A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Provincial Leader –S.Sp.S. Philippines North
Provincial Leader –S.Sp.S. Philippines North
DearAlumnae,
A BLESSED CHRISTMAS to You, dear ALUMNAE and FAMILIES!
I pray that your Christmas Celebrationbe a season of LONGING,
as this classic song expresses:
There is a longingin our hearts, O Lord,
for You to reveal Yourself to us…
For justice, for freedom,
for mercy, hear our prayer…
For healing, for wholeness,
for new life, hear our prayer.
In sickness, in death,
be near, hear our prayer, O God.
More than our longing for God, is God’s own longing for all of us
to recognize His presence in our everyday experiences. This
recognition of HIM as EMMANUEL, as GOD-with-us, is
necessarilytranslated into our way of life.
This longing then flows into our living, relating, working as well
as in our care for Mother Earth. And we, in turn, could become
the GOOD NEWS that our world today needs.
May our collective longing for God draw down for us all the
abundant blessings that our world needs—justice, freedom,
mercy, wholeness, fullness of LIFE!
MALIGAYANG PASKO AT MAPAG-ASANG 2016!
A Christmas Message
from the S.Sp.S.
Provincial Leader
2. A few weeks ago, I chanced upon this quote from Pope John
Paul II, “I plead with you: never, ever give up on hope, never
doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not
afraid.”
This Christmas season let us remember that the greatest
source of our hope and courage is our Lord and Savior,
Jesus. My prayer for you all is that the celebration of His
birth may help ease you of your worries and comfort you in
your burdens. May Jesus’ love gladden your hearts and give
you strength and fortitude.
MerryChristmas and blessings,love and peace
to you and your lovedones!!!
Maria Theresa Abeleda-Llave (HS-73)
CHSAF President
Let us be imbued and look forward with the spirit of faith that
Advent brings. As a community, let us walk as one along the
path of Hope that this blessed season offers, for through it we
will experience great joy, healing, and renewed strength.
I wish each and everyone the lasting gifts of joy, peace, and
love this Christmas and the coming new year. As one prayerful
community, let us continue to trust in the Holy Spirit as our
source of good news and great joy!
No matter how we all differently prepare for and celebrate
Christmas, this Holy season is always a time filled with the
feeling of expectancy and joyful anticipation of the birth of our
Lord. It is a time of reflection – how God WAS in our lives as
we search to see how He means to us NOW for the sake of
what is to come in our own FUTURE. Like the lost Magi who
found Jesus in a simple abode, we get lost in our search. With
the spirit of faith, the Magi followed that one shining star that
led them to Him and were filled with joy. This Christmas
season, let us be like the Magi in following and providing room
for Him in our hearts and lives.
My dear CHS Community and Families,
“Do not be afraid; behold – I am bringing yougood news of
great joy for all people…” Luke 2:10
