Peek at the Week:
o This week in Reading, we started our chapter that
focused on short vowel sound of the letter “i”
after we completed our sound instruction of the
letter /m/.
o Our new high frequency words are “said, can,
me”.
o During Math, we played Monster Squeeze,
worked with measuring items with pennies and
cubes, and used pan balances.
o In Science, we discussed what animals need and
birds.
o The students were introduced to the letters Mm/Ii
in handwriting.
o We also started intense Guided Reading in small
groups. Please make sure you read the book and
return the book, journal and pointer finger!
Coming Up:
o Next week in reading, we will finish
working on the short vowel /i/.
Students will work on blending it with
the other sounds we know (m, d, s, n
and a.
o In math, we will continue to explore
Unit Four. The students will make
patterns and continue counting when
they are interrupted. They will also
learn how to use a calculator.
o During Science the students will be
discussing how animals grow and
change as they mature.

 No School on Thursday, November 24,
Friday, November 25, Monday November
28.
 Remember to return the reading
envelope!

o Skip counting by tens and fives
o High frequency words
o Phone Number, birthday and days of
