Flashcards in the Greek public school third grade can be used in numerous ways and they can prove to be life-saviors with early-finishers! During the lesson, we normally use them to revise the letters of the alphabet that we have already learnt and introduce the new ones, along with the new vocabulary that accompanies them! Yesterday, however, we used them to revise letters and vocabulary in a fun way! To be more precise, we divided the whiteboard in two parts. Each part had the same number of flashcards. The learners were supposed to match the picture with the word! The learner who was the first to finish correctly the matching task, won some stickers!

We also did a printingtest on writingname, letters and numbers with proper formation. oIn Math, we did comparingnumbers to ten (greater, less, same) and reviewingfor the Chapter four test. *Reminders* o Practice the high frequencyword cards. Students shouldbe able to read them within five seconds, not using sounds. Our third set comes out soon! o Now that winter has arrived, please remind your childto wear warm clothing. If they wear snowboots to school, they shouldbring other shoes in the bookbag for daily use. o Students shouldbe readingMonday through Thursday. Please remember to read and sign the journal. o Please remember to send in snack. A calendar is also on the website. We are runninglow on the extra buffet leftover items. Coming Up: o In Reading, the students will be reviewing and taking the Unit Four test. A review packet is enclosed in the folder for you to keep at home. o In Math, the students will be completing Chapter Four. o Hopefully we will be able to move onto the Earth and soil during Science if no weather interruptions. o Students are working on writing simple decodable words using the sounds we have learned.
