Mining the Web of Linked Data with RapidMinerHeiko Paulheim
Lots of data from different domains is published as Linked Open Data. While there are quite a few browsers for that data, as well as intelligent tools for particular purposes, a versatile tool for deriving additional knowledge by mining the Web of Linked Data is still missing. In this challenge entry, we introduce the RapidMiner Linked Open Data extension. The extension hooks into the powerful data mining platform RapidMiner, and offers operators for accessing Linked Open Data in RapidMiner, allowing for using it in sophisticated data analysis workflows without the need to know SPARQL or RDF. As an example, we show how statistical data on scientific publications, published as an RDF data cube, can be linked to further datasets and analyzed using additional background knowledge from various LOD datasets.

Web mining is the integration of information gathered by traditional data mining methodologies and techniques with information gathered over the World Wide Web. Mining means extracting something useful or valuable from a baser substance, such as mining gold from the earth.
This presentation covers the basics of Web Mining along with the ETL design and Reporting Specification, that what is the ideal behind the mining modal and how the reports are specified to dig or mine the data via the web for a particular search.
Semantic Technology. Origins and Modern Enterprise Usemyankova
With the help of Semantic Technology rather than locked into siloed, proprietary data formats that impede storage, access and retrieval, data pieces would seamlessly become interoperable and easy to integrate.
This session will comprise a talk with a panel of speakers
looking at KBART: seven years later (since the publication
of the first set of recommendations up to today). The panel
will discuss the changes on the e-resources metadata
landscape, the benefits of KBART and the challenges of
its implementation. Today poor metadata in the electronic
resources supply chain is still a problem. The panel will
use practical examples to explain how metadata creation,
consumption and usage are marked by the constant
requirement of finding the balance between available
resources (technical and human) and end user discoverability
needs. The KBART Standing Committee sees the
implementation of KBART recommendations as a community
effort from a range of stakeholders (content providers,
knowledge bases, link resolvers and librarians).
Buildvoc Introduction to linked data digital construction week 2018Phil Stacey ICIOB
Learning outcomes
• structured data how can it be used in the building industry
• controlled vocabulary benefits
• standard naming convention (SMP)
• linked data vocabulary with document repository
• live demonstration of linked data knowledge library
This instructional session will help you understand how research outputs like data, software, and code can be shared and licensed to maximize reuse and the contribution of knowledge. It explores: how copyright plays out for data, software, and code; other contracts and policies that affect what's "ours" and how we can use and share content; and license selection best practices. An embedded exercise enables the class to practice new skills. Licensed CC-BY-NC 4.0
presented at the 2011 SemTech
Open government data and related services/applications are quickly growing on the Web. Although most agree that the government data has great potential in solving real world problems, there are still many challenges that must be addressed. This talk will describe several representative domain applications and provide concrete examples of evolving technical challenges remaining. We will show solution paths that have proven useful and make recommendations on the corresponding Semantic Web best practices.
• Scalability. How can we handle(e.g. search and cleanse) the 3,000+ raw/tool datasets, and the additional 300,000+ geo datasets from data.gov?
• Interoperability. Multi-scale open government data came from city governments, state governments, and national governments. How can one compare the GDP of the US and China, and later link to state-level financial data? Open government data covers many domains. How can one associate open government data with domain knowledge to build a cancer prevention application?
• Provenance and quality. How should provenance be leveraged to facilitate high-quality data management interactions (e.g. reuse, mash-up and feedback) between the government and the public?

Information Extraction and Linked Data CloudDhaval Thakker
In the media industry there is a great emphasis on providing descriptive metadata as part of the media assets to the consumers. Information extraction (IE) is considered an important tool for metadata generation process and its performance largely depend on the knowledge base it utilizes. The advances in the “Linked Data Cloud” research provide a great opportunity for generating such knowledge base that benefit from the participation of wider community. In this talk, I will discuss our experiences of utilizing Linked Data Cloud in conjunction with a GATE-based IE system.
PoolParty Thesaurus Management - ISKO UK, London 2010Andreas Blumauer
Building and maintaining thesauri are complex and laborious tasks. PoolParty is a Thesaurus Management Tool (TMT) for the Semantic Web, which aims to support the creation and maintenance of thesauri by utilizing Linked Open Data (LOD), text-analysis and easy-to-use GUIs, so thesauri can be managed and utilized by domain experts without needing knowledge about the semantic web. Some aspects of thesaurus management, like the editing of labels, can be done via a wiki-style interface, allowing for lowest possible access barriers to contribution.

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.
