Essay about Russia Change over Time
With many new factors making the world globalized and as steps were taken toward
modernization in the 1700s, the world underwent many changes, however still keeping some of its
initial traditions. From 1700 1900 in Eastern Europe, the economy had switched from agricultural
to manufacturing due to the growth of factories and industry in the 1800s and serfdom was
abolished, however the tsars still remained the center of authority. In 1700, the world was
becoming globalized as the New World was brought into the world economy. Most nations were
ruled by absolute monarchies with divine right. This was true in Eastern Europe, where the tsars of
Russiahad complete control. Society had a rigid social structure based on serfdom and there was...

The economy of Eastern Europe in 1700 was based on that of agriculture and products such as
wheat and barley because serfdom was still thriving in Russia. The serfs were the labor force
and basis of the feudalistic type society until the reign of Alexander II. However, while other
nations were becoming modern, the Russia economy was backwards compared to the rest of the
world due to the fact that is was based on a form of slavery. But when industrialization occurred
in Russia in the 1860s the economy had gradually switched to that manufactured good as factory
and industry increased. The railroads from industrialization allowed for easy trade across vast and
mountainous territory and also increased global trade with nations in the West as Russia could
trade their various natural resources for a profit. However, by 1900 Russian s economy was
collapsing as they were still not industrializing a quick as the West and agricultural technology was
not as up to date. In 1700 in Eastern Europe, the Russia tsar Peter the Great was the head figure in
the government, and this continued up until Russia s last tsar Nicholas II. In the 1700s, the tsars of
Russia practiced absolutism, claiming divine right and having complete authority over their
subjects. However, by the 1850s after the embarrassing losses in the Crimean War, due to the fact
that Russia was far behind the West in technology, opposition against the tsar began to grow. In the
1860s, when

Now as you are resting so quietly there with your eyes closed.... I am going to help you to relax

And in between each count.... I will use the words drifting deeper and deeper . And you ll find....
As this count progresses... that you can drift into that trance state. As I count, you can help too as
you tell yourself... I am going deeper and deeper into hypnosis .
Now it doesn t matter if your mind wanders.... It doesn t matter if you lose awareness altogether....
All that matters now is your own relaxation.... so just be comfortable... allow yourself the pleasure

You could just leave your hands in your lap comfortably, just as they are now.
Look how pretty your hands look and how beautiful your nails are. Keep them like this, as they are
a very important part of your personality. Keep them beautiful and neat.
Now I leave you for a few moments to admire how happy you are, also to admire your beautiful
hands. And when we come back I want that beautiful, confident feeling to travel with you to the
Present and to the Future and make it stay with you forever.
GIVE A FEW MOMENTS....
That s good... you are really doing well. Now I want you to bring that confidence with you in the
present and remember that how you find it so easy to not bite your nails any more. It ll come to
you naturally, as you will remind yourself with an irresistible response.... reaching deep in the
subconscious of your mind that you will never do it again, under any circumstances. And this
confidence will remain with you in the future.
Now as you own this new confidence and happiness I will be bringing you back to the real

with you a feeling of strength and of self awareness, of you as a stronger and more positive

circumstances now. A feeling that will only grow stronger and stronger with each new day.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Crisis
Crisis refers to a person s reaction to a particular event. One person might be deeply affected
while the other has little or no ill effects to the same event. It presents a obstacle, threat or trauma
but at the same time it gives opportunity for either growth or decline. The events that trigger a
crisis can be from a wide range of life experiences, from development hurdles such as puberty to
natural disasters to the death of a loved one. When people face a crisis, they can experience a
range of physical and physiological symptoms as well as changes in their normal routines and
relationships. Crisis intervention refers to the immediate and temporary methods used to help the
individual or the group affected by the crisis. It refers to the methods which helps to reduce the

This stage can generally be the most challenging to achieve in crisis intervention. Clients in crisis,
by definition, shortfall in the equanimity to review the entire perspective and tend to firmly clasp to
usual ways of managing even when they are having an opposite effect, backfiring. Nevertheless, if
stage five has been accomplished, the client in crisis has apparently worked through sufficient
feelings and emotions to resume some emotional balance. Now, the crisis interventionist and client
can start to set ideas and alternatives on the table, like a no suicide agreement or short

essential to keep in mind that these alternatives are better when they are produced collaboratively
and when the alternatives chosen are owned by the client. The crisis interventionist without doubt
can look into what the client has found that helps in akin circumstances. Solution focused therapy

Stigmatization Of Madness In Don Quixote
Our delight in or respect for his madness and its wonderful connections to the imagination does not
take away from our genuine pain at his humiliation. Though Don Quixote is humiliated on every
page of the book, it is only in this п¬Ѓnal humiliation when he becomes a rational observer of his
past insane life and views it with profound regret that we actually enter into real sympathetic pain
with him. Until this point, he is an object of our mirth. Once he becomes aware that his
perception of reality was in error and that his actions were, therefore, not a product of his
autonomous self, we feel genuine compassion for him. His realization that his hyper vigilance
about his dignity as a knight errant was delusional is a serious indignity for him. He has been in
error about reality, and everyone has known it except for him. People have gone along with him in
a patronizing way.
In Cervantes s Don Quixote, we can see remarkably clear pictures of both the kind of unfair
stigmatization of madness that McKay and Mitchell decry and the essentially demeaning nature of
insanity to which Gardner and Macklem draw our attention. Don Quixote is treated with astounding
cruelty. He is made an object of ridicule and trickery by almost everyone he meets.
As Nietzsche says: Today we read Don Quixote with a bitter taste in our mouths, almost with a
feeling of torment, and would thus seem very strange and incomprehensible to its author and his
contemporaries: they read it with the clearest

Culture and Cross-Cultural Linkages in American Music Essay
Culture and Cross Cultural Linkages in American Music
I have recently been listening to a lot of Motown music and even jazz. I have never before
explored music in the extent that I have done this semester. I always thought of myself as cultured
but this semester, I ve begun to realize there are more areas of music that I have not explored than
those which I have. And as I explore culture and cross cultural linkages in our music, I realize how
much one generation s music speaks to the next.
Currently, the song I am intrigued by is Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday. This song is very moving.
When Billie Holiday sings, you MUST listen. However, this song, unlike most of her other music,
is not about love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The imagery is vivid. You can see and smell everything Holiday sings. It is through this song that I
can really connect with the generation of people that dealt with such issues.
My parents never really listened to music as I grew up. My grandparents used to always have
country music playing in the background no matter what was going on. In my early years, this
was the extent of my musical background. I received my first record player when I was in 1st or
2nd grade. I remember it was red and blue. It was a Disney record player that played all my
favorite Disney records. But it wasn t until I was about 11 or 12 that I really got a test of music.
My grandpa had given me his old yellowed record player/radio. I was ecstatic. It was the first
time that I had the power to listen to whatever I wanted to. It didn t matter what my parents
thought about it. It didn t even matter that they didn t regularly listen to music. So I would turn
that radio on and listen to good ol country music just like my grandparents. I thought it was
wonderful. I never even tried any other station until one day when I was in the 7th or 8th grade.
My friends came over and laughed when they heard the music I was listening to. So we changed it
to some pop radio station. I remember listening to it and telling them that I could not understand it.
The words were spoken way too fast. But I listened on for their sake and was turned on to what was
mainstream music at the time. Since

A Hurt Ballerina Essay
A Hurt Ballerina
What is a ballerina? A ballerina is one who practices the art of ballet. Many ballerinas go through
hardships, but the most devastating is an injury. According to (Schwarz 2000) who states,
Psychologists trying to understand the factors that put athletes and performers at risk for injuries
have found that professional ballet dancers get hurt just as often and suffer just as serious injuries
as athletes in contact sports .(para.1) Not only is it physical, but an injury to a ballerina becomes
emotional. There are many ballerinas, but this is the story of one particular one. I began ballet at
the age of three. I continued until age eight and then I decided to stop ballet, so I could learn to
play the violin. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the fall, I only danced at the studio in Asheville. Even though it meant more time on the road,
I felt like it was the best choice of studios for me. I auditioned again for Moscow Ballet the
Nutcracker and a local company that was beginning. I received a nice part in the ballet Pepita. I
practiced for both ballets, attended my classes, and even added some private lessons. I began
noticing pain in the ankle of the foot I had hurt. I talked with my teacher, and we felt like it was
tendonitis, which is common among ballerinas. I would come home from dance and ice my
ankle regularly. It didn t seem to be healing, so after The Nutcracker, I went back to my general
doctor, in hopes of obtaining a referral to a sports medicine doctor to help with my tendonitis. As
protocol, she sent me for x rays. Much to my dismay, my ankle was broken. It showed my ankle
had been broken in April, not sprained as originally thought, and had not healed. After many many
tears, I went to an orthopedic specialist in Asheville. He recommended surgery to repair my ankle
with a chance it wouldn t completely heal. I left crying without making a surgery appointment. My
mother and I talked and decided it would be best to have the surgery done as soon as possible,

Community Reflection
I chose as my subject University of Cincinnati, the dining halls, the workers there, their personal
communities, the interactions between the workers and the students. and lastly, I am interested in
the workers that cross the bridge between worker and student and take advantage of the free
classes. At first I was interested mostly in the interactions between students and workers. Every
time i walk into a UC dining hall I am struck by the sense of community among the workers. Its
so full of energy I always want to be apart of it. By observation I want to betterunderstand what its
like to belong to this specific community. Like all discourse communities, there is a common
vernacular or dialogue, that I would like to understand a little more clearly. I want to learn more
about it, and understand better the work life balance of this commune of labourers. And how
UC helps to better the environment. Does UC take steps to make the environment comfortable
and enjoyable, and do the employees enjoy their job? Because what the workers get out of their
jobs directly affects the community in and around UC and Cincinnati at large. I learned more
about the jobs and the university s role in these peoples lives. I would like to see how the
university helps to improve these workers lives. The university provides over 15,000 jobs to the
Cincinnati area, and is one of the largest job providers as well. I am curious to see if there are any
other benefits and improvements to the community

Response To Intervention Essay
RTI, is an acronym that has become commonly used in education after No Child Left Behind was
implemented, but what does that acronym mean? Brown Chidsey and Steege quoted Dave Tilly, a
school psychologist, as saying that RTI actually means really terrific instruction! RTI is defined
differently in different states. Some would argue it is Response to Intervention, while others say
that it means Response to Instruction. Brown Chidsey and Steege state that whether you say
intervention or instruction, it does not matter; the importance is that teachers use scientific based
teaching that responds to students learning.
There are several benefits of RTI. First, according to the Nebraska RTI website, research states that

According to the National Center on RTI website, the first step a district needs to take to begin RTI
is to access the needs of the district and gather information on RTI. If RTI meets the needs of the
district, then an action plan should be developed. The district should form a leadership team that
consists of an administrator, general education teacher, special education teacher, and school
psychologist. Next, a universal screener should be adopted. This screener, for example, DIBELS,
should be administered three times a year. Also, professional development should be planned to
assist with the understanding of how RTI works and how the data will drive instruction.
According to the ESU10 RTI website, RTI is an educational service delivery system designed to
provide effective instruction for all students using a comprehensive and preventive problem solving
approach. RTI is a three tiered method of instructional delivery to meet the needs of most students.
The three tiers consist of the core, targeted, and intensive. The tiers represent instructional supports.
Tier one is the utilization of a researched based core instruction program. The district should
implement a universal screener to check for students learning. The goal is for districts to achieve at
least eighty percent of students meeting benchmark. If the student does not meet benchmark, then

The Great Migration Of Chinese Immigrants In The 19th Century
Similar to all the other countries in the 19th century, early Chinese immigrants were pushed by
forces in China and pulled by attractions in the United States. These pushes mainly came from
natural disasters, internal rebellious, and imperialistic aggressions in China. The pulls came from
the discovery of gold in Californiaand different kinds of opportunities in the United States. The
push and pull factors resulted in the great migration of Chinese to the United States.
In the early 1800s, China faced lots of natural disasters. The major ones were happened in Henan
Province in 1847, the flooding of the Yangtze River in the four provinces of Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu,
and Zhejiang. Then two years later, a famine struck Guangxi. As a result,

Prokaryotes And Eukaryotes
Cells, a unique characteristic of life and the start of humanity at its finest. Discovered in 1653,
by a man named of Robert Hooke, coined the term Cells and was credited with it as well. The
scientist said it reminded him of the cells of a monastery. These building blocks of life could be
broken down into several different parts but the main two parts are prokaryote and eukaryote.
Prokaryotes are one celled organisms such as bacteria. Prokaryotes are able to thrive in very harsh
conditions including hydrothermal vents, hot springs, swamps, wetlands, and even the guts of
humans and animals, called extremophiles. Prokaryotes contain a set amount of organelles in which

The mitochondria takes glucose the chloroplast has produced and turns into Adenosine
Triphosphate better known as ATP. The energy source for this plant gives it the ability to
regulate a limited amount of power throughout the cell to perform its usual duties to help the cell
reproduce and maintain its general stability. Along the line another special organelle the helps
the cell regulates the waste products, which is known as the Lysosomes. Lysosomes contain
special enzymes called hydrolytic enzymes that digests the worn out organelles, macromolecules,
and breaks down viruses as well. The Lysosomes comes from the endoplasmic reticulum through
transport vesicles and goes to the Golgi body and that there the Lysosomes then transfers off of
the membrane bound organelle and then awaits the arrival of an intruder through phagocytosis.
Phagocytosis is the process by which a cell often a phagocyte or a protist engulfs a solid particle
to form an internal vesicle known as a phagosome. This here breaks down the invader and
dissolves it to heal the cell. This masculine like structure also breaks down dead organelles and
puts it back into the cell recycling its nutrients for it to use

The Development Of Absolutism During The Nineteenth...
In the course of the seventeenth century, there were many political and religious conflicts within
Europe. These struggles affected countless nations across the continent, but almost none were as
troubled as France due to the years of religious wars fought out within their territories, which
caused widespread chaos in their lands. Both, the upper and lower class citizens were exhausted by
these conflicts and were supportive of a new style of government. In attempt to maintain the
integrity and stability of their country, French kings started to gradually adopt the political ideal of
absolutism to maintain total control over their nation. The final goal of this ideal was to achieve
the good of the state and a higher level of national existence. The development of absolutism in
France can be thoroughly analyzed both in theory and in practice by looking at three kings and
their cardinal advisors who consecutively ruled France leading up too, and in the seventeenth
century. This development of absolutism can be firstly seen through Henry the fourth, followed by
Louis the thirteenth and most prominently in Louis the fourteenth. In the last quarter of the
sixteenth century, France was in the middle of its wars of religion, otherwise known as the
Huguenot Wars. These wars were fought between the reformed Protestants and Catholics which
lead to the death of approximately three million people. In addition to this, these conflicts also
caused widespread disease and starvation

Ester Lucero Essay
Cassie Essary Tim Petete Ethnic American Literature November 12, 2009 Angel s Psyche in
Ester Lucero One of the most fascinating aspects of any story is the formation of it scharacters.
The way the author chooses to describe them, give them personalities, is how the reader will see
their lives. A character s psyche and the way he thinks about events around him change the way a
reader perceives the story. Authors have an amazing chance to shape and bend a storyto fit what they
want it to be through the characterization of the people they write about. If an author is incapable
of making characters believable and understandable, the story won t survive. In Isabel Allendes

Instead, Angel seems to have fixated on Ester as a way of getting past his ownproblems. Ester
became something that he desperately wanted, but could never allow himself to have. She was a
child, and he would not allow himself to touch her for that reason, and because his obsession
with her is what keeps him going. Ester became the focus of all his attention so he didn t have to
deal with anything else in his life. Another issue with Angel is the fact that he has a bullet in his
groin. The women of the town question his masculinity and begin to wonder if maybe the malaria
or that bullet he has there in his crotch rid him forever of a taste for women (Pearson 10). They
don t realize that he has become completely engrossed with Ester and therefore uninterested in the
other women of the town. Since Angel does have a bullet in his groin, and purposefully chose an
unavailable girl to fixate on, it makes the reader wonder if the bullet did cause some sort of
dysfunction. Perhaps the reason that Angel deliberately chose a girl that he could never have was
because he knew women wouldn t want him if they knew that he was impotent. Early on, when it
is Angel s turn with a bride for the moment he found no consolation ...he would have to search for
that girl, if for no other reason than to determine whether she was a mirage (Pearson 9). This passage

Analysis Of To Paint A Water Lily By Ted Hughes
In To Paint a Water Lily by Ted Hughes, the poet utilizes metaphor, personification, and imagery
to display the speaker s attitudes toward nature and the artist s task. Hughes style shows that the
speaker is in awe of the landscape, and his task as an artist becomes to somehow capture the
entirety of the scene before him. To begin, the speaker uses an extended metaphor to set the
scene of the poem. He describes the water lilies as a barrier between two layers of nature. The
layer of lilies roofs the pond s chambers, while it also paves the flies arena. By dividing the scene
into two layers, the speaker shows how complex the scene before him is. The most useful literary
technique that the speaker uses is personification. In personifying

Comparing The Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism
Capitalism is an economic system in a society in which private owners control industry and trade
within a country, rather than the state. Both Karl Marx and Max Weber, have written theories on
how this system develops in countries and creates a nation state that is characterised by production
and wealth. Marx s theory takes more of a top down approach, suggesting that people have little
power in how their society is run. On the other hand, Weber s bottom up approach demonstrates
how people have the ability to initiate capitalismand change their society. Marx s theory of
historical materialism is based on a 5 stage system inevitable of any society, Weber s theory of The
Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalismstates that it was a much smaller group within a feudal
society whose religiosity inadvertently kick started capitalism. Although both these theories look
at how capitalism develops within a society, Marx s macro scale theory is more applicable to
every society, unlike Weber s micro scale approach that focuses on one group within society and
their spirit of capitalism . Naturally, the theories vary due to the time of writing and the economic
or political situation. Marx wrote of historical materialism during a German economic crisis,
whereas Weber wrote his theory a generation after, seeing the economy develop and stabilise. This
impacted the message they were portraying and influenced two opposing theories.

Relevance Accounting History
The relevance of accounting history as an academic discipline This essay will deal with
accounting history and how relevant it is towards academic disciplines. This will be done by
looking at, what history is. The relevance, and implications of accounting history. How accounting
history led to writing research in a creative and informative way. By looking at pedagogy, policy
and practice, and also the main reasons why accounting history is relevant today. 1.What is history
and historical research? History, in the Oxford dictionary is defined as, the study of past events,
especially in human affairs. Historical research presents a essential opportunity for challenging and
worthwhile study from which we hope to increase our ability to make judgements on a vast, more

Relevance of accounting history today: Accounting history makes current issues more
understandable. This is because of the background knowledge known previously. Accounting
history increases the ability to make extensive and more informed judgments because of

really knowing what took place a few decades ago. One of the main advantages of accounting
history is that it could prevent errors and misrepresentations. Accountants will become aware of
what took place in the past and use that as an advantage to improve the future. From the above it

diabetes. It is said that the rise in diabetes is mostly due to type 2 diabetes that lead to hypertension,
insulin resistance, and dyslipidemia. But it is unclear whether the prevalence of type 2 diabetes is
determined by the amount of sugar being consumed. While studies have shown that sugar plays an

prevalence. From the cross national model of diabetes prevalence from 2000 to 2010, there has

by an increase of sugar availability. The Gross Domestic Product coefficient also played a role in
that a 1% increase in GDP resulted in a 1.07% increase in diabetes prevalence. This goes to show
that economic development is an important factor in the prevalence of diabetes. Findings further
showed that sugar significantly correlated with the prevalence of diabetes but the effects of sugar
was independent on the total calorie consumption and obesity. When the obesity factor was

Why I Am A Motor Skill
When observing Presley, with her body size you noticed she is larger than the other children
around her. I was informed by one of the caregivers she is the oldest out of the children there.
Not knowing actual height and weight, comparing her to the other children, she was taller and
looked fuller. Presley is two years old and if fully walking. Under the gross motor skill, the third
element in the dynamic system; practice unbalanced, wide legged, short strides become steady,
smooth gait, Presley was surpassed that stage. She walked with her arms down, not out, and
legs were close together. The other children around her seemed to be in the practice phase. One
fine motor skill I noticed was a mouth skill, pronunciation. Her words were clear, making it
easier to understand what she asked for or talking in general. She said zapatoes , which is a
spanish word for shoes and was said clearly and understood. Presley grasping was more focused
on toys, while I was there she did not get into any altercations(pulling hair/biting) with the other
children. Because Presley is two years old, I noticed more Tertiary Circular Reactions, rather than
primary/secondary circular reaction. For an example of stage six, when Presley was trying to put
the shorts on the doll, she placed the doll on the on the table and when she tried to put the shorts
on the doll would slide forward, making it difficult for her to get the shorts on. She had others

Methods Of An Adult English As A Second Language ( Esl )...
Introduction: The purpose of this paper is to explore the methods are used in an Adult English as a
Second Language (ESL) classroom. I am interested in what types of activities facilitate students
understanding, make students comfortable, and encourage student participation. I chose to
concentrate on this aspect of second language(L2) learning because as a future teacher, I believe it
is important to be mindful and use activities and interactions that appeal and are beneficial to all
students. This study made me more aware of the interactions and activities used in the classroom. In
order to narrow down the investigation, the following three research questions were formulated:
1. What methods are used in the classroom?
2. What activities are used in the classroom and what method do they align with?
3. Do students respond to some activities more than others?
Theoretical Context: There are many methods that have been formed regarding second language
acquisition. According to Brown (2014), the communicative method emphasizes authenticity,
interaction, student centered learning, task based activities, and communication for real world,
meaningful purposes (369). A main tenant of the communicative method is second language

hardwood flooringsurface, sometimes with two sanding cuts, you will get a nice finish whatsoever,
if the floor is uneven, then three sanding cuts will be needed.
Hardwood Flooring Sanding Machines
There are two main types of sanding machines: drum or disk type. Drum sanders have the sandpaper
mounted on a drum that rotates parallel to the plane of the floor, scratching in straight lines in the
direction of the sanding machine. On the other hand, disk sanders are the ones in which the
sandpaper rotates in a circle in the plane of the floor. There are different tools that will facilitate
sanding hardwood floor near the edges of the floor and next to the baseboard.
Choosing the right sandpaper is a very important thing to do, because coarse grits will scratch the
hardwood leaving some marks that will be noticeable. Fine grits are better when you want to have
the best finishing on a hardwood flooring, although it will require additional work. For better
results, start by using the coarse sandpaper, to level the floor and continue to polish the surface
using finer sandpaper.

Correlation Between Self Esteem And Healthy Individuals
Studies relating to CNM relationships have not yet begun to explore the individual s self
esteem. As has already been discussed, the research relating to CNM relationships has provided
a plethora of information supporting healthy relationships and healthy individuals. The next
step is to explore the self esteem of these CNM individuals. Therefore, the purpose of this
research proposal is to explore correlations between self esteem scores on the Rosenberg Self
Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1989) with relationship choice, including polyamory, swinging,
BDSM and open relationships. The researcher believes that based on the evidence presented of
individuals who engage in CNM having many of the same traits as those with higher scores on
self esteem scales that the individuals who engage in CNM will also score high on a self esteem
scale. (For this proposal non consensual non monogamous relationships will be considered
monogamous as it is assumed that at least one party of the couple identifies as being in a
monogamous relationship.) Specifically, the researcher believes that individuals involved in
consensually non monogamous relationships will have self esteem scores similar to the general
population (See Figure 1). In fact, the researcher believes that the scores will be scores associated
with having high self esteem across all types of consensual non monogamies (See Figure 2).

The Questioning of God and the Loss of Faith in Religion...
Searching for the meaning of life, people constantly question religion. What is our purpose?
Why are we here? What is the meaning of our lives? In the third century BC people saw their
lives falling apart; they wanted a new meaning of religion. During this time the Temple was
destroyed, which will be explained further on. The destruction of a significant religious figure
such as the Temple causes people to question the purpose of religion, especially if it is going to fail
them. Ecclesiastes suggests the extent to which theological systems are not just abstract ways of
viewing the world; they answer the questions of life, responding to the issues real people face in
real life situations. Thus, to understand Ecclesiastes, we must... Show more content on

People began to realize that Ecclesiastes ideology truly was a logical explanation for the reason
why they were placed in their current situation. The people also took Ecclesiastes definition of
religion and applied it to their every day lives.
The meaning of life is difficult to explain considering the time period. Ecclesiastes argues that
wisdom cannot achieve its goal; that a remote God rules over a crooked world; and death did not
take virtue or vice into consideration (Anchor Bible Dictionary p.275). Hence, Ecclesiastes
advocated enjoyment as the wisest course of action during youth before the cares of advancing
years made that response impossible (Anchor Bible Dictionary p.275). Ecclesiastes discovers
that people s purpose in life as unknown. In life there is no final ultimate pronouncement, nothing
is achieved and similarly human desires are left unsatisfied (Oxford Annotated Bible p.842).
Ecclesiastes sees life as not changing and not being remembered. To achieve any sort of
meaning of life, one must be wise: for in much wisdom is much vexation (Eccl. 1:18), being
wise will create confusion to those who are not wise, leading towards understanding God s plan.
People who are knowledgeable will be able to comprehend God s divine meaning; that meaning
being to large to grasp by humans. However wisdom will not change one s fate in life. The
inevitable fate for all is the same. What happens to the fool will

Summary Of 13 Most Wanted Men By Alhol Warhol
Instead of taking the rejection with a grain of salt and moving on, Warhol interpreted it as a
challenge to convince others to view him as a serious artist. He realized no one would take him
seriously if he continued to pursue his interests such as displayed in Boys Kissing Boys. Instead
of moving away from his homosexual subject matter altogether, Warhol found other less direct
ways of including it in his work. 13 Most Wanted Men was commissioned to be displayed at the
1964 1965 New York World s fair, but it was painted over within days of its debut in what some
have described as quite literally white washing the work. Warhol printed large images of
criminals side by side who were suspected of being part of the Mafia; the images he gathered
were from a booklet that was released by the NYPD s Commissioner a few months prior to the fair
s opening day. The piece was 20 x20 and done entirely in black and white. Gerard Malanga, Warhol
s studio assistant, said [Andy] thought it would be funny and shocking within the context of a
family outing, in regards to Warhol s choice of subject matter. The subject in this context is the
wanted men. On the surface of the work, it features mugshots of thirteen criminals, however, there
is a double meaning placed within the title of the work. Warhol is toying with the notion that law
enforcement officials were not the only ones who want men. The entire piece is built around a pun
with homosexual undertones. The portraits are

The Pros And Cons Of Birth Control
Since the beginning of mankind, humans have found and used different forms of contraception to
prevent pregnancy. One of the first recorded cases was from 1550 BCE when Egyptians used
honey, acacia leaves, and lint to block sperm from entering the uterus. Since then, birth control has
grown in popularity, uses, and types. 92% of sexually active women have used some form of birth
controland 68% of those women are currently still using it. 67% of women use nonpermanent
contraception methods such as IUDs, the pill, the patch, etc., while 25% of women rely on
sterilization and the other 8% rely on male contraception such as condoms. While some see no issue
with birth control and its uses, others have very strong beliefs against it. The most recorded issues
with birth control are religious affiliations, parental influences, and political views. To begin with,
there are certain religious faiths that have strong beliefs against birth control and its use within its
community. Such religions include different forms of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and others. An
issue revolving around birth control from a religious standpoint is physicians allowing their
religious believes to stand in the way of medicine. Curlin et al discusses a study done on whether
doctors with religious backgrounds would practice medicine that went against their beliefs, stating

A Path Out Of Pain Research Paper

Why do we have pain?
A girl stubs her toe Ouch, she exclaims that hurts. This is what everybody calls pain; a physical
thing that is very unpleasant. Everyone, of the billions or even trillions of people on earth go
through it. A person is probably going through it right now and nobody except the people around
that person know about it. Pain is common though no one wants to figure out the simplest
questions. For example why do we have pain and other questions related to it. Though now people
can finally get answers. It is important to understand what causes pain to know the reason behind it,
the different varieties, and what a person experiences.

Though not always are the reactions better for us, there are better responses than ones that can
harm a person s body even more. For example, in the article A Path Out of Pain it tells others
some reactions people go through, some reactions for people is they tense up and that person
then holds that person s breath, freeze and/or ar frantic, or even make noises. It just all depends
on the person. ( n.p.). This can tell people what kind of reactions that a person does and then
learn, as well as try not to do it for it harms the body more than helps it. This is important for it
then shows people that even a person s reaction will not always help the situation at hand. More
evidence says, in A Path Out of Pain this Instead of reacting you could choose to respond. For
example: instead of tensing up you could relax; instead of holding your breath you could breath
gently; instead of changing your position constantly you could let yourself be still; and instead
of making faces, holding, yourself or sighing, you could let the experience in and let pain be. (
n.p.). This demonstrates that people should do the things listed above so that anybody who is
hurt does not harm the body part even more. This is significant because it can help people
respond different than be angry. A person can feel calmer and at least a little relaxed for that
person knows what to do. This tells people that how you react can hurt more, but some of the
responses that were listed could help a person get through the pain that will come in the

Essay On Lipid Based Carry System
As of late, a lot of intrigue has been focussed on lipid based carries systems. The most prevalent
approach is the fuse of the active poorly water dissolvable part into inert lipid vehicles, for example,
oils, surfactant dispersions, solid dispersions, solid lipid nanoparticles, emulsions, micro emulsions,
Nano emulsions, self emulsifying plans (SEF), micro/nanoemulsifying formulations, and liposomes.
The essential component of activity by which a lipid formulation prompts enhanced
bioavailability is typically avoidance of a slow dissolution process which constrains the
bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs from solid dose frames (Shweta Gupta, 2013). Ideally the
plan enables the drug to stay in a dissolved state all through its travel in ... Show more content on

Regardless of the extensive potential that these lipid excipients offer, not very many lipids based
Formulations have achieved the pharmaceutical commercial place. This might be because of the
inadequate data with respect to the generally complex physical science of lipids and worries
about figured drugs substance and physical stability. In addition to these concerns, the interaction
of a lipid based formulation with the GI condition and its effect on drug absorption is also
important. For example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive
enhancers of poorly soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid
paraffin). Unsaturated fat chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and
medium chain triglyceride oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design
of self emulsifying formulations.
2.Surfactants: The self emulsifying properties require the incorporation of moderately a lot of
surfactant in the formulation notwithstanding the oily drug carrier vehicle. The surfactants may
improve the affinity between lipids and intestinal membrane or increase the permeability of the
intestinal membrane (Gershanik T, 2000). Surfactants increment the

Generally, for long term decision making such as determining which product lines to discontinue or
promote and what price to set on these products requires all costs in the value chain to be
considered. When making short term decision in relation to existing products, managers may only
choose to consider manufacturing and downstream costs as upstream costs have already been
incurred. (refer to appendix)
Additionally, product costs may be used in assisting with planning and control. Managers may need
to obtain reliable cost estimates for planning purposes, as budgets are set. If costs vary and are
frequently subject to change then decision making will not be effective. By comparing actual costs
to planned costs, current costs can be controlled.
Managers must assess the product profitability of a product so they are able to make optimal
decisions about product mix and set appropriate prices. The true cost to produce a product can be
exposed and any possible reduction in the cost to produce this good can be identified. Additionally,
non value adding activities may be identified and eliminated. This will prevent underpricing for a
good where the company mistakenly believes profits are possible when true costs and profitability
are hidden under inadequate analysis.
However, when deciding to obtain additional information to facilitate managerial decision making,
as always, costs and benefits of their use must firstly be taken into account. The needs of

United States Political Thought Today Is Considered A...
United States political thought today is considered a democracy. A democracy is where the citizens
of the United States are eligible to vote for the leaders that represent their country. Without the
drafting of the British documents, such as The Magna Carta and the Petition of Rights along with
the political upheaval of the Glorious Revolution and Enlightenment, America today would be
following the traditional acts of arbitrary monarchical rule. All of these specific times in history
were outcomes of people seeing that absolute monarchies were troubling for the fundamental rights
of the people. Being under an absolute monarchy is similar to being under a dictatorship which
leaves no say in the hand of the people.
The Magna Carta, also known as The Great Charter, was the catalyst for creating a representative
democracy. The King of England, King John was forced by his barons to sign the charter to
establish that the monarch was no longer absolute and that the people were guaranteed a trial by
jury and due process of law. King John is considered to be one of the worst kings in history. He
was not in favor of the people, he was in favor of himself. Being an avaricious king, he would
penalize any baron who went against his wishes. In 1206, King John lost some land that he was
insistent on getting back. Normandy, Anjou, Maine and parts of Poitou were no longer under his
control. In attempt to retrieve his land he imposed heavy taxes upon his citizens. If the people

Essay In Defense of Food

In Defense of Pollan When Michael Pollan s book The Omnivore s Dilemma was published,
many readers began questioning him for advice on what they should eat in order to stay healthy. In
his more recent book, In Defense of Food, he responds with three rules, Eat food. Not too much.
Mostly plants (Pollan 1). This seven word response seems too simple for a relatively complicated
question, but as he further elaborates these rules into specific guidelines, this summary turns out to
be surprisingly complete. Using inductive and deductive reasoning, he debunks the ideas behind
nutritionism and food science, and proves that the western diet is the cause for food related
diseases. Inductive reasoning is when a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While nutritionism is suppose to scientifically guide us to eat healthy, Pollan points out that there is
no scientific evidence to back it. Instead, he provides research conducted by Harvard nutrition
scientist that proves the opposite. In the public s mind [...] words like low fat and fat free have
been synonymous with heart health. It is now increasingly recognized that low fat campaign
has been based on little scientific evidence and may have caused unintended health
consequences. (Pollan 43). In Based off these observations, Pollan uses inductive reasoning to
draw the conclusion that nutritionism is more harmful then helpful. When Pollan s states to eat
food as his first rule, he means exactly that, eat real food. While this statement seems so obvious
that it shouldn t need to be a rule, Pollan explains how we are trapped by the Western diet and
that access to real food over highly processed food products is harder then it seems. Taking food
s place on the shelves has been an unending stream of foodlike substitutes, some seventeen
thousands new ones every year (Pollan 147). For those that don t know, the Western diet is a term
coined to describe our pattern of eating, which is characterized by lots of processed foods and
meat, lots of added fat and sugar, lots of everything except fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
(Pollan 89). Using deductive reasoning,

The Successful Formation Of A New Colony
Before organizing a colony, it is important to gain perspective and understand where colonies
before when right and where they also went wrong. Learning from their mistakes and
capitalizing on the positive aspects of different colonies can lead to the successful formation of
a new colony in Illinois. From what we already know, each colony in the New World was for the
most part different. Some were driven by religious ideas others were driven by the prospect of
wealth. While colonies shared some similarities, each had its own set of rules, policies, and way
of life. Colonies such as Pennsylvania and Massachusetts were vastly different even though they
were both northern colonies and religion was a driving force in the development of their colonies.
There were also colonies that were developed in hopes that prosperity was to be had by means of
trade and cultivation. This capitalist model was used by the colonies of Virginia and New
Netherland(New York). However there were colonies that simply did things their own way that
was separate from everyone else. One of those colonies were Carolina, which was setup by eight
proprietors, businessmen, who hoped to rule every aspect of their colony from government to
religion this was now as the feudal model. The other colony was Georgia, who took English
debtors to work off their debts as part of their colony and as a hope to alleviate the overpopulation
in British settlements in the Caribbean, this was the philanthropical model. These

Communication Problems At The Workplace
Introduction

Introduction
Communication problems in the workplace can cost your company productivity and money.
Without efficient communication, your company is unable to exchange information essential to
daily operations and create a communication network..... (Root, n.d.). When you think about
communication in the workplace, as an employee you may not think about what poor
communication can cost the organization you work for. But it not only affects the productivity of
the organization it can be the downfall of the organization. Without effective communication it is
impossible for the organization to run smoothly and in turn be productive with their customers. So
in the end ineffective communication can cause the company to completely fail in providing the
environment necessary for the clientele. In this paper I will analyze the communication issues
and more specifically the top four issues that were prevalent in every organization I worked in as
a nurse. I will also go into detail about those four issues and then at the end I will talk about what I
would do as a leader to correct them.
Analysis of the Communication Issues
When thinking back on the organizations I have worked for, I would have to say that there is one
thing that stood out the most to me and that was issues with communication.

Social Structure And Hierarchy At The Gym
For the deviance assignment I decided to break the social norms that are prevalent in the gym
while working out. Cal Poly has a very active campus that uses the gym very regularly. The gym
has its own set of rules and norms that are followed by everyone. I personally do not spend a lot
of time in the gym so to prepare I watched 30 minutes of YouTube videos and read multiple lists
of unwritten gym rules and things not to do at the gym. The social structure and hierarchy at the
gym is different than real life. The gym social structure is based on how much muscle the person
has and for how long the person has been lifting. Therefore, I was at the bottom due to the fact
that I am rail thin and do not work out regularly. As someone at the bottom of the social order I
was for the most part ignored, similar to how one ignores the poor and homeless. The only way
to get a reaction out of people was to act out and disturb the social order. No one offered to help
me and spend time with me to improve out of the goodness of his or her heart, most people stick
to themselves. The only way to be noticed is to act out, similar to how poor people and homeless
act out to get attention because they do not know any other way. The only person to talk to me
and tell me that I was messing around was a male in his 30 s who was very muscular and was a
workout regular. He, in the social structure, is much higher and the advice is similar to a teacher

action, moves quickly to the climax and totally omits the resolution. Carver uses third person
objective narration to reveal the actions and the dialogue between a man and a woman. The narrator
gives very little descriptive details, never revealing the characters? thoughts or their motivation.
This allows the reader the freedom to interpret and develop their own opinions of the setting, plot,
and characters of the story. This also stimulates the reader to... Show more content on

Carver begins with the story?s conflict, a relationship between a man and woman that has
already gone extremely wrong. He does not need to tell the reader why or how this relationship
came to this point. Carver relies on the reader to know the usual reasons that cause people to
split up. Therefore, this gives readers the opportunity to attach their own explanation. As the
title, ?Popular Mechanics? implies, it is the common workings of relationships that can be
applied throughout this story. Finally, it appears that Carver does not give an adequate
description of his characters. The male and the female characters in this story are flat, stock
characters. Because Carver relies on commonly held gender based stereotypes this helps the
reader to create his or her own image of the characters. The need for physical or psychological
description is not necessary. For example, the woman?s opening statement, ?I?m glad you?re
leaving! I?m glad you?re leaving! Do you hear?? (265), illustrates that she is a stereotypical,
emotional female, who is out of control. Furthermore, the man?s refusal to acknowledge her
illustrates a stereotypical male response to conflict. It shows that he considers her unworthy of a
response. As if the same fight has occurred many times before and he knows there is no sense in
replaying this scene again. The story escalates to a

Vacation Bible School
I grew up in the St. Louis suburb of Eureka, where I still live today. If you ever look at me and
wonder where that scar on my forehead came from, well it happened when I was roughly 12
months old when I fell out of a moving car. My parents raised me as a Methodist at the Eureka
United Methodist Church. During my years attending Geggie Elementary School, every Sunday
my parents would force me to get out of bed and go to Church with them. During church, all the
children would go to Sunday school while the parents were listening to the sermon. In Sunday
school, we had a teacher, sometimes my mom, who would give out fun church related activities.
However, I did not enjoy doing that mostly because it involved getting out of bed early and since I
did not like the subject matter either, but at that age, children do not fully grasp the importance of
attending church and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here I interacted with similarly aged Christians and did learning activities together with
instructors. As I got older, when I attended LaSalle Springs Middle School, I began to participate
in Vacation Bible School as a teacher and would give out activities for the younger children to
do. Shortly after, I went through conformation to officially become a member of the Church.
During this time, I was also baptized because I wasn t at birth. After middle school, I attended
Eureka High School. In my early high school years my family, including myself, became
disconnected from the church because we got busier with academics and sports, which left less
time for Church. However, I did go on mission trips with the church, one to Virginia Beach in
Virginia and the other to Joplin in Missouri. In Virginia Beach, we helped fix up a nursing home
and interacted with less fortunate children. In Joplin, we helped to rebuild homes due to the

Remote Sensing of Aerosols, Clouds, and Precipitation
EDITORS
Tanvir Islam, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, USA
Yongxiang Hu, NASA Langley Research Center, USA
Alexander Kokhanovsky, EUMETSAT, Germany
Jun Wang, University of Nebraska, USA
BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND READERSHIP
The atmospheric parameters, including, aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, play very important role
in our Earth s climate system. The climate feedbacks influencing the global climate variability are
directly or indirectly affected by aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, and thus, modulate the Earth s
radiation and surface energy balance. Therefore, global observations of aerosols, clouds, and
precipitation are crucial not only to better understand the processes involved in the climate system
but also to predict the future climate change.
Satellite remote sensing as a tool can be very valuable to acquire such global observations of
aerosols, clouds, and precipitation for monitoring Earth s climate system. In particular, some of the
regions in the Earth are not easily accessible to obtain in situ data while on those regions; space
borne instruments can act as complimentary data sources. Besides, large scale data mapping and
monitoring are only feasible with space based observations.
A good progress has been made in the recent years in dealing with remote sensing of the aerosols,
clouds, and precipitation using satellite measurements for global observations. Notably, the remote
sensing

developments and their impact on the study of aggression in the mouse brain. In addition, we
discuss their potential applications to the human brain.
Introduction Violence is one of humanity s oldest problems, but the neural pathways that underlie
violence are not well understood. Aggression stems from evolutionary roots, ranging from
simplistic behaviors such as defending offspring to potentially more complicated human mental
disorders. The study of aggression should improve not only our understanding of the properly
functioning mind, but also characterize poorly understood mental disorders.1
Laboratory experiments have been run on mice to identify cells that mediate aggression, but these
areas were difficult to find due to their small size.1 After discovering these areas, researchers are
beginning to study the underlying genetic pathway of aggression. Increasingly genetic approaches

  • 5. Stigmatization Of Madness In Don Quixote Our delight in or respect for his madness and its wonderful connections to the imagination does not take away from our genuine pain at his humiliation. Though Don Quixote is humiliated on every page of the book, it is only in this п¬Ѓnal humiliation when he becomes a rational observer of his past insane life and views it with profound regret that we actually enter into real sympathetic pain with him. Until this point, he is an object of our mirth. Once he becomes aware that his perception of reality was in error and that his actions were, therefore, not a product of his autonomous self, we feel genuine compassion for him. His realization that his hyper vigilance about his dignity as a knight errant was delusional is a serious indignity for him. He has been in error about reality, and everyone has known it except for him. People have gone along with him in a patronizing way. In Cervantes s Don Quixote, we can see remarkably clear pictures of both the kind of unfair stigmatization of madness that McKay and Mitchell decry and the essentially demeaning nature of insanity to which Gardner and Macklem draw our attention. Don Quixote is treated with astounding cruelty. He is made an object of ridicule and trickery by almost everyone he meets. As Nietzsche says: Today we read Don Quixote with a bitter taste in our mouths, almost with a feeling of torment, and would thus seem very strange and incomprehensible to its author and his contemporaries: they read it with the clearest ... I have never before explored music in the extent that I have done this semester. I always thought of myself as cultured but this semester, I ve begun to realize there are more areas of music that I have not explored than those which I have. And as I explore culture and cross cultural linkages in our music, I realize how much one generation s music speaks to the next. I received my first record player when I was in 1st or 2nd grade. I remember it was red and blue. It was a Disney record player that played all my favorite Disney records. But it wasn t until I was about 11 or 12 that I really got a test of music. My grandpa had given me his old yellowed record player/radio. I was ecstatic. It was the first time that I had the power to listen to whatever I wanted to. It didn t matter what my parents thought about it. It didn t even matter that they didn t regularly listen to music. So I would turn that radio on and listen to good ol country music just like my grandparents. I thought it was wonderful. I never even tried any other station until one day when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. My friends came over and laughed when they heard the music I was listening to. So we changed it to some pop radio station. I remember listening to it and telling them that I could not understand it. The words were spoken way too fast. • 12. The Development Of Absolutism During The Nineteenth... In the course of the seventeenth century, there were many political and religious conflicts within Europe. These struggles affected countless nations across the continent, but almost none were as troubled as France due to the years of religious wars fought out within their territories, which caused widespread chaos in their lands. Both, the upper and lower class citizens were exhausted by these conflicts and were supportive of a new style of government. In attempt to maintain the integrity and stability of their country, French kings started to gradually adopt the political ideal of absolutism to maintain total control over their nation. The final goal of this ideal was to achieve the good of the state and a higher level of national existence. The development of absolutism in France can be thoroughly analyzed both in theory and in practice by looking at three kings and their cardinal advisors who consecutively ruled France leading up too, and in the seventeenth century. This development of absolutism can be firstly seen through Henry the fourth, followed by Louis the thirteenth and most prominently in Louis the fourteenth. In the last quarter of the sixteenth century, France was in the middle of its wars of religion, otherwise known as the Huguenot Wars. These wars were fought between the reformed Protestants and Catholics which lead to the death of approximately three million people. Ester Lucero Essay Cassie Essary Tim Petete Ethnic American Literature November 12, 2009 Angel s Psyche in Ester Lucero One of the most fascinating aspects of any story is the formation of it scharacters. The way the author chooses to describe them, give them personalities, is how the reader will see their lives. A character s psyche and the way he thinks about events around him change the way a reader perceives the story. Authors have an amazing chance to shape and bend a storyto fit what they want it to be through the characterization of the people they write about. She was a child, and he would not allow himself to touch her for that reason, and because his obsession with her is what keeps him going. Ester became the focus of all his attention so he didn t have to deal with anything else in his life. Another issue with Angel is the fact that he has a bullet in his groin. The women of the town question his masculinity and begin to wonder if maybe the malaria or that bullet he has there in his crotch rid him forever of a taste for women (Pearson 10). They don t realize that he has become completely engrossed with Ester and therefore uninterested in the other women of the town. Since Angel does have a bullet in his groin, and purposefully chose an unavailable girl to fixate on, it makes the reader wonder if the bullet did cause some sort of dysfunction. Perhaps the reason that Angel deliberately chose a girl that he could never have was because he knew women wouldn t want him if they knew that he was impotent. Hughes style shows that the speaker is in awe of the landscape, and his task as an artist becomes to somehow capture the entirety of the scene before him. To begin, the speaker uses an extended metaphor to set the scene of the poem. He describes the water lilies as a barrier between two layers of nature. The layer of lilies roofs the pond s chambers, while it also paves the flies arena. By dividing the scene into two layers, the speaker shows how complex the scene before him is. Comparing The Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism Capitalism is an economic system in a society in which private owners control industry and trade within a country, rather than the state. Both Karl Marx and Max Weber, have written theories on how this system develops in countries and creates a nation state that is characterised by production and wealth. Marx s theory takes more of a top down approach, suggesting that people have little power in how their society is run. Although both these theories look at how capitalism develops within a society, Marx s macro scale theory is more applicable to every society, unlike Weber s micro scale approach that focuses on one group within society and their spirit of capitalism . Naturally, the theories vary due to the time of writing and the economic or political situation. Finishing Hardwood Floors Hardwood floor can be finished using high power sanding machines, although some handwork may be necessary in places that on which a sanding machine will not fit, or near corners. Before starting the finishing process, the hardwood surface should be free of dirt and all nails must be carefully driven so they are not protruding in the floor or the baseboard. Depending on the hardwood flooringsurface, sometimes with two sanding cuts, you will get a nice finish whatsoever, if the floor is uneven, then three sanding cuts will be needed. Hardwood Flooring Sanding Machines There are two main types of sanding machines: drum or disk type. Drum sanders have the sandpaper mounted on a drum that rotates parallel to the plane of the floor, scratching in straight lines in the direction of the sanding machine. Summary Of 13 Most Wanted Men By Alhol Warhol Instead of taking the rejection with a grain of salt and moving on, Warhol interpreted it as a challenge to convince others to view him as a serious artist. Instead of moving away from his homosexual subject matter altogether, Warhol found other less direct ways of including it in his work. 13 Most Wanted Men was commissioned to be displayed at the 1964 1965 New York World s fair, but it was painted over within days of its debut in what some have described as quite literally white washing the work. Warhol printed large images of criminals side by side who were suspected of being part of the Mafia; the images he gathered were from a booklet that was released by the NYPD s Commissioner a few months prior to the fair s opening day. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though not always are the reactions better for us, there are better responses than ones that can harm a person s body even more. For example, in the article A Path Out of Pain it tells others some reactions people go through, some reactions for people is they tense up and that person then holds that person s breath, freeze and/or ar frantic, or even make noises. It just all depends on the person. ( n.p.). This can tell people what kind of reactions that a person does and then learn, as well as try not to do it for it harms the body more than helps it. This is important for it then shows people that even a person s reaction will not always help the situation at hand. More evidence says, in A Path Out of Pain this Instead of reacting you could choose to respond. For example: instead of tensing up you could relax; instead of holding your breath you could breath gently; instead of changing your position constantly you could let yourself be still; and instead of making faces, holding, yourself or sighing, you could let the experience in and let pain be. ( n.p.). This demonstrates that people should do the things listed above so that anybody who is hurt does not harm the body part even more. This is significant because it can help people respond different than be angry. A person can feel calmer and at least a little relaxed for that person knows what to do. This tells people that how you react can hurt more, but some of the responses that were listed could help a person get through the pain that will come in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Essay On Lipid Based Carry System As of late, a lot of intrigue has been focussed on lipid based carries systems. The most prevalent approach is the fuse of the active poorly water dissolvable part into inert lipid vehicles, for example, oils, surfactant dispersions, solid dispersions, solid lipid nanoparticles, emulsions, micro emulsions, Nano emulsions, self emulsifying plans (SEF), micro/nanoemulsifying formulations, and liposomes. The essential component of activity by which a lipid formulation prompts enhanced bioavailability is typically avoidance of a slow dissolution process which constrains the bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs from solid dose frames (Shweta Gupta, 2013). Ideally the plan enables the drug to stay in a dissolved state all through its travel in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Regardless of the extensive potential that these lipid excipients offer, not very many lipids based Formulations have achieved the pharmaceutical commercial place. This might be because of the inadequate data with respect to the generally complex physical science of lipids and worries about figured drugs substance and physical stability. In addition to these concerns, the interaction of a lipid based formulation with the GI condition and its effect on drug absorption is also important. For example, edible lipids have been appeared to be extensively more productive enhancers of poorly soluble drug ingestion, as compared to nondigestible lipids (e.g., liquid paraffin). Unsaturated fat chain length of the lipid likewise impacts drug absorption. Both long and medium chain triglyceride oils with various degrees of saturation have been utilized for the design of self emulsifying formulations. 2.Surfactants: The self emulsifying properties require the incorporation of moderately a lot of surfactant in the formulation notwithstanding the oily drug carrier vehicle. The surfactants may improve the affinity between lipids and intestinal membrane or increase the permeability of the intestinal membrane (Gershanik T, 2000). Surfactants increment the ... Generally, for long term decision making such as determining which product lines to discontinue or promote and what price to set on these products requires all costs in the value chain to be considered. When making short term decision in relation to existing products, managers may only choose to consider manufacturing and downstream costs as upstream costs have already been incurred. (refer to appendix) Additionally, product costs may be used in assisting with planning and control. Managers may need to obtain reliable cost estimates for planning purposes, as budgets are set. If costs vary and are frequently subject to change then decision making will not be effective. By comparing actual costs to planned costs, current costs can be controlled. Managers must assess the product profitability of a product so they are able to make optimal decisions about product mix and set appropriate prices. The true cost to produce a product can be exposed and any possible reduction in the cost to produce this good can be identified. Additionally, non value adding activities may be identified and eliminated. This will prevent underpricing for a good where the company mistakenly believes profits are possible when true costs and profitability are hidden under inadequate analysis.

A democracy is where the citizens of the United States are eligible to vote for the leaders that represent their country. Without the drafting of the British documents, such as The Magna Carta and the Petition of Rights along with the political upheaval of the Glorious Revolution and Enlightenment, America today would be following the traditional acts of arbitrary monarchical rule. All of these specific times in history were outcomes of people seeing that absolute monarchies were troubling for the fundamental rights of the people. Being under an absolute monarchy is similar to being under a dictatorship which leaves no say in the hand of the people. The Magna Carta, also known as The Great Charter, was the catalyst for creating a representative democracy. The King of England, King John was forced by his barons to sign the charter to establish that the monarch was no longer absolute and that the people were guaranteed a trial by jury and due process of law. King John is considered to be one of the worst kings in history. He was not in favor of the people, he was in favor of himself. Being an avaricious king, he would penalize any baron who went against his wishes. In 1206, King John lost some land that he was insistent on getting back. In his more recent book, In Defense of Food, he responds with three rules, Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants (Pollan 1). This seven word response seems too simple for a relatively complicated question, but as he further elaborates these rules into specific guidelines, this summary turns out to be surprisingly complete. Using inductive and deductive reasoning, he debunks the ideas behind nutritionism and food science, and proves that the western diet is the cause for food related diseases. While nutritionism is suppose to scientifically guide us to eat healthy, Pollan points out that there is no scientific evidence to back it. Instead, he provides research conducted by Harvard nutrition scientist that proves the opposite. In the public s mind [...] words like low fat and fat free have been synonymous with heart health. It is now increasingly recognized that low fat campaign has been based on little scientific evidence and may have caused unintended health consequences. (Pollan 43). In Based off these observations, Pollan uses inductive reasoning to draw the conclusion that nutritionism is more harmful then helpful. When Pollan s states to eat food as his first rule, he means exactly that, eat real food. While this statement seems so obvious that it shouldn t need to be a rule, Pollan explains how we are trapped by the Western diet and that access to real food over highly processed food products is harder then it seems. Taking food s place on the shelves has been an unending stream of foodlike substitutes, some seventeen thousands new ones every year (Pollan 147). For those that don t know, the Western diet is a term coined to describe our pattern of eating, which is characterized by lots of processed foods and meat, lots of added fat and sugar, lots of everything except fruits, vegetables, and whole grains (Pollan 89). From what we already know, each colony in the New World was for the most part different. Some were driven by religious ideas others were driven by the prospect of wealth. While colonies shared some similarities, each had its own set of rules, policies, and way of life. Colonies such as Pennsylvania and Massachusetts were vastly different even though they were both northern colonies and religion was a driving force in the development of their colonies. There were also colonies that were developed in hopes that prosperity was to be had by means of trade and cultivation. This capitalist model was used by the colonies of Virginia and New Netherland(New York). However there were colonies that simply did things their own way that was separate from everyone else. One of those colonies were Carolina, which was setup by eight proprietors, businessmen, who hoped to rule every aspect of their colony from government to religion this was now as the feudal model. Therefore, this gives readers the opportunity to attach their own explanation. As the title, ?Popular Mechanics? implies, it is the common workings of relationships that can be applied throughout this story. Finally, it appears that Carver does not give an adequate description of his characters. The male and the female characters in this story are flat, stock characters. The need for physical or psychological description is not necessary. For example, the woman?s opening statement, ?I?m glad you?re leaving! I?m glad you?re leaving! Do you hear?? Remote Sensing Of Aerosols, Clouds And Precipitation Book Title Remote Sensing of Aerosols, Clouds, and Precipitation EDITORS Tanvir Islam, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, USA Yongxiang Hu, NASA Langley Research Center, USA Alexander Kokhanovsky, EUMETSAT, Germany Jun Wang, University of Nebraska, USA BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND READERSHIP The atmospheric parameters, including, aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, play very important role in our Earth s climate system. The climate feedbacks influencing the global climate variability are directly or indirectly affected by aerosols, clouds, and precipitation, and thus, modulate the Earth s radiation and surface energy balance. Therefore, global observations of aerosols, clouds, and precipitation are crucial not only to better understand the processes involved in the climate system but also to predict the future climate change. Satellite remote sensing as a tool can be very valuable to acquire such global observations of aerosols, clouds, and precipitation for monitoring Earth s climate system. In particular, some of the regions in the Earth are not easily accessible to obtain in situ data while on those regions; space borne instruments can act as complimentary data sources. Besides, large scale data mapping and monitoring are only feasible with space based observations. A good progress has been made in the recent years in dealing with remote sensing of the aerosols, clouds, and precipitation using satellite measurements for global observations.
