Shannon O'Connell recently received her BA from Empire State College. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, boating, and camping. Her content area is Earth Science and she was previously in the housing market designing and selling log homes until 2008. She then returned to school to complete her BA and is now pursuing a MAT to become a teacher.

1. Greetings!
My name is Shannon O’Connell and I
recently received my BA from Empire State
College.
This is me and my father at graduation
this past spring.
I enjoy an array of outdoor activities including
hiking, boating, kayaking, traveling and camping.

2. My content area within the MAT program is Earth Science.
Professionally speaking, I was previously in
the housing market designing and selling
log homes…that is, until the fall of the
market around 2008.
It was at that time I decided to return
to my passion of Art and Earth science
and complete my BA through Empire
State College.
I have had many inspiring instructors
that led me to the desired field of
teaching.

5. Thus far, I have found this class to be very different from my other classes!
Here’s what I look like as an avatar!

6. After much, much practice, I learned how to speak so you all can hear me!

7. I also made sure I will be able to hear all of you through testing my listening.

8. Then, I was off to discover the ISLAND!!!
This is me learning how to find friends who are also visiting the island.

9. I finally found a friend on the island, but she appeared to be resting.

10. Then I came across our cool Science A-Frame building!

11. What a great view of the night stars from the A-Frame building and
neighboring dome-roof pods!

12. I found task boards that I’m sure we’ll be revisiting!
I don’t want to get ahead of myself here… so I am going to wish you all
