5. ACHIEVEMENT PROFILE
Developed Unique and Innovative Corporate Banking Products, Was a Key Member of the Strategic
Planning Process of the Bank
Organised and set up the SME & Retail Division at The Premier Bank Limited, Head Office including
developing the credit and operations manual, products and all the forms required by the Division. Set up
10 new SME Branches in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The branches were set up to cater to SME and Retail
clients with the capability to provide the entire range of the Bank’s products. The total staff strength of the
Division was 80 including Head Office and Branches.
Concurrently was responsible for 15 large Corporate clients as part of the Senior Management team
responsibility. This included regular calls on those clients and catering to their Banking needs including
meeting their credit facility requirement
Successfully pioneered the set up the SME Division at the BRAC Bank Head Office with centralised
operations. Between January and September 2002, set up 60 marketing offices all over Bangladesh and
recruited over 115 employees. Developed the training & credit manual which was used to provide 18
days training to the newly recruited officers. This module is now being replicated by other local banks in
Bangladesh due to its success
Instrumental in setting up BRAC Bank. Through market surveys, during the period 1999 – 2001, was
responsible to identify locations for setting up 8 BRAC Bank branches. Successfully developed the initial
retail banking products including deposit and consumer lending schemes, Guidelines for Operating
Departments, Credit Manual, Security Documents and the Chart of Accounts for the Bank during this
period. Was also involved in the development of the banking software used by the Bank and the
remittance based products (including the software development) and setting up the modus operandi of
mobilising remittances from overseas along with the delivery mechanism, using the latest communication
tools
Instrumental in setting up the Corporate Banking Department in SG Bangladesh in 1996/7. Was
responsible for the preparation of all the security documents of the Bank. Assisted SG in the
establishment of the Bank in Bangladesh in 1996
As a Consultant, successfully carried out feasibility studies of 15 industrial projects (spinning, weaving,
leather shoe, restaurant, etc) in Bangladesh during 1994-6

point in time
