Weapons are tools used to harm or damage living beings. Throughout history, weapons technology advanced rapidly during times of war but are not necessarily needed during peace. Modern weapons development has led to faster jets, more powerful bombs like atomic weapons, and the ability to operate weapons remotely. However, weapons also threaten peace and have led to mass destruction capabilities through nuclear stockpiling that could destroy much of the world. Overall, remaining in a state of peace is preferable to advancing harmful weapons technologies.
