JIET College of Nursing organized various activities from August 1-7, 2023 to promote awareness of exclusive breastfeeding as part of World Breastfeeding Week. The theme was "Enabling breastfeeding: making a difference for working parents." Activities included expert sessions, skits, awareness campaigns, workshops and debates focused on educating nursing students, mothers, and healthcare workers about the importance of breastfeeding and addressing barriers faced by working mothers. The week-long campaign concluded with a pledge taken by JIET College of Nursing students and faculty, as well as members of the Society of Midwives Rajasthan Chapter, to support breastfeeding.
Abstract—Child nutrition is an important factor for their physical and neuro-psychological development and overall health not only in childhood but also in adulthood. The World Health Organization recommends that mothers should be informed about the advantages and the enormous benefits of breastfeeding. It is part of the professional responsibility of nurses to promote good health care habits among women in fertile age and raise the overall health awareness of parents. The aim of the study was to research the knowledge of infant feeding among students in the Nursing Program. An anonymous survey was conducted among students in the Nursing I class. The survey group included a total of 51 students, ranging from 19 to 47 years old. All analyses were conducted using Statgraphics Plus software, version 2.1. It was found that students rate the advantages of breastfeeding for the mother as follows: faster recovery (29.4%); reduces the risk of cancer in women (21.6%), faster recovery of the weight of the mother before birth (27.5%). The majority of students were able to point out specific steps to successful breastfeeding and the respective time schedules of infant feeding (70%). The study found less satisfactory results of the participants’ knowledge on how to prepare infant dairy blends 19 (30.3%) and the duration of breastfeeding in 11 (21.6%). It can be concluded that students in the Nursing Program demonstrate good knowledge of infant nutrition.
For the first time, Indonesia celebrated Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28 May 2017. Various international and national organizations, under a coalition named WASH Network, are working closely with the Government of Indonesia to disseminate the importance of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) at schools. There are at least six organizations, such as UNICEF, Plan International Indonesia, SNV, Wahana Visi Indonesia, GIZ Fit for Schools, and SPEAK Indonesia that jointly supports the Menstrual Hygiene campaign with Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) and Ministry of Health (MoH). This report highlight activities conducted, challenges and achievements of the campaign.
Buniyaad is a three year project (April 2012 to March 2015). The project aims at reaching out to 400,000 women with BCC messages on the three tenets of IYCF (immediate and exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding) in its lifetime. These messages are rolled out dedicated grassroot workers-Peer Educators (PEs) and Cluster Coordinators (CCs). Their main job is to counsel mothers and caregivers about recommended IYCF practices and help them overcome the barriers to the same. The BCC efforts under the project are expected to bring about an improvement in the knowledge levels (output) of the primary beneficiaries (pregnant women and mothers of children under two) as well as the secondary target population (health and nutrition functionaries) before resulting in a change in practice (outcome).
The main purpose of this midterm evaluation was to review the progress attained in the project to-date in relation to expected outcomes, highlight what works well which can be scaled up, and what necessary changes (both in strategy as well as action plans) can be made to achieve the desired project objectives. Specifically, the main objectives of the midterm evaluation are:
• To assess progress to-date in terms of achieving key milestones, outputs and early outcomes
• Identify lessons learned, areas to strengthen, modify and refocus to enhance the project’s implementation and sustainability
The project internally generates lot of data which quantifies the progress achieved under key components of the project. However, it was felt that it is important to capture the qualitative response of project beneficiaries and project staff with respect to the project interventions, as well as strengths and weaknesses of specific processes and activities that are affecting, and may further affect the outcomes under the project. Getting a subjective overview of the project will help in assessing the current strategy and help in identifying the need for any further change or modifications. With this view, this mid-term evaluation study has adopted a mixed method approach consisting of both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis, aiming at addressing the research questions.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
