To promote the adoption of sound environmental management.
