Webinos is an industry-driven initiative aimed at developing a secure web operating system for application delivery across various devices, leveraging HTML as a universal standard. It focuses on enabling portable and secure web applications in domains like mobile, home, and automotive, and emphasizes cross-platform compatibility and security. The project, backed by 22 founding partners, aims for a first platform release and initial applications within 1.5 years of launch.
