Water is essential part of our life. We use lot of water for cloth washing daily this leads to generate lot of effluent. We also use different kinds of detergents which may reduce the dissolved oxygen in the water which harmful to aquatic animals and microorganisms which decomposes the organic matter. 2. NEED FOR WATERLESS WASHING
 Water is most important and textile industry Is
water intensive industry.
 Water being used as a vehicle, almost 90% water
input gets converted into effluent in textile wet
processing.
 Lots of water is genrated in textile wet processing
which turns in water pollution.

cloth every day.

soaps are used for cleaning purpose thus leads to

5. What Xeros offers is much more than a marginally upgraded laundry machine. It
is a revolutionary new process for cleaning fabrics. The strength of the Xeros
system lies in the fact that it fundamentally changes the way that laundry gets
done. By replacing water with beads as the primary means of removing stains
from fabrics, we have made the first true innovation in washing machines – and
the wash process – in over 60 years.

6. Step 1: The beads
With a Xeros washing system, specially-designed polymer
beads are used in place of large amounts of hot water to
remove stains from fabrics. These miraculous little beads of
polymer extract foreign stains from fabrics and carry them
away – by means of both adsorption and absorption.
Because water is no longer the primary means of removing
stains, the Xeros system can get fabrics clean while using
significantly less water than a standard commercial laundry
machine would.
Step 2: The machine
he use of polymer beads in the cleaning process also requires
a special machine, and that’s where the Xeros washing
machine comes in. This specially designed machine is built
specifically to be used with the beads. By using special
compartments to store the beads as well as introduce and
remove them from the wash, the Xeros machine takes full
advantage of the unique cleaning capabilities of the polymer
beads. It takes a Xeros machine to use the beads, and unlock
their power.

7. By making the beads spheroidal in shape, Xeros eliminated the
hard edges that come with a cylindrical design. This has two
benefits:
1. The absence of hard edges means that there is gentle
action on the fabrics in the wash.
2. The rounded shape makes bead separation easier (as they
exit through the drum).
Eventually, Xeros was able to find a near-perfect bead size
to balance wash performance with bead separation. For a
25 kg wash load, a Xeros machine will use 50 kg of beads,
or around 1.5 million beads.

8. After a bead has absorbed soil from a
stain, it is carried away from the fabric
and placed back in a special wet sump,
where it is ready to be used again for
hundreds more cycles without losing its
cleaning performance. Beads are
constantly extracted from the wash drum
and refreshed ones are introduced to
ensure maximum cleaning performance.
One of the amazing things about the
Xeros system is that the beads never leave
the washing machine. After hundreds of
uses the beads are replaced by a Xeros
technician and recycled.
The polymer beads in the Xeros machine act in a manner similar to a sponge,
soaking up stains and dye, trapping them in the beads, and then carrying them
away from the fabrics.

9. While the Xeros system is designed significantly to reduce your water, energy, and

Less sorting of the wash
By using low-temperature cleaning in addition
to the polymer beads, the Xeros machine
greatly reduces the need to sort mixed colors
in the wash. This makes the sorting process
simpler, saving valuable time.
