As thin air encloses me as I inaugurate the last day of skiing at Breckenridge,
Colorado. Three days of skiing cease rather painlessly; I stumble oftenly but an
evening on the couch next to a crackling wood fire soothes my minor aches. Closing
times nudges on the final day of our weekend trip as I prepare for my ultimate run of
the vacation. Fresh off the skilift, I glide towards the junction of the trials
unoccupied skilled face of the mountain. I detach my boots from my ski s and rest
them on my shoulder, climbing up the rim of the mountain while the wind sways me

The revolution in Russia started spontaneously in February 1917 when the
Bolsheviks leader Vladimir Lenin plotted to overthrow the government and take
power. The Tsar in Russia Nicholas II was abdicated in March 1917 and the
provisional committee of the Duma formed the provisional government. The duel
power interrupted the government authority and the soviets were in control. Now the
provisional government decided to continue with the war because western allies were
needed. That was a mistake along other major mistakes such as putting off the
promised reforms which of course did upset the peasants and the government also
postponed the election. After the fail of the February revolution Lenin returned to
Russia in April and he released his new thesis that stated that the Bolsheviks supports
the Soviets. With the Bolsheviks representing only 10% Lenin attempt to advocate a
break with the provisional government failed. The July days between the 3rd and the
6th were a disaster for the Bolsheviks. The demonstrations were easily crushed by the

heart rate in girls and boys compared to their scared heart rate. What was done to
test the variable (heart rate) was I got each person in a room alone and they
watched a video ( YouTube ). They were told that it s a slide show of different
videos, because most people said, there s going to be a pop up . In the video that
was shown to them is a picture of a cat and it is on the screen for about 30 seconds
then a scary woman screaming pops up. The results concluded that the majority of
people s heart rates went down. Going against the hypothesis stated.

During the 13th century, religious dialogue among different cultures was expanding
at a rapid rate (457). With this cross cultural exchange came competing views which
vied for religious dominance in both Eastern and Western civilizations. Notably, many
arguments in favor of Christianity were spread by Franciscan friars such as John of
Plano Carpini, John of Monte Corvino, and William of Ruysbruck. Additionally,
scholars such as Ibn Kammuna concerned themselves with the comparative study of
religion. As a Jewish thinker, Ibn Kammuna found this comparative study to be
particularly important within the context of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in order
to defend monotheism in the East (468). Though the Franciscan friars may have had
more at stake in their defenses of Christianity (as a political tactic against a Mongol
invasion of Europe, for example), it is Ibn Kammuna s arguments concerning
Christianity that are most persuasive to non Christians. Ibn Kammuna begins his
Examination of Three Faiths by succinctly and effectively explaining what the major

during the civil rights movement. Coles, cites an author throughout his book by the
name of James Agee. Agee worked for Fortune Magazine in the 1930s, he was sent

The Council is made up of ministerial representatives of each of the 27 member states
of the Union. Thus, when considering economic matters, the various states will be
represented by their finance ministers or, if the matter relates to agriculture, the
various agricultural ministers will attend. The Council of Ministers is, in essence, the
supreme organ of the EU and, as such, it has the final say in deciding upon
Community legislation. Although it acts on recommendations and proposals made to
it by the Commission, it does have the power to instruct the Commission to undertake
particular investigations and to submit detailed proposals for its consideration.
The European Parliament
The European Parliament is the directly elected European institution and, to that
extent, it can be seen as the body which exercises democratic control over the
operation of the EU. As in national Parliaments, Members are elected to represent
constituencies, the elections being held every five years. Membership is divided
amongst the 27 member states in proportion to the size of their various populations.
The Parliament s general secretariat is based in Luxembourg and although the
Parliament sits in plenary session in Strasbourg for one week in each month, its

League of Nations. The primary motive of the League of Nations was to prevent
/deter or address any aggression by a state through collective response from other
states, thereby ensuring collective security. By ensuring collective security, the
member states aimed to discourage an aggressor nation from waging war against the
victim nation through the prospect of the aggressor having to face the collective
power of the members who were signatories to the League of Nations . The League
