洪承歆A WebQuest is an inquiry-based online learning activity where students work in groups and divide assignments, with the objective of promoting transformative learning through reading, analysis, and synthesis of web-based information. WebQuests were invented in 1995 at San Diego State University and involve cooperative group work to complete tasks using information from websites, with teachers able to search for or create their own WebQuests to assign to students.

Participants come from all over the world, but from its inception there has been an effort to involve teaching practitioners in Arab countries through coordination with the TESOL Arabia TAEDTECH-SIG. Sessions are recorded, and a growing archive of recorded resources is accumulating at the associated podcast site.
