The worldwide incidence of premature
birth & low birth weight is higher among
adolescent mothers.
7. Having a child , at any age , is completely life
changing, especially as a teenager having a
child at this age can drastically affect these
vital stages in person’s life. Being a pregnant
teen can be a great issue. The act of being
pregnant teen itself has shown to cause stress,
anxiety and even depression. May be the teen
is afraid to tell her parents. Whatever the case
may be, the whole situation is too much to
hurdable for the teens.

34. Major Findings
The results of the study revealed that 50.00%
of the adolescent girls were in the age group of
13-14 years,36.67% were in the age group of
15-16 year age group while 13.3% were in the
range from 17-18 years. 0.0% were studying in
class XI ,13.3% were studying XII
class,71.7% were Hindus,21.7% were from
Muslim religion and 3.3% were Christian &
Sikh religions.

49. After the detailed analysis , this study leads to
the following conclusion: 41.7% student girls
have poor knowledge regarding the teenage
pregnancy while 3.30% were found average in
knowledge.
50. After the implementation of structured
teaching programme, there is significant
increase in knowledge of student girls
regarding the teenage pregnancy. Which is
calculated by t- test and the result was 15.97
