School audit about the use of
water
“Water is the driving force
of all nature”

In order to know if we are a
waterwise school
We have investigated the amount of
water we use up in our high school.
We observed how much water we use up
Using taps In the toilet In green areas
Using taps In the toilet In green areas
And now we are
going to show you
the results.

We asked some questions...
...and the results were:
Plants are watered less than twice
a week in the afternoon when the sun sets.
At the school
we haven’t got any
water rain collection system.
We have leaks in some elements
of the drip irrigation system.
We have a little orchard where
a group of students grow green vegetables
and aromatic plants.

There aren’t any posters in the school that
make us aware of the benefits of the best
use of toilets.
We have analyzed
the receipt of the water :
1077,42 liters of water were consumed at
the school during last year.
Calculations: 1077,42 L /349 people
every person of our school consumes
approximately 3 liters per year
CONCLUSION
We believe that , in general, our school uses
appropriate measures with regards to water
use.
However,……
Things to improve
We have the drip irrigation system to water plants, but
we don’t use it. We have to use it.
We should make posters to encourage people to use
the water in a good way.
We could also have a security system for
leaks
We should put a system to collect rainwater
for reuse it for water plants.

WATER SURVEY

  • 1. survey COMENIUS PROJECT 2013-2015 Let’s know, let’s love and let’s protect our environment! School audit about the use of water

  • 3. In order to know if we are a waterwise school
  • 4. We have investigated the amount of water we use up in our high school.
  • 5. We observed how much water we use up Using taps In the toilet In green areas Using taps In the toilet In green areas
  • 6. And now we are going to show you the results.
  • 7. GREEN AREAS Total surface of green areas 591’35 m2 Types of trees More exotic species trees than native trees 5 types of deciduous trees and 6 types of evergreen trees Irrigation system Drip watering system
  • 8. We asked some questions... ...and the results were:
  • 9. Plants are watered less than twice a week in the afternoon when the sun sets.
  • 10. At the school we haven’t got any water rain collection system.
  • 11. We have leaks in some elements of the drip irrigation system.
  • 12. We have a little orchard where a group of students grow green vegetables and aromatic plants.
  • 13. TAPS Main type of tap Timed tap Using a chronometer we measured the time that water flows through the tap.
  • 14. TAPS According to the datum for a correct flow of water that we have consulted taps in our school have an adequate flow.
  • 15. Water closets Type of system Double push-button We don’t notice any leakages in our system of water closets
  • 16. There aren’t any posters in the school that make us aware of the benefits of the best use of toilets.
  • 17. We have analyzed the receipt of the water : 1077,42 liters of water were consumed at the school during last year. Calculations: 1077,42 L /349 people every person of our school consumes approximately 3 liters per year
  • 18. CONCLUSION We believe that , in general, our school uses appropriate measures with regards to water use. However,……
  • 19. Things to improve We have the drip irrigation system to water plants, but we don’t use it. We have to use it.
  • 20. We should make posters to encourage people to use the water in a good way.
  • 21. We could also have a security system for leaks
  • 22. We should put a system to collect rainwater for reuse it for water plants.
