Introduction
• Wearable technology, wearable devices or
fashion electronics are clothing and
accessories incorporating computer and
advanced electronic technologies
• They play an important role in healthcare
monitoring, analyzing and even healing.
• A device is considered wearable if Device is
worn for extended period of time User
inputs and control possible, Enhancement of
user’s experience.

Why this technology?
• Wearable tech begins to close the separation gap
as we make the tech much more integrated with
us rather than apart from us.
• While some people wear electronics to help them
perceive their surroundings more deeply, others
wear these to keep track of calories, distance
walked, heart-condition and other parameters.
• Its important to know that the wearables are not
new. Like all tech, it itself has been on a journey.
And the road has been long to even get here!

How it Works
LED and
Battery Check
• An electric circuit works in a
connected loop where charge flows
from one terminal to another.

A circuit needs 3 things:
• Voltage
• Load
• Conductive Path
What’s in a Circuit?
• We should understand that both a
battery and LED have a voltage that
must be complementary. Or that we
can use resistors to reduce current.
Don’t connect a single 2.4V LED directly to a
9V battery - or do it and see what happens.

Introduction • Wearable technology, wearable devices or fashion electronics are clothing and accessories incorporating computer and advanced electronic technologies • They play an important role in healthcare monitoring, analyzing and even healing. • A device is considered wearable if Device is worn for extended period of time User inputs and control possible, Enhancement of user’s experience. 3

Why this technology? • Wearable tech begins to close the separation gap as we make the tech much more integrated with us rather than apart from us. • While some people wear electronics to help them perceive their surroundings more deeply, others wear these to keep track of calories, distance walked, heart-condition and other parameters. • Its important to know that the wearables are not new. Like all tech, it itself has been on a journey. And the road has been long to even get here! 5
  • 6. How it Works LED and Battery Check • An electric circuit works in a connected loop where charge flows from one terminal to another. 6
  • 7. 7 A circuit needs 3 things: • Voltage • Load • Conductive Path What’s in a Circuit? • We should understand that both a battery and LED have a voltage that must be complementary. Or that we can use resistors to reduce current. Don’t connect a single 2.4V LED directly to a 9V battery - or do it and see what happens.
  • 8. Rules for Designing Wearable 8 DELIVERING GOOD DESIGN FOR WEARABLES COLLECT ONLY THE DATA THAT YOU REALLY NEED . TECHNOLOGY TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST IRREPARABLE DAMAGE. SELECT THE MATERIAL CAREFULLY USE MCU’S WITH MULTIPLE LOW-POWER NODES . OPTIMISE THE CODE. DATA PROCESSING NEEDS TO BE MOVED TO THE GATEWAY. REDUCE NO. OF SENSORS.

Future Aspects • The decreasing cost of processing power and other components is encouraging widespread adoption and availability. • 3D printers are facilitating quick prototyping. • And crowd funding platforms are providing new ways to get funds. • And hence ,wearable technology is on the rise in personal and business use. 9
