Editor's Notes
Hello and welcome to our webinar – Unlocking the Power of Ecommerce Product Recommendations to Boost Conversions. Hi I am Monal Patel from Unbxd and this is the latest in our ongoing Unbxd Webinar series where we talk about very specific topics that help online retailers solve challenges and identify opportunity to grow their business.
Our webinar series comes with different topics with different focus and today we come to you to talk about Ecommerce Product Recommendations
For those who are new to our Webinar series let me give you a quick overview about Unbxd
We are a California based company with 1200+ customers globally and 300+ here in the US. What makes us unique is that we have solved some of the site-search problems that were not solved before, our solution is customized for all our customers regardless of their size and we are very competitive in our services.
Not only the number of product options are increasing, the number of options to buy it from are also increasing.
Too many options often lead to confusion.
Another interesting observation – and it’s been seen and often talked & written about – is that we are irrational buyers. Many a times our decisions to buy something is based on others. There have been many articles and study that points that how shoppers are copycats.
Qi Wang, associate professor of marketing at Binghamton University who did a study on shoppers behaviour attribute it to "observational behavior," or the tendency of people to adopt the same habits and tendencies as peers.
If you are interested in this topic you can also read a book called I’ll have what she’s having: Mapping social behavior by Mark Earls which covers this topic in more detail.
