Week of:  Tuesday, October 5, 2010<br />EnthusiasmAlmost 8 weeks down with many more learning-filled weeks to go!  <br />Renew Value of the week: <br />For the next two weeks as we work to reset our culture—let’s focus on infusing our classrooms with healthy doses of J-factor.  Please begin incorporating cheers, songs, chants, and movement into your day.  Beginning Wednesday, we’ll begin our day with class cheers during morning line-up.   I like the idea of focusing on 1 ReNEW value for a couple of weeks.  I’ll be coming around with the Flip Cam to get footage of classrooms oozing with Enthusiasm.  I’m going to begin with Riley and the Kindergarten Team, you guys do a phenomenal job with class chants and songs!  <br />Guided Reading Groups and Centers<br />Please complete the Guided Reading Groups and Centers document by 3 PM Friday afternoon.  As we have completed our first wave of STEP, the true work begins.  For the rest of the school year, our goal will be to ensure we are creating purposeful centers based on student data.  Please use your data to complete this document and most importantly, please update your STEP data walls in your classroom.  Please reach out if you need assistance completing this document.  <br />Recess and Lunch Duty<br />Co-teachers will be pulled for assistance with recess duty for grades 1 -2 effective Tuesday, October 5, 2010.  I am most thankful for the assistance of Alex, Brittney, and Jess C., and their willingness to adjust their schedules.  The TA’s in Kinder classrooms and I are able to cover Kindergarten recess, but we are without additional adults during 1st and 2nd grade recess.  <br />Bus Duty<br />Reminder:  We are all pulling bus duty to ensure the safety of all students.  Once your students are on the bus, please monitor the areas near the buses.  We should remain on duty until the buses leave our campus.<br />This Week’s Schedule<br />We will meet tomorrow during the last 30 minutes of planning to discuss the discipline protocol and meet our new Behavior Interventionist.
