Building Effective Teams And Teamwork, And Leading...
Group skills are comprised of 3 core aspects which are: empowering and engaging others, building
effective teams and teamwork, and leading positive change. Each one of these core elements is
very important in developing group skills and can always be improved if the proper approach is
taken. Effective empowering and engagement is made up of 9 various dimensions. For example,
personal mastery experiences, modeling, providing support, arousing positive emotions, providing
information, providing resources, organizing teams, creating confidence, and delegating work are
all dimensions making up effective empowermentand engagement. I received a 12 for all of the
elements listed and a 60 for delegating work which gives me a sum score of 156, placing me in
the high ability to empower others quartile. I agree with this score, because I like to help and
give others the opportunities to shine and reach their potential. I like to think of myself as a self
less person and help others grow and reach their potential and accompany on my journey as well.
Personal mastery experiences are experiences that give employees the confidence and ability to
be successful at a particular assigned duty. Modeling is how the leader goes to serve as an
example for empowering others. Providing support is the extent in which a leader helps employees
feel empowered through help and insight. Arousing positive emotions is a way of circumventing
issues of anxiety and fear. Providing information and

Office Apparel Research Paper
The combination of Women s fashion and proper office apparel offers a unique challenge to any
fashion designer; and the fashion trend for Spring 2009 is no exception. For Spring 2009 the
fashion industry offers fabrics that are sheer, soft and flowing and full of color. Platform heels are
back as well as cardigans. If you are looking to build your office wardrobe, here are five of the
hottest trends for Spring 2009 s appropriate office apparel. And the nice thing is, they can be
bought at Walmart, or any other store of your choice. 1. Use a scarf Since sheer is in, for Spring
2009, and you of course wouldn t consider wearing a sheer blouse to work; wear a scarf. A soft
scarf loosely tied about the neck, can add a touch of elegance to any... Show more content on

If you do much walking around in your office, or a lot of standing, you might be more
comfortable in flat Mary Jane s. These shoes are quite stylish, and very feminine. 3. Handbag
/purse A lady s handbag or purse should be of the same colorand texture as her shoes. It adds a
touch of professionalism, and a sense of being well put together when shoes and purse or handbag
match. 4. Cardigans Spring 2009 has cardigans back with a vengeance, and this year they have Вѕ
sleeves. They are accented with large buttons. They can be worn buttoned up (not the top
button) as a top, or they can be worn opened, with a matching camisole, depending on your attire
for the day. 5. Pants Fabric choices for Spring 2009 are soft and flowing, and that goes for slacks
as well. A nice cotton blend is a good choice, and will be comfortable when the days get warmer.
If your boss or supervisor doesn t mind, cropped pants are very stylish this spring, and look very
nice and professional. I have listed here a couple of websites that I have found to be very helpful in
helping women put these fabrics and accessories together, and making a nice office appropriate
attire. http://fashion about.com/od/whattowear/a/weartowork.htm,

October Revolution Problems
Lenin and Problems After the October Revolution
The initial difficulties faced by the new Soviet Union were to severe that its survival seemed almost
miraculous. The remains of the czarist regime left Lenin to face a country wrought with war,
devastated economically.
Russia s involvement in World War I, followed by its Civil War, wide spread famine and a change
in political and social ideology were the problems confronting Lenin after the October Revolution.
Lenin did succeed in ending both the war with Germany and the Civil War for Russia. Yet, the
economic and social aspects of the revolution can be more critically assessed.
Lenin knew the importance of ending Russian involvement in World War I.
On March 3, 1918 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As in the case of the World War, a simple end to the fighting did not signify an end to the
devastation that had been left as a consequence.
The economic and social problems that arose from the end of the czarist regime were dealt with by
Lenin initially unsuccessfully. War communism, a forced socialized economic policy began with
the confiscation of surplus grain.
It then extended to all other products. Abusive detachments fought peasant resistance with the
terror of the Red Army, and in 1919 when they gained control, with the Extraordinary Commission
(Cheka). What Lenin had thought would bring the triumph of communism rendered only misery
and disorder. The Kronstadt
Revolt in February, 1921 is an example of the indignation felt by those that saw the Bolshevik s
policies as too oppressive. Finally, Lenin sees that a transition period is necessary, and denounces
war communism for its impractical severity. Up until this point the disastrous economic and social
problems of the nation were not dealt with successfully.
Both World War I and the Civil War left rampant destruction in Russia s agricultural production.
Drought as well as the failure of war communism led to wide spread famine. At this point Lenin
introduced gradual economic measures that began as agricultural policies. According to British
historian E.H. Carr,
Lenin s New Economic Policy increased from food production to trade, to the

Roman Polanski s Memoirs Of A Pianist
Roman Polanski s heartfelt and honorable interpretation of the true horrors of the Holocaust,
(based on the memoir of famed Polish pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman,) appears at face value as just
another blockbuster period piece. Yet it offers so much more. Polanski expertly crafts filmmaking
artistry with true life, allowing the viewer to be completely immersed in a time previously known
to them only through history books. Upon the first viewing I was restless, overwhelmed and
unsuspecting of the sheer weight of what I had previously considered to be another film pandering
to an audience of mock sympathy. By watching it a second time, I was fully capable of appreciating
the stunning and emotionally demanding story of one man s (at times, reluctant)... Show more

One scene in particular achieved this goal completely. During one of the final scenes of the film,
Szpilman is in hiding, and attempts to open a can of soup. He creeps out of his hiding spot in an
old abandoned house to find something to open the can with. As he attempts to pry the can
open, he falls directly in the sight of an SS Officer. Instead of shooting him, the officer asks
Szpilman a few questions, resulting in Szpilman playing piano for the Nazi. As tense and
emotional as this scene is to watch, the audience also receives a moment of joy. Polanski uses a
high angle to give the audience the impression that they too are looking down on Szpilman as he
plays the piano, making him look even weaker and trapped than he already was. However, the
camera angle then alternates, showing the audience the Nazi officer and Szpilman on the same
level, allowing us a brief moment of tenderness in an otherwise violent and depressing world. As
Szpilman plays, direct sunlight illuminates him, highlighting the pain and anguish written on his
face. (2:01 2:07) This scene is certainly romanticized from the original version as told to us by
Szpilman. In his memoir, he declares, Do what you like to me. I m not leaving from here. (Page

courage, with such

Year 11 English Satire Essay
I am profoundly sorry to hear about you re concern as a parent. Ms Vogt has informed me of the
complaint, and I understand that you may be distraught and troubled about the use of the
mockumentary , Summer Heights High within your child s classroom. You may feel that your
child may be influenced by some of the actions within the piece, but there is nothing to worry
about at all! Everything is under control and we know what is best! As part of the year 11
English curriculum, all English classes are exploring the use of satire around the world. We are
showing this show not to sit around and laugh as you waste valuable money, but as a class point

We will be learning how satirical text can be used to entertain an audience and how aspects of
satire such as irony and exaggeration can be used to entertain a large audience! Another key
reason is so that your child is aware of what happens and why they treat other people that are
different to them in series such as Summer Heights High. In a perfect school everyone is treated
equally and no one is abused and offended, so learning about Summer Heights High can be used
as a guide on what not to do, so your child becomes more respectful and humble of where he is.
Furthermore, we learn about the type of satire on whether it is Horatian or Juvenalian and what this
means. Additionally, how satire can be used to show different personalities of characters within a
public school. From this, we look at the stylistic features of the characters which includes looks,
clothing, physical appearance, and attitude. These stylistic features give meaning and feeling to
what is being shown. Do you really want your child to miss out on deep meaningful learning such as

The Middle Schoolers
]When I was in the second grade my school bus broke down on the way home and we had to call
for a bus from the middle school to finish dropping us off. I sat huddled in the torn green back
seats with five boys from my class listening intently as a sixth grader explained to us some of the
games the middle schoolers played at recess. It s called FMK. Fuck, Marry, Kill. You have to
choose which person you would fuck, marry, or kill. Some of the boys giggled but some stayed
quiet, not understanding what he meant. The older boy, Josh, relished in the moment, thinking
it funny that he knew so much more than us and giddy to be the one to corrupt our young
minds. He said, Okay I ll give an example so you understand. Gerard you have to choose, FMK
Johnny, Kevin, or Veronica. You d have to choose to fuck Veronica and marry and kill Kevin or
Johnny because you can t fuck a boy if you re a boy. Moms and dads fuck, it s how they make
the babies. If there were more girls here, you d have to choose which one you d rather make a
baby with. Which one is prettier. The game made me uncomfortable, though at seven years old I
could not identify why. I figured that Josh was right. It did, after all, make sense. Moms and
dads did make babies, and so, I went along with the game. Sitting in the back of that bus with five
of my male friends as he told them I filled the, fuck, choice was the first time I ever had to
consider myself a sexual entity and a heterosexual one at that. To Josh it

Aberdeen Central High School Weightroom Observation
Millions of students across the nation spend countless mornings and late nights in the weight room
trying to achieve something greater. Weight rooms, much like the one I grew to know here in
Aberdeen, are the beginning to so many dreams coming true. The bright lights and loud music
invite you into a place of team building and hard work. In the weight room at Aberdeen Central
High School, the comforting sound of weights hitting the floor became home. I looked to the
records on the wall with fondness, motivating me to learn what hard work was and how to be
patient in letting it pay off. The black floors and eagles on the platforms will be engrained into my
brain forever; blood, sweat and all. Seeing the face of that powerful bird made me proud

Fitness centers have become a business and because a workout is necessary, as an every day
routine, it needs to be convenient and close to where people work or live. International Health,
Racquet and Sports club Association identifies that booming fitness clubs are found at the center
of marketplaces where there are a lot of residents and social network. To add on, with Leeds and
Peter von Allmen s evidence in Chapter 6: The Public Finance of Sports, the location maximizes
the positive externalities associated with the fitness franchise. For example, in hotels, busy
metropolitan areas like New York City, and even in universities cost more than a regular
membership nearby one s house. In hotels, fitness centers are usually provided with hotels fee and
operate twenty four hours with almost the same fitness equipment as other fitness centers. As
people are traveling from one place to another also known as leisure time, the days of overeating
become obsessive and that is where gym facilities are being made into profit. The wellness travel
kit in hotels often includes mind and body activities, beauty treatments, yoga classes, and even
cross fit training. Also, recreational centers in the greater city across the United States have become
evident. In Data Table 2: Pie Chart, the statistics show that Southeast has the most fitness clubs with

An Argument Against Auteur Theory.
Auteurism: A Disease of Greatness.
The term Auteur seems to bless a privileged group of filmmakers with an almost messiah like
legacy. Men such as Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford and Fritz Lange are believed to inhabit the ranks
of the cinematic elite, and not surprisingly most critics are more than willing to bestow upon them
the title of Auteur. By regarding filmmaking as yet another form of art, Auteur theory stipulates that
a film is the direct result of its director s genius. With the emerging prominence of auteur based
criticism in the 1950?s, the role of the director became increasingly integral to a film s success.
However most would argue that this form of criticism didn t reach its apex until 1960s, when
Andrew Sarris released his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He merely didn t adhere to a set of criteria which could safely classify his work as art . When asked
why he was not respected by American critics, as he is in Europe, Corman responded,
Ordinarly there is a great deal of snobbery from American film critics, they will accept a film by
Stanley Kramer as a work of art before they see it, or a film from a European director...but they
unloose their ire against low or medium budget Hollywood productions 3
Considered one of the greatest of all American directors, John Ford would no doubt be regarded
an auteur by those who choose to utilize the phrase. One can imagine Ford carefully weaving
beautiful images of monument valley, to fulfill his artistic allegories, or demanding the most
effective of performances from a cast who manage to convey the emotions which stir inside this
most American of auteurs. Just as Corman seems to put a great deal of philosophical thought into
crafting what many consider to be simple films, Ford seems to suggest that his cinematic choices
are often over analyzed. In an interview with fellow western film director Burt Kennedy, Ford was
asked about some of these choices, which have come to define much of his style, and his answers
are surprisingly simplistic. When questioned about his connection to Monument Valley, and the
reasoning behind choosing that location, Ford responded I knew

Moral Law vs. Political Law in Sophocles’ Antigone Essay
One has the capability to determine from right and wrong and having the determination to stand up
for what one believes in, no matter what the price is. In Sophocles Antigone, a written dramatic
play, Sophocles portrays the theme that at times of one s life, it is necessary to follow moral law
and ignore political law. In the play, a determined and courageous woman named Antigoneis loyal to
her beloved brother by granting him a proper burial and having to suffer the consequences for
revolting. Throughout Antigone, several incidents occurred where the political law was of no
importance to the individual. Conflicts between Antigone and Ismene and then with Creonand

Finally on page 774, Antigone is still determined to give her loving brother, Polyneices, a proper
burial when she says, ...as for me, I will bury the brother I love. In this incident, Antigone is
headstrong about giving her brother what he deserves, despite the fact that Ismene told her to
obey the law. Antigone is acting as if she were a rebellious teenager because she is contradicting
political laws to perform acts that would seem moral to her for the sake of Polyneices. Like the
discussion Antigone had with her sister, she will remain being headstrong to whoever confronts
her. Later in the play, Antigone was captured for being caught in the act of burying her brother
and is now conversing with King Creon about her decision made to revolt. On page 783, Creon
is surprised when he says, ...you dared defy the law, to Antigone due to boasting her rebellious
actions. In this demonstration, Antigone does not deny her guilt, but declares all of the
information, provided by the guards, true. Antigone does not care for the consequences, which is
death; she knew what she would create for herself when she chose to bury her brother. A second
example of this is on page 784 when Antigone states, There is no guilt in reverence for the dead.
By what Antigone said, she believes it should not be against the law to have reverence or

Wet evidence should be air dried to prevent molding. Packages must be sealed with evidence
tape, not staples; someone could cut themselves on the staples and contaminate the evidence
(National Institute of Justice, n.d.). Evidence can be lost be storing it in the wrong materials or
exposed to too much light, heat, or bacteria (Osterburg Ward, 2010). Evidence should only be
stored in clean and leak proof containers and kept in a cool place. Evidence should be delivered to
an evidence facility as soon as possible (Osterburg Ward, 2010). Keeping evidence too long can be
harmful for prosecution (Osterburg Ward, 2010).
Chain of Evidence
According to the National Institute of Justice, the fewer people handling the evidence, the better;
there is less chance of contamination and a shorter chain of custody for court admissibility hearings
(n.d.). The chain of custody of the evidence should include a list of all persons who have had
physical possession of the evidence as well as the time period they carried the evidence, starting
with the responding officer who was in charge up to this point. The evidence should be tracked
from the responding officer s hands or medical examiner, whoever recovers the evidence, to the
processing and examination and preservation, to the presentation in court.

Privy Council vs . Caribbean Court of Justice

Topic: The Privy Council vs. Caribbean Court of Justice
The Privy Council vs. Caribbean Court of Justice At the center of the judicial system in the
Commonwealth Caribbean lies the English Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The Judicial
Committee of the Privy Council is primarily the final Court of Appeal for those Commonwealth
territories which have retained the appeal to Her Majesty in other matters. The Privy Council is an
institution that became established as the final court for the individual countries during the era of
colonialism. The Privy Council is the British Crown s private council. It is composed of more than
three hundred members, including cabinet members, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The members of the Council are collectively known as The Lords of Her Majesty s Most
Honourable Privy Council . The Sovereign appoints Privy Counselors on the advice of the
government and generally consists of senior members of Parliament, the church and judiciary. The
Privy Council shows a more complex structure than the CCJ. The CCJ is the highest appellate court
for Barbados Guyana and Belize however all the other islands retain the Privy Council as their final
appellate court. Another distinguishing feature is that the CCJ can interpret the Treaty and apply it
to our legal systems only where possible. This limitation means that it has to be done within the
confines of the different laws of the islands. This feature is unlike to the EU system where the EU
court could make direct laws which would affect member states. The Privy Council would be
interpreting Caribbean laws based on the examples they have had with the Single European
Community. On the other hand the Caribbean Court of Justice would have an active role in
resolving trade disputes and trade integration based on the laws relating to the Caribbean community
.

Heat Is The Transfer Of Thermal Energy Between...
Heat is the transfer of thermal energy between substances. Thermal energy is the kinetic energy of
moving particles of matter. If you go camping, you usually build a fire to sit around at night. Have
you ever wondered why a marshmallow cooks without touching the flame, why the smoke rises, or
why water in a pan boils? Heatcan move from one object to another in three different ways:
conduction, convection and radiation.
Some sources of heat may include the following: the sun, friction, and the earth. Life on earth
depends on the sun. The sun provides heat/light for the entire solar system. A person could generate
a fire by rubbing two sticks together. The Earth contains much heat seep inside. Some of the heat
escapes to the surface ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thermal energy radiates through air from a fire causing the fire s energy to transfer to the
marshmallow.
As stated before, thermal conductor occurs when particles of warmer matter bump into particles
of cooler matter and transfer some of their thermal energy to the cooler particles. Conduction is
usually faster in certain solids and liquids than in gases. Returning to the example of a camp
fire; what happens if you use an old metal hangar to roast hot dogs? As the hot dogs cooks, the
fire heats the end of the hanger. If we leave the hanger in the fire long enough, eventually the end
we are holding will become too hot for us to handle. The flames to the metal were transferred by
the heat, and then from molecule to molecule in the hanger. Now, what would have happened if
you had chosen a stick to roast your hot dog? Though the stick may have caught fire, it would not
have conducted the heat to your hand. This is because wood is a very poor heat conductor.
Heat insulators are materials that do not let heat move through them easily. They do not conduct
heat well. Plastic, wood and some fabrics are good thermal insulators. Thermal insulators are good
at keeping heat out and keeping heat in. A winter scarf is a good example of a thermal insulator. It
stops the heat from your body escaping into the cold air.
Temperature is defined as the average kinetic energy of the particles of matter. When

The Tragedy Of The Greek Tragedy
Great Tragedy Results in Deeper thinking Throughout the history of ancient literature, tragedy was
one of the most famous and significant literary forms. Especially, Greek tragedy literature was a
popular and influential form of drama performed in theatres across ancient Greece from the late 6th
century BCE, and formed the foundation upon which all modern theatre is based (Cartwright). I
will look for not only the reasons why Greek writers composed such tragedy, but also focus on what
made the audience enjoy the tragedy. Because, essentially the readers and the audience were the
people make literatures famous and the way how audience interpreted them is also important.
Indeed, tragedy not only influenced the ancient audience, but also have a great effect upon many
current readers.
Before we begin discuss about the ancient tragedy, let me first illustrate the meaning of tragedy.
Tragedy is a form of drama based on human suffering that invokes an accompanying catharsis or
pleasure in audiences (Banham). Moreover, some scholars suggest tragedy is the mirror image
or negative of comedy. For instead of depicting the rise in circumstances of a dejected or outcast
underdog, tragedy shows us the downfall of a once prominent and powerful hero. Like comedy,
tragedy also supposedly originated as part of a religious ritual (Simpson). And in ancient Greek,
both comedy and tragedy were performed widely in the theatre. Essentially, both comedy and
tragedy were created and performed

The Rule Behind Cloud Cdn Administrations
Rule of cloud CDN The rule behind cloud CDN administrations is the utilization of server
systems. This includes advising nearest servers when substance is asked for by a client. This
lessened page stacking time. Another approach to speed the procedure is to store content for
future use by the same client. The objective is to get substance to the client rapidly, accelerating
the time taken for reaction. Cloud CDN administrations Cloud CDN administration includes the
utilization of cloud servers to get substance to clients. This empowers speedier site stacking speed,
one of the real points of interest of utilizing a cloud CDN administration. Quick site stacking is
advantageous for some reasons. To start with would be expanded guest enthusiasm for the site,
following the pages stack rapidly. Most site proprietors know that moderate pages are one of the
significant reasons for guest lack of engagement and surrender of shopping baskets. The second
advantage of quick stacking pages identifies with better rankings with web crawler. Great internet

Why People Are Afraid Of Immigrants In Canada
Society in Canada
The reason that people are afraid of immigrants it is because it brings a change in a society. They
don t want to experience the change. It is shown to them explaining why they don t like
immigrants. They argue that it is not the race of the other that they dislike, but that they do not like
what they wear, or the houses they build, or the way they live. This is a backlash racism , or
reactive racism often targets cultural practices and attributes of ethnic (Blundell, 2003, p.56). They
express their anger towards the ethnic minorities in graffiti, verbal abuse, physical attacks, etc.
Immigrants in Canada are accused of being job stealers, inflating the real estate, having a monster
house, taking advantage of welfare, dressing inappropriately, etc. They were called job stealers
because when the Asians come to Canada, they take jobs that the Canadian abandoned or did not
want to take it. Asians were also working on a low wage compared to a Canadian. Which make a
profit for the company by hiring them. They were accused of inflating the real estate and make the
Canadian unable to afford a house. It is not the immigrants who raised the value of the house but it

Residents complained about the large houses, which change the traditional character of the
neighborhood and inflate real estate values (Blundell, 2003, p.56). Immigrants home were
named monster house because they lived in a bigger house. It was a shock for Canadian to have
a change in architectural style. Asian people bought a larger house because they have a larger
size of the family. If a white Canadians build a larger house and lives in it, it would seem like a
beautiful house. If an Asian does that, people would call the house as a monster

Free Will In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
We live in an existence where we dream and make plans to achieve those dreams. Dreams are
fuel for life because it gives you hope that everything will be alright and it give paths to follow
when you don t have any. Sometimes dreams don t go as planned, as a matter of fact they can be
shattered into million pieces in few seconds. It does not matter how well thought out your plans
were, but they can be destroyed because you don t know what is going to happen in the future.
Things are predestined and they will happen no matter how much you try to avoid it. Our future

Discussion of the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism
Q2. Outline and discuss the four noble truths: is the Buddhist view of existence optimistic or
pessimistic?
The question of the Buddhist view of existence being optimistic or pessimistic is one which is
many have an opinion on. It could be said that the four noble truths provide the views of the
Buddha in the way that life is led and more importantly, should be led. Certainly, the end goal is
clearly optimistic, the attainment of spiritual enlightenment, or nirvana. However, the Buddhist
view of life as we lead it is often deemed pessimistic as it is so concerned with suffering. As there is
more than one school of thought to, is the Buddhist view of existence of optimistic or pessimistic?

Pleasure, prosperity, success and fame are short term gains. This is what the Buddha taught as the
Second Noble Truth of the Cause of Suffering Desire (Tanha). Again these could be considered a
very pessimistic view of the human condition. Nothing has any permanent meaning, life s hard and
then we die.
Ignorance of the Buddha s teachings, might attribute all happiness and suffering to some external
cause, believing that happiness and suffering come from the environment, or from the gods, and
that everything that happens originates in some source outside of one s control. If one believes
this, then it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to envisage eliminating suffering and its causes
which is in itself an extremely pessimistic point of view. On the other hand, when a person accepts
responsibility that experience of suffering is a product of what the self has done, that is, a result of
personal karma, eliminating suffering becomes a real possibility. Buddhismbelieves that once
awareness of suffering takes place, one can begin to remove the causes of suffering. This is the
understanding of karma. Accepting responsibility for our own behaviour is an essential part of
being able to change it, and a real source of optimism. The third noble truth is the cessation of
suffering. Our cessation of suffering is something that we cannot depend on anyone else to help us
with, because it is such a personal thing. The truth of universal origination means that if our

A media specialist named John Schumacher from Oak Brook, Illinois says that there are
advantages of using cell phones in the classroom these days. He said he has his students look up
QR codes and barcodes that are readable on phones (Staff). Students and teachers should be able
to use social networking sites. For example, they could be rewarded and get on it in their free
time or they could use it for school purposes. Our school should be able to trust us enough to be
mature about what websites we get on. In high school we should already know right from

how to use these tools appropriately is growing up and it being a part of life (Davis). Therefore,
if a student breaks a rule using one of the devices he or she should be the only one that gets

Sickle Cell Anemia Essay
Sickle cell disease is a hereditary hemoglobin defect that occurs in people of African and
Mediterranean decent. First identified in 1904 by a hospital intern, sickle cell disease became,
more than forty years later, the first disease found to be a genetic disease (Harris 83). This
disorder is caused by a recessive allele that changes the structure of hemoglobin. Sickle cell
hemoglobin (HbS) differs from normal hemoglobin (HbA) in that of all the 574 amino acids it is
made of, just one is different. In the sixth amino acid of the beta chain, HbA has glutamic acid and
HbS has valine. Normal red blood cells have a biconcave shape that transports hemoglobin which is

I think the most important thing is to keep an open mind. The great fashion industry has taken
over the hip hop culture and evolved over time. People like Ralph lauren, Calvin Klein, and
Tommy Hilfiger tapped into hip hop culture and gave very little in return. It first consisted of
baggy shirts, sagging pants and jerseys. Then people like Jay Z linked up with brands like louis
vuitton to create their own fashion lines. The clothes got tighter, classically fashionable and
much more expensive. Clothing will always evolve with the dancers and music to fit the style of
that era. Hip Hop dancing has multiple different styles that can be put together or left alone to

The Ethical Theory Of Ethical Theories Essay
Ethical theories are concepts or moral values that dictate whether choices are right or wrong. The
two ethical theories that are the most prominent in society are Utilitarianism and Deontology.
Utilitarianism is a theory that judges the value of the action as good or bad based on the
consequences of the deed, while Deontology believes the motive of the act is more important.
When determining the value of the decisions, the variables are based on the guidelines of each
ethical theory. This includes providing the basis of how to make logical decisions founded on
ethical reasoning. Unfortunately, there are many situations where individual s rights are threatened
due to unethical and unmoral situations like sexual harassment in the workplace. To prevent similar
situations from occurring, individuals must be able to fully understand when to apply the use of
ethicsto decision making. For this type of mindset to take place, the public needs to be educated on
the different types of ethical ideologies, and know how to approach situations based on ethical
solutions. Once the public is aware of the ethical theories and how to avoid unethical situations,
there will a decreased amount of sexual harassment in the workplace. Utilitarianism, also known as
consequentialism, is a theory where actions are considered good or bad depending on the
consequences of the actions, not the motives. In Utilitarianism, the main goal of the theory is to
maximize the most amount of good for all people.

The Three Gods In Hinduism
Throughout India, there has been a large variation of religions that people follow. While there are
many cohesive religious systems, what makes Hinduism unique is that it is categorized as many
Indian religious ways formed together to make one single religion. (Fisher, 73). In Hinduism, there
have been three gods that are vital in the religious aspect life of Hinduism. These three gods,
BrahmДЃ,Vishnu, and Shiva, represent the three forces of creation, preservation, and destruction in
Hinduism and when they are linked together, primarily in philosophy and art, they are often called
the TrimЕ«rti, which means triple form. BrahmДЃ represents the god of creation, Vishnu represents

His status isn t equal to that of Vishnu or Shiva. However, BrahmДЃ still appears in more myths
than almost every other Hindu god, very often including Vishnu and Shiva, especially in the
Puranas. One very popular myth is when Shiva appears before both BrahmДЃ and Vishnu in the
form of a flaming phallus and tells BrahmДЃ that he will never again be worshipped in India
because he was being punished for having wrongly declared that he saw the tip of the infinite
pillar (Doniger, 1023). We can also see in the many versions of the Submarine Mare myth that
Brahma plays a large role as well. In this myth, a giant fire was threatening the universe so
Brahma put the fire in the body of a mare with fiery ambrosia in her mouth and then put the mare
in the ocean to be kept until the final flood (Caldwell, 86). Another incident where the three gods
of the Trimurti are classified together in a myth is when Prithu, an ancient Hindu king, was
being sanctified as a king. The three gods of the Trimurti were each giving Prithu a gift at the
celebration with Brahma giving him an armour of Vedic incantations, Vishnu giving him the
sudarЕ›ana discus, and Shiva giving him a sword engraved with ten moons like marks. Brahma
s gift intentionally was to relate to spiritual force, while Vishnu s related to physical force and
Shiva s gift to fertility (the moon being a symbol of production) (Bailey, 157 158). Another
example of the Trimurti functioning together develops in a description of the lingodbhava myth.
In this scenario, Brahma is described approaching Vishnu, who was reclined on his snake couch
with many servants to his beckon call and his great power was on display as Vishnu was
personifying himself as a female. A quarrel brews between the two of them about who is more
superior to the other. Eventually, Shiva appears ...in the form of a fiery lingam, a symbol of Shiva,

Streaks of shimmering sunlight filtered through a golden canopy of trees, casting elegant shadows

A balmy smell lingered in the humid air, mixing with the scent of damp earth. Flowers were dotted

Emergency Mangers
The constant threat of focusing events, places a high level of pressure on emergency managers to
respond appropriately to various levels of complex disasters. Past focusing events, highlight the
importance of communication and coordination before and after disasters. Consequently, citizens
expect emergency responders and government agencies to be accountable for rapidly responding to
disasters in an organized manner. Prior to a focusing event, it is beneficial for emergency mangers
to determine disasterriskprioritization. I present methods that emergency mangers can use to
determine these priorities. Lastly, I discuss the integration of geographic information systems (GIS)
to identify hazardzone areas.
One method to determine disaster risk prioritization is to conduct risk and vulnerability assessments
(Kapucu Г–zerdem, 2013). Secondly, surveys can be given to citizens to determine how
knowledgeable they are about what to do if a disaster was to occur. This could be crucial in

movement had taken place. The author saw complete equality as a bad thing since no one would be
unique. To begin with the government controls everything. Anything seen as above average or
abnormal is made normal with handicaps. There are handicaps for strength, speed, intelligence, and

Bee Husbandry Has A Long Tradition
Bee husbandry has a long tradition throughout the world, with many areas developing their own
unique practices. Some practices have become so successful in their native region that they have
been imported by other regions to facilitate honey and wax production. One region in particular has
developed technology and techniques without which beekeepingwould have been significantly
retarded in its development. The Carniolan region of Europe, now in Slovenia, formerly in
Yugoslavia and before that the Austro Hungarian Empire, is home to one of the most successful and
rich traditions of Bee husbandry within the sphere of contemporary knowledge. The Slavic people
of Carniola have developed techniques of disease management, revolutionized hive... Show more

This fact alone speaks to the depth of the Slovenian beekeeping tradition, but that is only the
beginning of the story. While the rest of Europe were using the traditional straw skep hive
(Supplementary Figure S1), Carniolan beekeepers were using their wooden bee houses
(Supplementary Figure S2) which contained multiple reusable hives composed of movable frames
(Rojina, 1917). The impact these hives had when Slovenian beekeeper Anton Jansa introduced
them to the broader Austro Hungarian Empire was massive. Apiary production soared, the total
value of Austria s production alone multiplying by five times in a year (Rojina, 1917). Traditional
skep hives were destroyed, and the bee colony along with them, during the harvesting process.
Additionally, they were hotbeds of disease because they could not be opened for inspection or
treatment. The Carniolan hive allowed easy inspection and treatment, as well as permitted
harvesting without destroying the bee colony. These hives were the forerunners of today s most
common hive, the Langstroth. These accomplishments of Carniolan culture were generated by
both the landed gentry and the common farmer, but the main subject of this essay, the painted hive
panels, truly transcended class as a form of expression even the poorest beekeeper could indulge
in. In Slovenia, there is one man whom is celebrated as the greatest beekeeper in history, and his
name is Anton Jansa (1734 1773) (Rojina,

History of Health Insurance Essay
Healthcare didn t always exist in the United States. Before the 1920 s, most people didn t have
health coverage. Most people were treated at home and hardly anyone, except a few large
employers offered healthcare. Everyone else paid out of pocket. As the population shifted from
rural areas to urban centers, families lived in smaller homes with less room to care for sick
family members (Faulkner 1960, p. 509). Increasing requirements for licensing and accreditation,
in addition to a rising demand for medical care, eventually led to rising costs. By the end of 1920s,
there was an increased demand for medical care and the costs of medical care increased.
During the time of the Great Depression and after, medical service plans grew. In the... Show more

Also, a lack of insurance is a huge financial burden for individuals and their families. Lack of health
insurance has social consequences, as well. Some diseases are highly contagious and can be spread
easily to family members, friends, colleagues, co workers and others, one may come in contact
with. With health insurance, these contagious diseases can be contained and cured or treated more
quickly and cost effectively. People without health insurance have limited, reduced access to
services of preventive care, like cancer screening.
Moreover, the benefits of expanding coverage outweigh the costs for added services. [4] Safety
net care from hospitals and clinics improves access to care but does not fully substitute for health
insurance. These findings are supported by much research, although some cautions are appropriate
in using these results. People with health insurance are protected against uncertain and high
medical expenses and are more likely to receive needed and appropriate health care. In addition,
having health insurance is associated with improved health outcomes and lower mortality, so
employees with health insurance are more likely to be productive workers. You do not pay income
tax on health insurance benefits so it is more valuable per dollar than the same amount in taxable
pay. [5]

Companies provide employees with health insurance and health care benefits. What happens is

Italian Wedding Advantages And Disadvantages
In bygone Italy, wedding event celebrations kicked off in the morning, ideally on a Sunday.
Regional Italian folklore controlled that couples need to never ever wed (or leave for their
honeymoon) on a Friday or Tuesday, or they would certainly be expecteded to have loads of
misfortune, while Saturdays were booked for widows obtaining hitched to husband second (or 3,
or four ...). Outfit: In enhancement to a white dress, the flushing bride to be s face would
certainly be concealed beneath a veil a symbol of her virginity and to shield her from rowdy
spirits. The groom hauled a sheet of iron (preferably a little one) in his pocket to ward off wicked
spirits. Activities: Italian brides and grooms made their method to the church walking.... Show more

The Dangers Of Self Driving
Have you ever seen someone while driving, doing something dangerous? Such as texting, talking
on the phone, eating, and even doing their makeup. Doing such acts can cause catastrophic results.
In drivers Ed, I learned that if you look away from the road for just two seconds, you can end up
being on your way to the hospital. With self drivingtechnology, many shattering wrecks could
have been prevented. Sure, self driving technology may malfunction or even be hacked, but there
are tons of computerized machines like traffic lights, robots in factories, phones and there is
hardly any news about them being hacked. With technology advancing, there are people who
cannot resist the notification sounds that their phone makes while driving. Human beings are
hasty and do their makeup while driving or getting their breakfast or lunch in. With such acts,
driverless cars are beneficial because of distractibility, safety, and rewards. To begin with,
smartphones have become like a drug to people, some cannot live without it and have to have it
with them at all times. Firstly, human distractions while driving puts everyone around in danger.
For example, Jake Pelini author of Unsafe at any Speed shares, that if the distractions were
eliminated 4 million of the 11 million crashes that happen annually could have been eradicated
(Pelini). Thus, removing all distractions while driving could save millions of lives. Secondly,
multitasking is not as easy as it looks. For instance, Jake Pelini

Extreme Altruism...
INTRO 500words
For my Personal Interest Project I have chosen to study extreme altruism, people who risk their for
the good of another person. The reasoning that got my attention at choosing this topic was that of a
personal family death which involved Altruism that occurred when I was younger.
My links to the course are conformity and non conformity, continuity and change and how people
behave in groups, also what aspect of identity or self encourages some to care to the extreme and
express a willingness to risk their life while others do not. My link to continuity and change
focuses on past generation and whether people were more or less likely inclined to help others.
My research methods include interviews, data analysis and a questionnaire. I used interviews to
create three case studies about people who have risked their life to save other people. Data
analysis was used to analyse the nature of recipients of the 2015 bravery awards in Australia and
to establish any trends in the nature of the altruistic behaviour. My questionnaire involved 540
respondents, chosen from a variety of workplaces, schoolmates and family and friends in a
provincial city, I chose this technique as it allows me to get a more accurate first person response
and gives me an access a range of opinions.
From the data of my data analysis and questionnaire and research from sociobiologist theories I
investigate the cross cultural aspect on whether genres have a

Cobra Beer
This strategic report analyses several different factors in regards to Cobra Beer. The analysis
was focused on the UK market and beer industry. The first section of the report looks at analysing
Cobra Beer s external environment via a microenvironment analysis. It accomplishes this in the
form of a PESTEL and Porter s 5 Forces analysis. PESTEL was examined in regards to the Beer
industry and it looked at several issues, and analysed the critical issues in detail. Porters 5 forces
looked at the industry s sources of rivalry. Issues and problems were viewed for both with solutions
seen at the end of the report. The external environment subsequently concluded that the beer
industry is a very attractive but not a profitable one, as it s comfortable to enter but tough to
construct profits.
Analysis of the internal environment was later examined through the resource based view. This
looked at the resources and capabilities of Cobra Beer and analysed what resources and
capabilities they have, and how they come together to create a competitive advantage. Issues and

Why Carter Center Won The Nobel Peace Prize
Nobel Peace Prize What would you do if your entire nation is being ravaged by a disease that you
don t know how to treat? That s where The Carter Center stepped in to aid struggling families in
Africa. Led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, they were able to bring cures to
villages that have none. Some people may say that the Carters just want to gain media attention
but I will prove that is not the case. The purpose of this essay is to show why I believe the Carter
Center should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The first reason why The Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace prize is they assist people in
thousands of villages with diseases that don t have a cure in their country. The biggest epidemic
that the Carter Center was involved in was the Guinea worm disease. In just one years time the
Center reduced the disease by a whopping 99 percent! That number decreased from 3.5 million to
less then 11,000. Since the Center has many people to help throughout the world, they teach the
people who are at the center of the disease to cure it themselves. To do this, the Carter Center train
volunteers within the thousands of villages who are the main reason the diseases are cured.
However, this not the only reason the Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace Prize. ... Show

To cure Guinea worm they took an extremely low tech approach. One of the main ways they
stopped the disease was to keep people from drinking contaminated water. They built wells,
treated water to kill fleas, and also filtered water. The simplest way they destroyed the disease
was by handing out pipe filters. Pipe filters are small portable water purification plants that look
like a piece of jewelry. It has a fine screen at the bottom that filters out fleas making any water
source safe to drink. What more could they have done to help those

Early modern collections of 16th and 17th c., transfused with humanistic ideas of theatre of the
world or the microcosm, compiled of natural and man made objects, functioned as microscopic
worlds within the patron s environment over which he had dominion. Cultural history provides the
most applicable theoretical discourse to approach collections as constructs, as they were not divided
into disciplines but were rather elements of a world as a whole, which constituted of objects.
Collections were, therefore, constructions of the conceived reality or conceptual systems through
which collectors interpreted and explored the world they inhabited . Furthermore, early modern

Jakob Fugger and Jacopo Strada were key figures in the construction of the court library and the
Antiquarium for which they sought acquisitions. Antiquarium that housed a collection of classical
sculptures, developed as the locus for self promotion as a legitimate ruling house that could be
traced back to antiquity through famous ancestors and mythical virtuous models . Furthermore,
Samuel Quiccheberg s account on the ideal museum Inscriptiones played a key role within the
collection as it presented the collection as an order and a concern of the state, an archive of
everything connecting to the history of the present reign. Thus, Abrecht V s passion for building a
universal collection correlated with Samuel Quiccheberg s theoretical considerations, in which
practice and theory supplemented each other . The example of Albrecht V collection in Munich,
thus, provides an example of a collection functioning as a construct of political legitimacy.
Transfused with humanistic approach towards collecting that focused on creation of the microcosm
within one s environment through objects spanning various disciplines, it reflects how cultural
history can assist one in dissecting the ideology behind the collection. In addition, it highlights how
various agents were of key importance in the process, not limited to the patron

5 Actions That Bring You Success Beyond Your Life Coaching Certification
By David Gikandi

Sure, life coaching certification does enable a life coach to stand out from the crowd and add value
to their work and their brand. However, certification is not absolutely necessary if you want to
become a good or even a great life coach. If you re looking for more achievement and recognition,
you can improve your life coaching practice dramatically with the following 5 simple actions, which
will get you much further than any life coaching certification can. Although these suggestions are
straightforward, most of them will require constant attention for a little while until they become

They also keep the bigger picture in mind, so minor challenges are just that minor.
If you want to be wealthy, do you have positive attitudes about wealth and wealthy people? If you
want to be healthy, do you have a positive outlook about that? Your attitudes must be congruent
with your objectives.
3. Everything starts internally; seeing outside changes in your life takes time.
4. Be organized and focused. Before you go to bed each night, make a list with all the things you
want to accomplish the next day. Doing this at night gives your brain a chance to work on things
in your sleep. Also, you ll feel much better when you can start the day with a clear objective
instead of spending time trying to figure out what to do.
5. Have goals. Your brain is tremendously good at finding solutions. You can help it out by doing
a good job of outlining and prioritizing your objectives. The simplest way to do this is to write
down your goal and include a deadline. Now your brain knows what to work on and when to have
it accomplished. You can do this for your own matters or for finding solutions for your

The Key Engine Of Economic And Social Progress Essay
The Software is used in every detail of social life and is becoming the key engine of economic
and social progress which affects social and economic development. Nowadays, our live relies
more and more on the correct execution of software, whether a software is on our equipment (cell
phones, engine injection, etc.), in the business we undertake each day (credit or debit card
purchases, fund transfer, internet usage, electronic mail, etc.), or even those that are hidden from
view (back office software for transaction processing), the software simplifies our daily lives, so
when it goes askew, it affects our lives.
On January 1st, 2010, millions of Germans cannot use their credit cards properly, where no early
warning sign informed them, and they found themselves, the day after New York celebrations,
they cannot buy anything from retail shops or withdraw cash from ATMs. There were some
people who took the holiday period to go abroad; they surveyed more than others where they did
not even have probability to go the bank to withdraw cash (HomГЁs 2013). During its first week
of commercial operation on the Paris to New York route, on 20th of November, 2009, the Airbus
A380 was forced to return to New York during because the failure of the software which is the
autopilot function of the Airbus A380. So the passengers were dispatched to other flights. Such a
software problem could have been a lot more serious (HomГЁs 2013). Another example of software

Loren Eiseley was a strong autobiographical nature writer who was also contemporary in some

and a unstable mother. As a child Loren spent his childhood writing stories and poetry, this was an
interest of his at a early age resulting him to his future of being a nature writer. Loren Eiseley
eventually became a professor in Pennsylvania teaching anthropology. In the mid 20th century he

To me being in a city like New York and going to the train station is something so far from nature.
Loren has seen a different way of looking at this in a nature way, since he observes the crows and
pigeons. Not only does Loren Eiseley talk bout New York but also his experiences in the forests
of nature. He has said You may put it that I had come over a mountain, that I had slogged through
fern and pine needles for half a long day, and that on the edge of a little glade with one long,
crooked branch extending across it, I had sat down to rest with my back against a stump.
Through accident I was concealed from the glade, although I could see into it perfectly. The sun
was warm there, and the murmurs of the forest life blurred softly into my sleep. When I awoke,
dimly aware of some commotion and outcry in the clearing, the light was slanting down through
the pines in such a way that the glade was lit like some vast cathedral. I could see the dust motes
of the wood pollen in the long shaft of light, and there on the extended branch sat an enormous
raven with red and squirming nestling in his beak. In this passage Loren Eiseley was so
descriptive I could imagine him trudging through the ferns and the pine forests falling asleep next

War Between Countries And The Time Frame Of The Vast...
I would like to know more in depth what happened during major wars in the past hundred years
as well as the weapons that changed war since then. History throughout time has been in great
interest to me because it is fun to learn about why certain events happened in time and the impact
that resulted. The topic war, in particular, is the most fascinating thing that occurs throughout
history to me because of the fact that it has been used as a way to dispute conflicts between
countries and the time frame of the vast advancements that have been made in weaponry in the
past one hundred years. I feel I have accumulated basic knowledge about war throughout my high
school years by taking world and U.S history courses. These courses were the easiest for me to
learn because I was real intrigued to know why something happened which led for another event
to happen. To begin my search process, I thought of material I already knew for my subject.
Then after coming to a conclusions on material I felt like learning more about, I began reading
material off ordinary websites on my laptop. Discovering that some websites were useless led
me to rethink my choices. While reconsidering what to do, I simply went to the C.O.S academic
data base and clicked on the links SIRS Issue Researcher and Global Issues in Context . These are
the primary tools I used for most of my research. At first it was difficult due to some of the articles
not containing the information I needed and were just boring.

  • 2. Building Effective Teams And Teamwork, And Leading... Group skills are comprised of 3 core aspects which are: empowering and engaging others, building effective teams and teamwork, and leading positive change. Each one of these core elements is very important in developing group skills and can always be improved if the proper approach is taken. Effective empowering and engagement is made up of 9 various dimensions. For example, personal mastery experiences, modeling, providing support, arousing positive emotions, providing information, providing resources, organizing teams, creating confidence, and delegating work are all dimensions making up effective empowermentand engagement. I received a 12 for all of the elements listed and a 60 for delegating work which gives me a sum score of 156, placing me in the high ability to empower others quartile. I agree with this score, because I like to help and give others the opportunities to shine and reach their potential. I like to think of myself as a self less person and help others grow and reach their potential and accompany on my journey as well. Personal mastery experiences are experiences that give employees the confidence and ability to be successful at a particular assigned duty. Modeling is how the leader goes to serve as an example for empowering others. Providing support is the extent in which a leader helps employees feel empowered through help and insight. Arousing positive emotions is a way of circumventing issues of anxiety and fear. Providing information and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Office Apparel Research Paper The combination of Women s fashion and proper office apparel offers a unique challenge to any fashion designer; and the fashion trend for Spring 2009 is no exception. For Spring 2009 the fashion industry offers fabrics that are sheer, soft and flowing and full of color. Platform heels are back as well as cardigans. If you are looking to build your office wardrobe, here are five of the hottest trends for Spring 2009 s appropriate office apparel. And the nice thing is, they can be bought at Walmart, or any other store of your choice. 1. If you do much walking around in your office, or a lot of standing, you might be more comfortable in flat Mary Jane s. These shoes are quite stylish, and very feminine. 3. • 4. October Revolution Problems Lenin and Problems After the October Revolution The initial difficulties faced by the new Soviet Union were to severe that its survival seemed almost miraculous. The remains of the czarist regime left Lenin to face a country wrought with war, devastated economically. Russia s involvement in World War I, followed by its Civil War, wide spread famine and a change in political and social ideology were the problems confronting Lenin after the October Revolution. Lenin did succeed in ending both the war with Germany and the Civil War for Russia. Yet, the economic and social aspects of the revolution can be more critically assessed. Lenin knew the importance of ending Russian involvement in World War I. On March 3, 1918 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As in the case of the World War, a simple end to the fighting did not signify an end to the devastation that had been left as a consequence. The economic and social problems that arose from the end of the czarist regime were dealt with by Lenin initially unsuccessfully. War communism, a forced socialized economic policy began with the confiscation of surplus grain. It then extended to all other products. Abusive detachments fought peasant resistance with the terror of the Red Army, and in 1919 when they gained control, with the Extraordinary Commission (Cheka). What Lenin had thought would bring the triumph of communism rendered only misery and disorder. The Kronstadt Revolt in February, 1921 is an example of the indignation felt by those that saw the Bolshevik s policies as too oppressive. Finally, Lenin sees that a transition period is necessary, and denounces war communism for its impractical severity. Up until this point the disastrous economic and social problems of the nation were not dealt with successfully. Both World War I and the Civil War left rampant destruction in Russia s agricultural production. Drought as well as the failure of war communism led to wide spread famine. At this point Lenin introduced gradual economic measures that began as agricultural policies. According to British historian E.H. Carr, Lenin s New Economic Policy increased from food production to trade, to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Roman Polanski s Memoirs Of A Pianist Roman Polanski s heartfelt and honorable interpretation of the true horrors of the Holocaust, (based on the memoir of famed Polish pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman,) appears at face value as just another blockbuster period piece. Yet it offers so much more. Polanski expertly crafts filmmaking artistry with true life, allowing the viewer to be completely immersed in a time previously known to them only through history books. Upon the first viewing I was restless, overwhelmed and unsuspecting of the sheer weight of what I had previously considered to be another film pandering to an audience of mock sympathy. By watching it a second time, I was fully capable of appreciating the stunning and emotionally demanding story of one man s (at times, reluctant)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One scene in particular achieved this goal completely. During one of the final scenes of the film, Szpilman is in hiding, and attempts to open a can of soup. He creeps out of his hiding spot in an old abandoned house to find something to open the can with. As he attempts to pry the can open, he falls directly in the sight of an SS Officer. Instead of shooting him, the officer asks Szpilman a few questions, resulting in Szpilman playing piano for the Nazi. As tense and emotional as this scene is to watch, the audience also receives a moment of joy. Polanski uses a high angle to give the audience the impression that they too are looking down on Szpilman as he plays the piano, making him look even weaker and trapped than he already was. However, the camera angle then alternates, showing the audience the Nazi officer and Szpilman on the same level, allowing us a brief moment of tenderness in an otherwise violent and depressing world. As Szpilman plays, direct sunlight illuminates him, highlighting the pain and anguish written on his face. (2:01 2:07) This scene is certainly romanticized from the original version as told to us by Szpilman. In his memoir, he declares, Do what you like to me. I m not leaving from here. (Page 177) It is hard to distinguish truth from fiction in this account. Did Szpilman really speak with such courage, with such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Middle Schoolers ]When I was in the second grade my school bus broke down on the way home and we had to call for a bus from the middle school to finish dropping us off. I sat huddled in the torn green back seats with five boys from my class listening intently as a sixth grader explained to us some of the games the middle schoolers played at recess. It s called FMK. Fuck, Marry, Kill. You have to choose which person you would fuck, marry, or kill. Some of the boys giggled but some stayed quiet, not understanding what he meant. The older boy, Josh, relished in the moment, thinking it funny that he knew so much more than us and giddy to be the one to corrupt our young minds. He said, Okay I ll give an example so you understand. Gerard you have to choose, FMK Johnny, Kevin, or Veronica. You d have to choose to fuck Veronica and marry and kill Kevin or Johnny because you can t fuck a boy if you re a boy. Moms and dads fuck, it s how they make the babies. If there were more girls here, you d have to choose which one you d rather make a baby with. Which one is prettier. The game made me uncomfortable, though at seven years old I could not identify why. I figured that Josh was right. It did, after all, make sense. Moms and dads did make babies, and so, I went along with the game. Sitting in the back of that bus with five of my male friends as he told them I filled the, fuck, choice was the first time I ever had to consider myself a sexual entity and a heterosexual one at that. Weight rooms, much like the one I grew to know here in Aberdeen, are the beginning to so many dreams coming true. The bright lights and loud music invite you into a place of team building and hard work. In the weight room at Aberdeen Central High School, the comforting sound of weights hitting the floor became home. I looked to the records on the wall with fondness, motivating me to learn what hard work was and how to be patient in letting it pay off. Fitness centers have become a business and because a workout is necessary, as an every day routine, it needs to be convenient and close to where people work or live. International Health, Racquet and Sports club Association identifies that booming fitness clubs are found at the center of marketplaces where there are a lot of residents and social network. To add on, with Leeds and Peter von Allmen s evidence in Chapter 6: The Public Finance of Sports, the location maximizes the positive externalities associated with the fitness franchise. For example, in hotels, busy metropolitan areas like New York City, and even in universities cost more than a regular membership nearby one s house. In hotels, fitness centers are usually provided with hotels fee and operate twenty four hours with almost the same fitness equipment as other fitness centers. As people are traveling from one place to another also known as leisure time, the days of overeating become obsessive and that is where gym facilities are being made into profit. The wellness travel kit in hotels often includes mind and body activities, beauty treatments, yoga classes, and even cross fit training. Also, recreational centers in the greater city across the United States have become evident. • 10. An Argument Against Auteur Theory. Auteurism: A Disease of Greatness. The term Auteur seems to bless a privileged group of filmmakers with an almost messiah like legacy. Men such as Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford and Fritz Lange are believed to inhabit the ranks of the cinematic elite, and not surprisingly most critics are more than willing to bestow upon them the title of Auteur. By regarding filmmaking as yet another form of art, Auteur theory stipulates that a film is the direct result of its director s genius. With the emerging prominence of auteur based criticism in the 1950?s, the role of the director became increasingly integral to a film s success. However most would argue that this form of criticism didn t reach its apex until 1960s, when Andrew Sarris released his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He merely didn t adhere to a set of criteria which could safely classify his work as art . When asked why he was not respected by American critics, as he is in Europe, Corman responded, Ordinarly there is a great deal of snobbery from American film critics, they will accept a film by Stanley Kramer as a work of art before they see it, or a film from a European director...but they unloose their ire against low or medium budget Hollywood productions 3 Considered one of the greatest of all American directors, John Ford would no doubt be regarded an auteur by those who choose to utilize the phrase. One can imagine Ford carefully weaving beautiful images of monument valley, to fulfill his artistic allegories, or demanding the most effective of performances from a cast who manage to convey the emotions which stir inside this most American of auteurs. Just as Corman seems to put a great deal of philosophical thought into crafting what many consider to be simple films, Ford seems to suggest that his cinematic choices are often over analyzed. In an interview with fellow western film director Burt Kennedy, Ford was asked about some of these choices, which have come to define much of his style, and his answers are surprisingly simplistic. When questioned about his connection to Monument Valley, and the reasoning behind choosing that location, Ford responded I knew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moral Law vs. Political Law in Sophocles’ Antigone Essay One has the capability to determine from right and wrong and having the determination to stand up for what one believes in, no matter what the price is. In Sophocles Antigone, a written dramatic play, Sophocles portrays the theme that at times of one s life, it is necessary to follow moral law and ignore political law. Antigone is acting as if she were a rebellious teenager because she is contradicting political laws to perform acts that would seem moral to her for the sake of Polyneices. Like the discussion Antigone had with her sister, she will remain being headstrong to whoever confronts her. Later in the play, Antigone was captured for being caught in the act of burying her brother and is now conversing with King Creon about her decision made to revolt. The CCJ is the highest appellate court for Barbados Guyana and Belize however all the other islands retain the Privy Council as their final appellate court. Another distinguishing feature is that the CCJ can interpret the Treaty and apply it to our legal systems only where possible. This limitation means that it has to be done within the confines of the different laws of the islands. If you go camping, you usually build a fire to sit around at night. Have you ever wondered why a marshmallow cooks without touching the flame, why the smoke rises, or why water in a pan boils? Heatcan move from one object to another in three different ways: conduction, convection and radiation. Some sources of heat may include the following: the sun, friction, and the earth. Life on earth depends on the sun. The sun provides heat/light for the entire solar system. A person could generate a fire by rubbing two sticks together. The Earth contains much heat seep inside. Some of the heat escapes to the surface ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thermal energy radiates through air from a fire causing the fire s energy to transfer to the marshmallow. As stated before, thermal conductor occurs when particles of warmer matter bump into particles of cooler matter and transfer some of their thermal energy to the cooler particles. Conduction is usually faster in certain solids and liquids than in gases. Returning to the example of a camp fire; what happens if you use an old metal hangar to roast hot dogs? As the hot dogs cooks, the fire heats the end of the hanger. If we leave the hanger in the fire long enough, eventually the end we are holding will become too hot for us to handle. The flames to the metal were transferred by the heat, and then from molecule to molecule in the hanger. Now, what would have happened if you had chosen a stick to roast your hot dog? Though the stick may have caught fire, it would not have conducted the heat to your hand. This is because wood is a very poor heat conductor. Heat insulators are materials that do not let heat move through them easily. They do not conduct heat well. Plastic, wood and some fabrics are good thermal insulators. Thermal insulators are good at keeping heat out and keeping heat in. A winter scarf is a good example of a thermal insulator. It stops the heat from your body escaping into the cold air. Tragedy is a form of drama based on human suffering that invokes an accompanying catharsis or pleasure in audiences (Banham). Moreover, some scholars suggest tragedy is the mirror image or negative of comedy. For instead of depicting the rise in circumstances of a dejected or outcast underdog, tragedy shows us the downfall of a once prominent and powerful hero. Ignorance of the Buddha s teachings, might attribute all happiness and suffering to some external cause, believing that happiness and suffering come from the environment, or from the gods, and that everything that happens originates in some source outside of one s control. If one believes this, then it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to envisage eliminating suffering and its causes which is in itself an extremely pessimistic point of view. People like Ralph lauren, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger tapped into hip hop culture and gave very little in return. It first consisted of baggy shirts, sagging pants and jerseys. Then people like Jay Z linked up with brands like louis vuitton to create their own fashion lines. The clothes got tighter, classically fashionable and much more expensive. Clothing will always evolve with the dancers and music to fit the style of that era. Hip Hop dancing has multiple different styles that can be put together or left alone to form a unique dance. • 32. The Ethical Theory Of Ethical Theories Essay Ethical theories are concepts or moral values that dictate whether choices are right or wrong. The two ethical theories that are the most prominent in society are Utilitarianism and Deontology. Utilitarianism is a theory that judges the value of the action as good or bad based on the consequences of the deed, while Deontology believes the motive of the act is more important. When determining the value of the decisions, the variables are based on the guidelines of each ethical theory. This includes providing the basis of how to make logical decisions founded on ethical reasoning. Unfortunately, there are many situations where individual s rights are threatened due to unethical and unmoral situations like sexual harassment in the workplace. To prevent similar situations from occurring, individuals must be able to fully understand when to apply the use of ethicsto decision making. For this type of mindset to take place, the public needs to be educated on the different types of ethical ideologies, and know how to approach situations based on ethical solutions. Once the public is aware of the ethical theories and how to avoid unethical situations, there will a decreased amount of sexual harassment in the workplace. Utilitarianism, also known as consequentialism, is a theory where actions are considered good or bad depending on the consequences of the actions, not the motives. In Utilitarianism, the main goal of the theory is to maximize the most amount of good for all people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While there are many cohesive religious systems, what makes Hinduism unique is that it is categorized as many Indian religious ways formed together to make one single religion. (Fisher, 73). In Hinduism, there have been three gods that are vital in the religious aspect life of Hinduism. These three gods, BrahmДЃ,Vishnu, and Shiva, represent the three forces of creation, preservation, and destruction in Hinduism and when they are linked together, primarily in philosophy and art, they are often called the TrimЕ«rti, which means triple form. His status isn t equal to that of Vishnu or Shiva. However, BrahmДЃ still appears in more myths than almost every other Hindu god, very often including Vishnu and Shiva, especially in the Puranas. One very popular myth is when Shiva appears before both BrahmДЃ and Vishnu in the form of a flaming phallus and tells BrahmДЃ that he will never again be worshipped in India because he was being punished for having wrongly declared that he saw the tip of the infinite pillar (Doniger, 1023). We can also see in the many versions of the Submarine Mare myth that Brahma plays a large role as well. In this myth, a giant fire was threatening the universe so Brahma put the fire in the body of a mare with fiery ambrosia in her mouth and then put the mare in the ocean to be kept until the final flood (Caldwell, 86). Another incident where the three gods of the Trimurti are classified together in a myth is when Prithu, an ancient Hindu king, was being sanctified as a king. The three gods of the Trimurti were each giving Prithu a gift at the celebration with Brahma giving him an armour of Vedic incantations, Vishnu giving him the sudarЕ›ana discus, and Shiva giving him a sword engraved with ten moons like marks. Brahma s gift intentionally was to relate to spiritual force, while Vishnu s related to physical force and Shiva s gift to fertility (the moon being a symbol of production) (Bailey, 157 158). Another example of the Trimurti functioning together develops in a description of the lingodbhava myth. In this scenario, Brahma is described approaching Vishnu, who was reclined on his snake couch with many servants to his beckon call and his great power was on display as Vishnu was personifying himself as a female. This fact alone speaks to the depth of the Slovenian beekeeping tradition, but that is only the beginning of the story. While the rest of Europe were using the traditional straw skep hive (Supplementary Figure S1), Carniolan beekeepers were using their wooden bee houses (Supplementary Figure S2) which contained multiple reusable hives composed of movable frames (Rojina, 1917). The impact these hives had when Slovenian beekeeper Anton Jansa introduced them to the broader Austro Hungarian Empire was massive. Apiary production soared, the total value of Austria s production alone multiplying by five times in a year (Rojina, 1917). Traditional skep hives were destroyed, and the bee colony along with them, during the harvesting process. Additionally, they were hotbeds of disease because they could not be opened for inspection or treatment. The Carniolan hive allowed easy inspection and treatment, as well as permitted harvesting without destroying the bee colony. These hives were the forerunners of today s most common hive, the Langstroth. Most people were treated at home and hardly anyone, except a few large employers offered healthcare. Everyone else paid out of pocket. As the population shifted from rural areas to urban centers, families lived in smaller homes with less room to care for sick family members (Faulkner 1960, p. 509). Increasing requirements for licensing and accreditation, in addition to a rising demand for medical care, eventually led to rising costs.
