Database Options Security & Risk Management
• The pandemic illustrated why an organisation needs to be able to rapidly
adapt and respond to business disruptions.
• It is unfortunate that these times also see a surge in malicious activity.
Analysts state that attacks are up by 6 fold.
• Customers need to ensure they are proactively measuring the security
posture, especially with people working from home
• The security and risk management bundle has been designed to provide
capabilities to help customers achieve this.
• Gartner Predicts 75% of CEOs Will be Personally Liable for Cyber-
Physical Security Incidents by 2024

Product Benefits
Advanced Security
Oracle Security options help you to secure databases from deliberate security attacks, such as cyber security threats, but also from
the misuse of data and databases from those who can access them internally; including controls to evaluate risks, prevent
unauthorized data disclosure, detect and report on database activities and enforce data access controls in the database with data-
driven security.
Database Vault
Oracle Database Vault provides powerful security controls to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, and implement
separation of duties between database administrators and data owners to comply with privacy and regulatory requirements
Data Masking &
Subsetting
Oracle Data Masking and Sub-setting extracts entire copies or subsets of application data from the database and masks sensitive
data so that it can be safely shared for non-production use. Oracle Data Masking and Sub-setting improves security by reducing
the exposure of sensitive data in non-production environments. Compliance costs are lowered as the masked on- production
databases are out of the scope for the audit teams
Database Options Operational Resiliency
• The pandemic illustrated why an organisation needs to be able to rapidly
adapt and respond to business disruptions.
• Future disruptions and changes are inevitable and customers need to be
able to rapidly respond and restore business operations in a timely
fashion. They need to plan and adopt the necessary resiliency practices
needed for continuity and fast recovery.
• The operational resiliency bundle has been designed to provide
capabilities to help customers achieve this.

Oracle RAC
Oracle RAC enables the Oracle Database to run any packaged or custom application across a set of clustered servers. This capability provides
the highest levels of availability and the most flexible scalability. If a clustered server fails, then Oracle Database continues running on the
surviving servers. When more processing power is needed, you can add another server without interrupting access to data.
Oracle Real Application
Clusters One Node
(Oracle RAC One Node)
A single instance of an Oracle RAC database that runs on one node in a cluster. This feature enables you to consolidate many databases into
one cluster with minimal overhead, protecting them from both planned and unplanned downtime. The consolidated databases reap the
high availability benefits of failover protection, online rolling patch application, and rolling upgrades for the operating system and Oracle
Clusterware.
Oracle Active Data Guard
Oracle Active Data Guard provides real time data protection and disaster recovery for the Oracle database using a physical replication
process. It provides a high return on investment in disaster recovery systems by enabling a standby database to be open read-only while it
applies changes received from the primary database
Partitioning
Partitioned database objects provide partition independence. This characteristic can be an important part of a high-availability strategy e.g.
if one partition of a partitioned table is unavailable, then all of the other partitions of the table remain online and available. The application
can continue to execute queries and transactions against the available partitions for the table. Storing different partitions in different
tablespaces enables you to do backup and recovery operations on each individual partition. Thus allowing the active parts of the database
to be made available sooner so access to the system can continue, while the inactive data is still being restored.
Database Options Cost Optimization
• The pandemic illustrated why an organisation needs to be able to rapidly
adapt and respond to business disruptions.
• Future disruptions and changes are inevitable and customers need to be
able to adapt their business models and value chain as required but in a
cost effective way so managing their underlying costs.
• The cost optimization bundle has been designed to provide capabilities to
help customers achieve this.
• Up to 75% of organization's IT budget is spent on maintenance, on
keeping the lights on, leaving too few resources for innovation

Product Benefits
Multitenant
Oracle Multitenant is the optimal database consolidation method. Oracle Multitenant helps reduce IT costs by simplifying consolidation,
provisioning, upgrades and more. By consolidating multiple databases as PDBs into a single CDB, you are provided with the ability to manage
"many as one"
Advanced Compression
Provides a comprehensive set of compression capabilities to help improve database performance and reduce storage costs. It allows
organizations to reduce their overall database storage footprint by enabling compression for all types of data: relational (table), unstructured
(file), index, network, Data Guard Redo and backup data. While query performance, storage cost savings and data optimization are often seen
as the most tangible benefits, additional innovative technologies can help reduce CapEx and OpEx costs for all components of an IT
infrastructure, including memory and network bandwidth as well as heating, cooling and floor-space.
Diagnostics & Tuning
Oracle tuning is seamlessly integrated with the diagnostics so, whether you are managing one or many databases, together they provide a
cost effective, and easy to use solution for automating the complex and time-consuming tasks of managing the performance of your
applications and Database environment.
Partitioning
Partitioned database objects provide partition independence. This characteristic can be an important part of a high-availability strategy e.g. if
one partition of a partitioned table is unavailable, then all of the other partitions of the table remain online and available. The application can
continue to execute queries and transactions against the available partitions for the table. Storing different partitions in different tablespaces
enables you to do backup and recovery operations on each individual partition. Thus allowing the active parts of the database to be made
available sooner so access to the system can continue, while the inactive data is still being restored.
Database Options Performance & Agility
• The pandemic illustrated why an organisation needs to be able to rapidly
adapt and respond to business disruptions.
• Future disruptions and changes are inevitable and customers need to be
able to have fast access to their data to take the right actions and make
faster decisions, that means they (and their own customers) need fast,
agile access to applications and information.
• The Performance & Agility bundle has been designed to provide
capabilities to help customers achieve this.

In-memory
In-Memory implements state-of-the-art algorithms for in-memory scans, joins and aggregation. These optimizations enable Oracle
Database In-Memory to run queries at the astounding rate of billions of rows per second for each CPU core. Analytics that previously
took hours or longer to run can now complete in seconds, enabling real-time business decisions.
