transcend conventional norms. Analyzing his innovative use of free verse, examining the
underlying themes of individualism, democracy, and nature, and dissecting the cultural and
historical context in which he wrote are essential components of such an essay.
Moreover, crafting an insightful analysis demands a nuanced approach to Whitman's
philosophical musings and a critical evaluation of his impact on American literature. The
complexity lies not only in comprehending the layers of meaning in Whitman's verses but also in
presenting a cohesive argument that captures the essence of his contribution to literary and
cultural discourse.
Researching primary and secondary sources, including critical essays and scholarly

California Wildfire
Although naturally encompasses such as season, weather, lightning, and etcetera

humans cause 90 percent of Wildland fires in the United States as a result from
campfires left unattended, the burning of debris, negligently discarded cigarettes
and intentional acts of arson (NPS). In this study, we will analyze the pattern,
causes and find possible solutions for wildfire activities in the California. Foremost,
it will begin with topic research of reliable sources such as the library, government

As well as the climate is one of the reasons too; it dries up the plants. Likely, the
intense heat from the sun or a lightning strike combusts fire with sawdust, dried
leaves, and trees branches. What s more, it isn t the only findings support the analysis,
the U.S. Wildfire Activity Public Information Map shows the fires are around the
forests, mountains, creeks, side of highways, they located in the dry summer and
highland zones. At this point, we could somewhat determine that climate and
geographical location have a strong connection with all the wildfire
The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities And

Try to remember your first day at school. Generally, teachers cannot even remember
the name of any one of their students. Now, how exactly are they supposed to
remember all of their 120 students personal lives? Contrary to that belief, most
students believe that teachers should account for their extracurricular activities and
personal lives. But, not only is that not possible, it is not plausible. Obviously, for
students, keeping up with their work and personal lives is a hard task to manage, but
developing their time management skills is something each student will need to learn
to do as they continue their studies in college. Teachers should not have to plan their
curriculum around student responsibilities due to the numerous types of jobs and
extracurricular activities students take part in. According to Dunbar s Number, we as
people can only remember at most 150 names, of course, that number is the
maximum. On average, according to 21 percent of the faculty members of West
Warwick Public Schools, the average numbers of students per class would be 120 to
125 students per year. Therefore, it makes sense teachers would struggle at
remembering even 125 names, let alone their complex personal lives. Teachers, along
with their students names, would have to remember their students personal lives and
then go on to create a curriculum based around those numerous activities. Obviously,
most teachers would find that unreasonable. Therefore, it is more than clear teachers
Understanding How Potential Buyers Of New Houses Essay
Hofman, et al. (2006) have stated the importance of understanding how potential
buyers of new houses prioritize different elements of a house to measure the trade off
between different housing attributes. Eventually, these factors have to be able to
satisfy or dissatisfy the expectations of the potential buyers in their properties. This
research bases it s finding on a vignette based survey to measure customization
requirements the customers residing in Netherlands have and the trade off presented
is between standardization and customization for the maximum price payable.
Initially, the authors base this study of an empirical survey results and interviews
with experts dealing in mass customization; focusing on customer priorities. From
the survey, it was established that 35 major attributes are offered as variation for
customization. Literature review and interview questionnaires helped establish 5
major dimensions in which these could be classified (1) Technical Systems (2)
Interior Finish (3) Floor Plan (4) House Volume and Exterior; and (5) Environment.
These were prioritized considering how they affect the decision making process of
perspective buyers. Next the relative importance of the 35 attributes were determined
followed by a trade off for the potential price the buyers might pay was established
using regression analysis. This research was impactful and showed the trends in
pricing with respect to a lot of physical and environmental factors; though curb appeal

The Ethics of Online Medical Records
Abstract: This paper describes the ethical implications of developing a national online
medical database. Such a database would contain the lifetime health records of every
U.S. resident by combining information from a variety of sources. The advantages of
such a system are many, but in the end, the question remains whether patients want to
trade privacy for better healthcare.
A lonely ninety year old Chinese woman walks into a clinic. Without any medical
records, the physicians diagnose her with stroke, and she is immediately hospitalized.
Two days later, her son arrives at the hospital, apparently quite angry with the doctors.
He informs the physicians that her mother has ... Show more content on

Today, the medical records of most Americans are scattered across multiple clinics
and hospitals, possibly across several states. The task of piecing together a patient
s medical history can become quite time consuming and laborious, as the files first
need to be located and then faxed [5]. The possibility of combining medical records
into a central medical database would solve many of these problems, as well as
bring new benefits. With a shared medical database, doctors would have vital
information about a patient at their fingertips. Very little time would be lost in
looking for a patient s medical records and piecing the data together.
A shared medical database would save lives by providing accurate and complete
information to doctors, especially those not familiar with their patients. For instance,
if a person had a serious accident while vacationing in a different state, the doctors
there would have instant access to his medical records in his home state. Locating the
patient s family doctor and faxing the patient s medical history would be unnecessary.
If the patient has allergies to certain drugs, the doctors would be aware of it, thus
avoiding further complications [6]. With more complete information, doctors would
be given the power to treat an unfamiliar, out of state patients in a timely and effective
manner.
Sharing medical data would also enormously benefit organizations

of course the 289 CID V8, we would later see in the 64 1/2 Mustang.
Third generation V8 Four speed Ranchero
When speaking about the third generation falcon based ranchero, you couldn t get
a factory installed V8 until 1963. This would be the only model year with an
engine displacement of 260 CID as they increased engine displacement to 289 CID
for the 1964 model year. As for the build out, in 1963 Ford produced almost 19,000
Ranchero s. However, only 1,600 of these automobiles had V8 engines.
Drilling down a little further, less than 200 would sport the combination of the V 8
engine with a four speed manual transmission. Although classic car fans don t
often look upon the Ford Falcon as a highly collectible or desirable automobile, the

Essay on Breakfast Club
I have seen the breakfast club three times before taking this class and then saw it
for a fourth time during class and I must say that it is defiantly one of my favourite
movies. Before this class, I loved it because it was a fun movie depicting teenage
school life in its simplest form and it was more or less something I could relate to.
I noticed only the funny quotes; close calls and random scenes that made me say
Ha! It s funny because it s true. Such as the scene where all the characters are in
detention and they are all just making the dumbest faces, sounds and actions with
their pencils. But after taking this class and doing a bit of theory on groups and
communication, I realized that the film had a bit more depth to it. It was a... Show

The jock (Andrew Clark) usually picks on nerds such as Brian and would become
an outcast in his group of athletes if he were ever caught dead socializing with him.
The princess (Claire Standish) is part of a high social class and would never be
caught dead with anyone outside her wealthy click (except perhaps Andrew since
he is a jock and we all know the princess is usually dating the jock). The
troublemaker (John Bender) preys on all the members of the group, exploiting
their weaknesses for his personal enjoyment (Ironically, without this, the group
would have probably never even spoken a word to one another and his intense
negativity towards the group is what brought them all together). And finally the
basket case Allison Reynolds is somewhat indifferent about the group at first and
pays no attention to them and then watches them from behind, as the group grows
closer. She likely has no group of her own and likes the fact that she doesn t need
to depend on anyone but she clearly craves attention and this is shown by her lies
made up to impress or shock the group members. As for control, there seems to be a
power struggle between John and Andrew. John is the tough guy and tries to push
all the members or the group down to make himself feel like he is better than them
all, but Andrew, being the jock that he is, is not going to let another male get the
best of him. Claire refuses to be controlled or ordered by such low class scum like

The Contribution Of Ludwig Van Beethoven
Abstract Ludwig Van Beethoven was one of the greatest musical composers of his
time. Starting very young in his studies of music, he held many important positions
they would develop him into the composer he became. Born in Bonn, Germany to a
singer, he held his first position at the church. He later moved to Vienna where his
composed several pieces, and even an opera. He created a new style of music, cyclic
form.
Background Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 28 March 1827) was one of the greatest
art musicians, and probably had more influence over musical events than any
composer, of his time (Charlton, 2016). He was born in Bonn, Germany to Father
Johann van Beethoven, and named after his grandfather, Ludwig van Beethoven.
There is no official record of his birthday, but the church had on file his baptism on
17 December 1770. Because one of his teacher celebrated his birthday on 16
December, his birthday is generally accepted to be on this date. He had seven
brothers and sister, being one of three to survive early childhood. Beethoven s
Grandfather, Ludwig van Beethoven (1712 1773), moved to Bonn when he was in
his twenties. He was employed as a bass singer to the Elector of Cologne. In 1761,
he became the music director. Ludwig was father to Johann (1740 1792), his only
son. Johann Beethoven was a tenor singer in the same place has his father. Johann
gave piano and violin lessons in his spare time to assist his income. Johann fell in love

U.s. Passport And Visa Database
Introduction
In July 24, 2014, one crazy thing happened, especially affected all U.S. travelling
people. The U.S. passport and visa database crashed! The database is used to
record, approve and print visas and other related documents for global people who
plan to go U.S. for travelling. All international students in U.S. should apply and
receive the visa before they come to U.S. More than 50,000 applicants had to delay
their travelling (Press, 2014).

Hardware
To improve and better system performance, high quality hardware is extremely
important. In a database system, hardware includes many parts, such as CPU
processing power, available primary memory (RAM), hard disk, and network
about high speed connection (Coronel and Morris, 2015). For CPU basic
requirement, normally it should have dual core CPU or higher to increase the
database performance as fast as possible. The larger RAM is, the computer will run
faster. Hard disk is essential to the fast speed for a database environment. Finally,
without a high speed network connection, high database performance cannot be
guaranteed. Today, switches are much faster than hubs. Using switches instead of
hubs can improve the network effectivity and efficiency. A reliable and high speed
network can improve the database performance and reduce response time. However,
in a real world, unlimited hardware support is impossible. Company normally
purchase the maximized possible based on the budget cost.
Software
The other important element is software for a database performance. Software
includes operating system, network for best throughput and application software
(Coronel and Morris, 2015). . Today, 64 bit OS is a better choice for operation
system selection. It normally can perform a better system performance than 32 bit
OS system; also it has a better server application performance than others. For
Jing Mei Two Kinds
In Two Kinds, written by Amy Tan, Jing Mei defies her mother s authority to
become her own person. Jing Mei is the only daughter of two Chinese immigrants
in America. Her mother places an exponential amount of pressure on Jing Mei, to
meet her standards of success. As Jing Mei grows older she goes against her mother s
wishes and refuses to be placed in her mother s mold of a perfect child. Jing Mei, a
young girlbeing played like a marionette, becomes a young woman defying authority
on a never ending road of self discovering.
At the beginning of the story, Jing Mei is a little girl buying into her mothers
views of the american dream. Jing Mei expressed her excitement by stating In fact,
in the beginning I was just as excited as my mother, maybe even more so. She goes
through a series of ambitions in a short period of time. First her mother told her that
she could become an actress and be like an asian Shirley Temple. A butchered perm
and a horrifying haircut later, and her mom proclaimed that she could become the
next Peter Pan. Jing Mei expresses that she loved the idea of becoming a star. Though
these view were merely being projected upon her by her mother. She was tested on
multiple tasks. Some of these tests included multiplication, predicting temperatures,
and memorizing pages out of the Bible and reciting them back to her mother.

on a deconstructive path of not giving full effort. Jing Mei thought that her mother

The John Brown And The Pottawatomie Massacre
On May 24, 1856, John Brown and his small army of men raided Lawrence, Kansas,
killing five unsuspecting civilians. The attack ended in the capture and hanging of
Brown, as the action was seen as treasonous. Since this event, debate has incessantly
surrounded the figure due to the violence and morality of the situation. Despite the
lives lost, John Brownwas a hero because of the reasoning of the raid and the lack of
alternative options.
The event, known as the Pottawatomie Massacre, is one of honorableness since it
was enacted to promote the liberty of the real victims of the time, the slaves. To only
acknowledge the five civilians as the targets would be to ignore the history of deaths
in the slave community and the then current 3.2 million
Longoria Character Analysis
I think Longoria s character shows a lot of discipline for doing what is enforced to
do. We see how violence has affected his life and other people s perspective of him.
He started out in the Army at a very young age and carried out the harsh tasks that
he was given, no matter how cruel they were. Longoria is a strong minded person.
For him to carry out some of the assignments he was given, it takes a different kind
of person. For example, the incident with the people in the village. He murdered a
whole village of innocent people. To me, this shows that Longoria is ruthless. In a
sense, I would almost say that he has lost his mind. After years of killing like he
did, how does he not have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Most people that must go
through and witness the things like Longoria are scarred for the rest of their life. For
example, my grandfather was in the military during Vietnam. He would wake up
screaming in the middle of the night, fireworks and loud noises bothered him, among
other little things that would trigger his PTSD. Violenceeventually takes its toll and I
think it got the best of Longoria. The first altercation between Antonio and Longoria
happens about half way through the book. Antonio travels to the park where
Longoria usually plays chess and sets out to killhim. He arrives and asks for
Longoria but he hasn t arrived yet. After waiting, Longoria finally arrives. Antonio,
so full of hate and vengeance, attacks Longoria with a pipe. Longoria was
Examples Of False Modesty
Introduction:
The topic selected by me is False Modesty . I was interested in this topic because of
the quote by Alan Bennett All modesty is false modesty; otherwise it wouldn t be
modesty. In order for a person to be modest, they must not claim that they had a big
role to play in their success. In fact, they must acknowledge others contribution more
than their own. When someone tries to give other people credits for their
achievement, they do this with the idea of showing people that they are modest,
which is false modesty.
False Modesty:
Instead of praising, some people tend to disparage themselves. This is known as
false modesty. There are many reasons as to why people do that. One is that they
want to hear back comments from friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DuS talk about the use of the words we and I in order to show modesty and
immodesty. According to them active speech is always more direct and forceful. So
the use of language can help us learn more about false modesty. (DuS, 1959). In
another research paper George Parsons Lathrop talks about modesty among the
readers. He feels that the readers are at first free from immodesty. But after reading
the novels, the idea of modesty and immodesty gets into them. They ability of the
readers to judge if the actions of the character is modest comes only after they have
read the novels. But then he also puts forth a question that if the readers are able to
judge modesty and immodesty, this trait must be in them even before they read the
book. Thus, it would not be right to say that it was the novel which affected their
ability to judge modesty, false modesty or immodesty. (Lathrop,

Stories involving transgender people have been in newspapers, magazines, and

The Glass Cage By Nicholas Carr Summary
According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, nearly two thirds of the
United States adults own a smartphone, which is up from 35% in 2011 (Anderson
and Posts). As the acceptance of smartphones expand, many question whether it will
have an adverse impact on our lives. Author Nicholas Carr indirectly criticizes the use
of a smartphone; however, smartphones, such as Apple s iPhone can have both
positive and negative impacts on a population. In The Glass Cage author Nicolas Carr
demonstrates that when digital devices automate or oust human burdens, there is a
root for anguish; automation generally brings a hasty corollary for people. Carr
claims that smartphones are deskilling us, because doing activities done on a
smartphone manually helps people with automaticity. The most notable evidence
Carr uses to support his thesis is when he claims that people will have a smartphone
automation bias Automation bias is closely related to automation complacency. It
creeps in when people give undue weight to the information coming through their
monitors. Even when the information is wrong or misleading, they believe it. Their
trust becomes so strong that they ignore or discount other sources of information,
including their own senses (Carr). The author also claims, that physically writing

Traffic In Toronto Essay
Have you ever had any trouble with traffic? Most people would say Yes . Many
people, who live in Toronto, may have dissatisfaction with traffic. According to The
Smart Growth Panel of Ontario , every motorist in the city spends their commuting
time on the road by up to 30 percent during peak traffic hours ( Toronto , 2015).
Travel should be convenient and people could drive swift and accuracy. However, the
city of Toronto has too much construction, and there are so many illegally parked
cars everywhere. To solve these problems, the Toronto government should order
illegally parked cars to be towed than before, and the construction should be faster and
more intensive. Much construction is one of the problems of heavy traffic. The city
of Toronto and Toronto Transit Commission planned various construction projects
throughout downtown this spring, summer and fall. The plans have 12 kinds of
construction projects only in downtown (Downtown construction, n.d). These
projects are only government works, private companies does not include in these

John Tory, who is Toronto mayor, said that he will attach higher price to closing

workers. If these ways are in progress, traffic congestion will be get better, and
construction developers do not have to worry about

1953 Waco Tornado
Since the beginning of time there have been countless weather disasters, which
include hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. Comparable to other natural disasters,
there is a great deal of severe damage to properties, businesses and unfortunately
loss of life. There were a total of 422 tornadoes throughout the country in 1953.
Texas has endured a multitude of disastrous storms; however on May 11, 1953 there
was a particular storm that forever transformed a city called Waco, Texas known as
1953 Waco Tornado.
In 1953, the Waco tornado was part of a tornado outbreak sequence with a series of

Similarities Between Abigail Williams And Joseph Mccarthy
Joseph McCarthy from Goodnight and Good Luck by George Clooney, and
Abigail Williams from The Crucible by Arthur Miller, have a lot of similarities
and differences. The book The Crucible, is about the Salem witch trials in 1692.
The movie Goodnight and Good Luck is about a campaign to root out Communists
in America. For example, both of them are being accused of being something that
they aren t. Abigail Williams is person who is really selfish and manipulative, she

Character Analysis Of Angie In The Gift Of Cochise
The traditional western hero has so closely synonymized itself with the image of the
rugged, horse riding, cowboy hat wearing, gun shooting white man, that a fearful
wife and mother appears entirely antithetical to the very notion of the frontier hero.
Yet, Louie L amour adeptly crafts his western hero out of the very same
aforementioned traits through his character Angie in The Gift of Cochise. Angie s
logical, pragmatic, and calculated actions, because of her role as a wife and mother,
allow her to successfully advance westward and settle in Apache territory as the
rightful western hero of the story. While various male characters attempt dutifully to
satisfy Turner s hypothesis of advancement westward, their reckless approach to the...

His descriptions as tough and brawling emphasize the resilience associated with the
traditional western hero. However, his lack of defined purpose in continuing his
pursuit westward causes him to fall short of truly encapsulating the western hero.
Angie Lowe, in contrast, diverges from her father s credulous justification for
moving west, by choosing to move for the particular reason of helping her husband,
settling when she sees a territory satisfactory for her family. Her fulfillment of Turner
s hypothesis centers around her duty as a wife to help Ed leave Santa Fe for a more
suitable home rather than the intangible and nebulous allure of the glorified west. L
amour deliberately mentions that Angie, not Ed, chooses the property on West Dog
Canyon, implying that the move into the frontier is solely because Santa Fe [is] not
good for Ed (L amour 58). More importantly, unlike her father, who continues
moving even after finding a wife and having a kid, Angie stops once she finds the
house with grass, water, and shelter from the wind, [that] Angie with an Irish eye for
the land saw would grow crops (L amour 58). As evidenced by Angie s choice to
move west, not because of glory or adventure, but for the practical advancement of
her family, Angie more successfully fills the role of the western hero. While her
feminine take on the Turner hypothesis, through the
The World Of Business Is Chiefly Based On The Aspects
Of...
Without a doubt, the world of business is chiefly based on the aspects of supply
and demand. Throughout history, a multitude of companies both big and small and
offline and online have been able to grow and spread through providing the best
services to customers. In the form of products and services, various companies have
been able to build upon preexisting value ratings while at the same time using this
as a template to help boost more sales down the line. However, as technology
changed so did the power of promotion. For instance, prior to the invention of the
radio, many companies had to rely either upon word of mouth or different forms of
advertisingthrough print ads. This was particularly the key factors that aided in the
growth and promotion of companies such as Sears throughout its creation and
development in the late 1880s. In short, with the widespread availability of traveling
through the newly introduced national railroad system, the founders created, passed
around, and mailed their innovative catalogs to help spread word and deliver
products to consumers (Brake, 88). Decades later with the invention of the radio,
companies increasingly had much more bargaining power as they could literally
speak directly to their audience. A few decades later, this overall level of marketing
grew even more in reference to the actual presentation of products and services with
the invention of the television. For the very first time in history, companies could

Agile Software Solution Supporting Cross Organizational Business Transactions
Introduction/ Background The number of organizations that automate cross
organizational business transactions is rapidly expanding. Malone (2001:104)
indicates the relentless march of improvements in the cost performance ratio of in

the benefits of performing transactions electronically include extending market reach,
saving time, cutting costs and responding to customer queries more agilely . Media

Preventing Animal Abuse In The United States
Imagine this, an owner throwing a bag of dog food to one hundred fifty dogs that
fight to get their needs. Some dogs coming out with their ears torn off and some
with no food. Many dogs out in the country of the United States are being abused
everyday. People don t realize what harms their dogs and they don t know how to
treat them. Dogs are just like humans and they need to be treated the right way.
Although people know that dog abuse exists, we never take the time to look into it
to see how we can prevent it; There are many ways to help prevent dog abuse such
as reporting it to your local animalshelter and making sure to take responsibilities for

People abuse dogs because of a disorder or because of how they re affected in their
life. In the article Reasons That People Abuse Animals, argues that usually, it is
because of some psychological disorder. People, plants, and animals are in just on

respect. People abuse dogs for reasons such as having a psychological disorder.
Having a disorder could lead to people abusing their own dogs, but people must
learn that dogs are just as similar to human beings. Humans and animals all live in
one world, one ecosystem, one planet, and one galaxy. People need to learn to treat
animals. Just because one has a disorder, does not mean they have the right to
abuse their dog. Maybe it isn t a disorder causing people to abuse dogs, rather it
could be because of how people are getting treated themselves. The article

The Role Of Gentrification In America
Gentrification is the process of turning a working class neighborhood into a
middle or upper class neighborhood by renovating old buildings then selling them
to more affluent buyers. This has been pushing minorities, mainly African
Americans, out of their homes and into less fortunate neighborhoods that they can
afford. This happens all over the country but has been more common in the last 16
years, as cities population percentages grow the percentage of minorities seem to
decrease. Housing in cities have dramatically increased for some reason other than
there not being enough room for everyone moving into cities or are they trying to
push certain people out such as african americans? In the book, This side of home,
Maya and her twin sister Nikki experience Gentrification by her neighborhood
becoming up and coming, this angers maya because of the opportunities given to
white business owners instead of African americans who were denied loans from
banker. As her neighborhood is developing new coffee shops and boutiques maya
feels like her home is slipping away. Nikki feels the complete opposite, she s excited
about the shops and her new friends at school that have greatly influenced her life.

Along with the development of technology, there are great changes in people s daily

convenience. On the other hand, these advanced techniques may cause some

Sherry Turkle, illustrates that the technology not only does offer convenience to
people, but also leads people to have inauthentic feelings and self denial behaviors.
Moreover, the intimacy offered by robots leads people to stop communicating with

Turkle describes her view, We create ourselves as online person and give ourselves
new bodies, homes, jobs, and romances. Yet, suddenly, in the half light of virtual

people an inauthentic world to play the roles they never played before, but also

Why Was The Bolshevik Revolution Successful
There are numerous reasons why the Bolshevik revolution was successful, the most
important reason to why the revolution of October 1917 was successful was due to
the role of Lenin, this is not to say however that he was the only cause, this essay
will explain why the Bolshevik takeover succeeded.
A predominant factor in the Bolshevik takeover s victory was the weakness and poor
decisions of the provisional government (PG), the provisional government was weak
due to numerous defeats in the war and the fact that they did not change how the
country was run after the February Revolution which removed the Tsar from power,
this meant that the Provisional Government was merely seen as the Tsar with a
different face. This created discontent towards ... Show more content on

This is firstly because he was the one to decide that the Bolsheviks would try to
stop the war, which was their most popular policy, especially after the brutal failure
of the June Offensive. If it was not for this then the Bolsheviks would have not had
the support of as many soldiers or workers. The second reason why Lenin was the
most important cause was due to the fact that he turned the Bolsheviks into a brand
with him as a figurehead and with simple, easy to understand slogans such as
Peace, Land and Bread appealed to the masses as they could easily identify what
the Bolsheviks supported and why it appealed to them which in turn gained their
support. Lenin also created the Red Guard which was very important to the victory
as they were the well trained army that fought for the Bolsheviks and it was only
with them that they could overcome the PG. Lenin is also important as he was the
person who convinced the Bolshevik central committee (controlled by Trotsky) to
vote for a revolution , if it was not for this there would have been no Bolshevik
revolution in October 1917. Therefore Lenin is more important because he created
the resources and gathered the support needed to overthrow the PG by exploiting the
PG s weakness , like keeping the war, and Lenin is more important than Trotsky
because without the resources and support which Lenin had gained, he would have
not been able to pull of his master
Aerodynamic Race Car Research Paper
The same principle that allows an airplane to rise off the ground by creating lift
from its wings is used in reverse to apply force that presses the race car against the
surface of the track. This effect is referred to as aerodynamic grip and is
distinguished from mechanical grip, which is a function of the car mass
repartition, tires and suspension. The creation of downforce by passive devices
almost always can only be achieved at the cost of increased aerodynamic drag (or
friction), and the optimum setup is almost always a compromise between the two.
The aerodynamic setup for a car can vary considerably between race tracks,
depending on the length of the straights and the types of corners; some drivers also
make different choices on setup.

Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you in regard to the Bridger Teton National Forest. I write to you as
someone who believes in preservation. I believe that the forest should be preserved
and not conserved. The Bridger Teton National Forest is a landmark and should be
kept that way. It is a place where locals find solitude in huge tracts of forest
backcountry when nearby wilderness areas and national parks are crowded with out
of state visitors. It s also a place that supports traditional, sustainable activities such as
outfitting, guiding, ranching, and recreation ( Wyoming Outdoor Council 2009
2013). All of these values are being threatened because the forest is being considered
for oil and gas development. While oil and gas may be useful to us, I do not think
that the forest should suffer the consequences. The natural resources should be left
alone for everyone to enjoy in its natural state. To upset this would be environmentally
incorrect.

and a practical man; he knew how to take advantage of events. When Lenin arrived

Under the NEP peasants handed over half of the food they produced to the
government. Whatever surplus was left they could sell for profit. The policy gave
peasants an incentive to work the more food they produced, the richer they became.
Food production expanded. The best, most successful farmers became known as
kulaks. They became rich because of the NEP. In industry, the most successful
workers became known as Nepmen. The NEP resulted in huge increases in
production in all sectors of the Russian economy.
However in January 21st 1924 Lenin died. Lenin had a pragmatic and realistic
approach to problems. He was able to seize the moment which was vital in the
Bolsheviks gaining power. His organisation and leadership of the Bolshevik party
transformed it.
When Lenin died in January 1924 he had nominated Leon Trotsky as his chosen
successor. Yet it was Joseph Stalinwho was eventually to emerge as leader of the
party. This was largely because Stalin was a clever and astute politician, who was
seen as being a man of the people. He was able to manoeuvre himself into a
position of power through his role as General Secretary of the Communist Party.
Once in power, he exerted an iron grip on the USSR. Stalin s aims differed from
Lenin s in that he did not expect to spread Communism worldwide until Communism
was secure in the USSR. He also wanted to achieve autarky in
How Does Julius Caesar Impact The World
Although people can physically die, one s presence can have an everlasting impact
on the world. This idea is no better portrayed than in William Shakespeare s Julius
Caesar. Caesar is assassinated in Act Three by the conspirators because they believe
he will become an unopposed tyrant. Brutus and Cassius, conspirators who stabbed
Caesar, both kill themselves as they cannot live with the guilt of killing Caesar.
Caesar even appears to Brutus s as a ghost, constantly harassing him. After his death,
Caesar s name, spirit, and body leave a lasting impact on the world.
Although Caesar dies physically in Act Three, he lives on in name. After Caesar
dies, his name continues to make an appearance in the play mainly through Brutus
and Cassius. Caesar is not forgotten as maybe anyone else passing would be, but
rather his name has a profound presence after his death. In the pre battle of Philippi
parlay, Caesar s name appears an astonishing eight times in 30 lines. For example,
Caesar s name is said twice in two lines when Octavius is talking to peers in the
following quotation. Never, till Caesar s three and thirty wounds / Be well aveng
d or till another Caesar (5.1.53 54). Even though he s dead, the quotation above
proves how people definitely still remembered his name. Caesar s name appears
twice in more significant ways later on when Brutus and Cassius s last words, before
their deaths, are spoken about Caesar. Ironically, Brutus s last words are not even
about his beloved wife,
Prospective Memory
I would like to write my research proposal this semester on the effects of HIV on
prospective memory. I chose this topic for two reasons, one personal and one
professional. First, my cousin died of AIDS in 2007. I didn t get to know him very
well and did not know that he was sick until right before he died. Even though we
weren t close, I ve always felt a connection to him. I would like to know what his
life was like as he lived with his illness and this topic would give me insight into
how he lived leading up to his death. Second, I want to be a counselor for children
and adolescents with chronic illnesses, HIVbeing one of the illnesses that I want to
work with. I believe that knowing how HIV affects the prospective memory of my
future patients will allow for me to help them overcome any deficiencies so that they

Prospective memory is the extent to which people can remember to complete tasks
that they need to do in the future such as completing homework or going to a doctor
appointment. HIV is a virus that can lead to AIDS. AIDS affects a person s immune
system, allowing for opportunistic diseases to enter their body causing severe
illness or death. HIV is spread through the sharing of bodily fluids. The two most
common ways that HIV is spread is through sexual activity and childbirth.
However, there are now medications that reduce the risk of a mother giving HIV to
her child, as well as medication to reduce the risk of contracting HIV after exposure
to bodily fluids of someone with the virus. Previously, a diagnosis of HIV was a
death sentence. Today, people with HIV can lead normal lives with a life expectancy
not too much shorter than those without

Part of this is related to the restrictive bilateral agreements, which also protect the

Some states have privatized their airlines and others intend to do so, a considerable
number remain state owned. As Forsyth observes, there is a strong correlation
between per capita income levels and private ownership. In the richer countries in
the region, such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, along with the
colony of Hong Kong, all the airlines are privately owned. By contrast, there are few
examples of private ownership of airlines in the poorer countries , while a number of
governments have allowed the introduction of private airlines (e.g. Asiana in Korea,
Dragonair in Hong Kong) to compete on international routes.

  • 3. The Importance Of Extracurricular Activities And Personal... Try to remember your first day at school. Generally, teachers cannot even remember the name of any one of their students. Now, how exactly are they supposed to remember all of their 120 students personal lives? Contrary to that belief, most students believe that teachers should account for their extracurricular activities and personal lives. But, not only is that not possible, it is not plausible. Obviously, for students, keeping up with their work and personal lives is a hard task to manage, but developing their time management skills is something each student will need to learn to do as they continue their studies in college. Teachers should not have to plan their curriculum around student responsibilities due to the numerous types of jobs and extracurricular activities students take part in. According to Dunbar s Number, we as people can only remember at most 150 names, of course, that number is the maximum. On average, according to 21 percent of the faculty members of West Warwick Public Schools, the average numbers of students per class would be 120 to 125 students per year. Therefore, it makes sense teachers would struggle at remembering even 125 names, let alone their complex personal lives. Teachers, along with their students names, would have to remember their students personal lives and then go on to create a curriculum based around those numerous activities. Obviously, most teachers would find that unreasonable. Therefore, it is more than clear teachers

(2006) have stated the importance of understanding how potential buyers of new houses prioritize different elements of a house to measure the trade off between different housing attributes. Eventually, these factors have to be able to satisfy or dissatisfy the expectations of the potential buyers in their properties. This research bases it s finding on a vignette based survey to measure customization requirements the customers residing in Netherlands have and the trade off presented is between standardization and customization for the maximum price payable. Initially, the authors base this study of an empirical survey results and interviews with experts dealing in mass customization; focusing on customer priorities. From the survey, it was established that 35 major attributes are offered as variation for customization. Literature review and interview questionnaires helped establish 5 major dimensions in which these could be classified (1) Technical Systems (2) Interior Finish (3) Floor Plan (4) House Volume and Exterior; and (5) Environment. These were prioritized considering how they affect the decision making process of perspective buyers. Next the relative importance of the 35 attributes were determined followed by a trade off for the potential price the buyers might pay was established using regression analysis. This research was impactful and showed the trends in pricing with respect to a lot of physical and environmental factors; though curb appeal
  • 5. Essay on Internet The Ethics of Online Medical Records Abstract: This paper describes the ethical implications of developing a national online medical database. Such a database would contain the lifetime health records of every U.S. resident by combining information from a variety of sources. The advantages of such a system are many, but in the end, the question remains whether patients want to trade privacy for better healthcare. Today, the medical records of most Americans are scattered across multiple clinics and hospitals, possibly across several states. The task of piecing together a patient s medical history can become quite time consuming and laborious, as the files first need to be located and then faxed [5]. The possibility of combining medical records into a central medical database would solve many of these problems, as well as bring new benefits. With a shared medical database, doctors would have vital information about a patient at their fingertips. Very little time would be lost in looking for a patient s medical records and piecing the data together. A shared medical database would save lives by providing accurate and complete information to doctors, especially those not familiar with their patients. For instance, if a person had a serious accident while vacationing in a different state, the doctors there would have instant access to his medical records in his home state. Locating the patient s family doctor and faxing the patient s medical history would be unnecessary. If the patient has allergies to certain drugs, the doctors would be aware of it, thus avoiding further complications [6]. With more complete information, doctors would be given the power to treat an unfamiliar, out of state patients in a timely and effective manner. Sharing medical data would also enormously benefit organizations

Starting very young in his studies of music, he held many important positions they would develop him into the composer he became. Born in Bonn, Germany to a singer, he held his first position at the church. He later moved to Vienna where his composed several pieces, and even an opera. He created a new style of music, cyclic form. Background Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 28 March 1827) was one of the greatest art musicians, and probably had more influence over musical events than any composer, of his time (Charlton, 2016). In a database system, hardware includes many parts, such as CPU processing power, available primary memory (RAM), hard disk, and network about high speed connection (Coronel and Morris, 2015). For CPU basic requirement, normally it should have dual core CPU or higher to increase the database performance as fast as possible. The larger RAM is, the computer will run faster. Hard disk is essential to the fast speed for a database environment. Finally, without a high speed network connection, high database performance cannot be guaranteed. Today, switches are much faster than hubs. Using switches instead of hubs can improve the network effectivity and efficiency. A reliable and high speed network can improve the database performance and reduce response time. However, in a real world, unlimited hardware support is impossible. We see how violence has affected his life and other people s perspective of him. He started out in the Army at a very young age and carried out the harsh tasks that he was given, no matter how cruel they were. Longoria is a strong minded person. For him to carry out some of the assignments he was given, it takes a different kind of person. For example, the incident with the people in the village. He murdered a whole village of innocent people. To me, this shows that Longoria is ruthless. In a sense, I would almost say that he has lost his mind. After years of killing like he did, how does he not have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Most people that must go through and witness the things like Longoria are scarred for the rest of their life. For example, my grandfather was in the military during Vietnam. He would wake up screaming in the middle of the night, fireworks and loud noises bothered him, among other little things that would trigger his PTSD. Violenceeventually takes its toll and I think it got the best of Longoria. The first altercation between Antonio and Longoria happens about half way through the book. Antonio travels to the park where Longoria usually plays chess and sets out to killhim. He arrives and asks for Longoria but he hasn t arrived yet. After waiting, Longoria finally arrives. When someone tries to give other people credits for their achievement, they do this with the idea of showing people that they are modest, which is false modesty. Throughout history, a multitude of companies both big and small and offline and online have been able to grow and spread through providing the best services to customers. In the form of products and services, various companies have been able to build upon preexisting value ratings while at the same time using this as a template to help boost more sales down the line. However, as technology changed so did the power of promotion. This was particularly the key factors that aided in the growth and promotion of companies such as Sears throughout its creation and development in the late 1880s. In short, with the widespread availability of traveling through the newly introduced national railroad system, the founders created, passed around, and mailed their innovative catalogs to help spread word and deliver products to consumers (Brake, 88). The Role Of Gentrification In America Gentrification is the process of turning a working class neighborhood into a middle or upper class neighborhood by renovating old buildings then selling them to more affluent buyers. A predominant factor in the Bolshevik takeover s victory was the weakness and poor decisions of the provisional government (PG), the provisional government was weak due to numerous defeats in the war and the fact that they did not change how the country was run after the February Revolution which removed the Tsar from power, this meant that the Provisional Government was merely seen as the Tsar with a different face. This is firstly because he was the one to decide that the Bolsheviks would try to stop the war, which was their most popular policy, especially after the brutal failure of the June Offensive. If it was not for this then the Bolsheviks would have not had the support of as many soldiers or workers. The second reason why Lenin was the most important cause was due to the fact that he turned the Bolsheviks into a brand with him as a figurehead and with simple, easy to understand slogans such as Peace, Land and Bread appealed to the masses as they could easily identify what the Bolsheviks supported and why it appealed to them which in turn gained their support. Lenin also created the Red Guard which was very important to the victory as they were the well trained army that fought for the Bolsheviks and it was only with them that they could overcome the PG. Lenin is also important as he was the person who convinced the Bolshevik central committee (controlled by Trotsky) to vote for a revolution , if it was not for this there would have been no Bolshevik revolution in October 1917. Therefore Lenin is more important because he created the resources and gathered the support needed to overthrow the PG by exploiting the PG s weakness , like keeping the war, and Lenin is more important than Trotsky because without the resources and support which Lenin had gained, he would have not been able to pull of his master
  • 36. Aerodynamic Race Car Research Paper The same principle that allows an airplane to rise off the ground by creating lift from its wings is used in reverse to apply force that presses the race car against the surface of the track. This effect is referred to as aerodynamic grip and is distinguished from mechanical grip, which is a function of the car mass repartition, tires and suspension. The creation of downforce by passive devices almost always can only be achieved at the cost of increased aerodynamic drag (or friction), and the optimum setup is almost always a compromise between the two. The aerodynamic setup for a car can vary considerably between race tracks, depending on the length of the straights and the types of corners; some drivers also make different choices on setup.

This idea is no better portrayed than in William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar. Caesar is assassinated in Act Three by the conspirators because they believe he will become an unopposed tyrant. Brutus and Cassius, conspirators who stabbed Caesar, both kill themselves as they cannot live with the guilt of killing Caesar. Caesar even appears to Brutus s as a ghost, constantly harassing him. After his death, Caesar s name, spirit, and body leave a lasting impact on the world. Although Caesar dies physically in Act Three, he lives on in name. The United States Air Force allocated several B 24 Liberators, heavy bombers that were retrofitted with radar and depth charges, to the RAF Coastal Command, which patrolled the waters for German submarines. In the Battle of the Atlantic in 1943, these aircraft of the RAF coastal command destroyed many U boats out of the water and forced Germany to withdraw their submarines from the lanes in the Atlantic, allowing ships transporting supplies to Allied countries to travel the oceans and coasts with little resistance.
