LINEAR POTENTIOMETER Potentiometers are electrical devices which are a form of variable resistance.
It consists of a sliding contact which moves over the length of a resistance element. This sliding contact connects to a plunger, which links to the object whose displacement is to be measured.
Referring to the electrical circuit shown here, An input voltage Xt is applied across the whole resistance element, at points A and C. The output voltage, Xi , is measured between the sliding contact at point B and the end of the resistance element at point C. A linear relationship exists between the input voltage Xt, output voltage Xi and the distance BC.
ANGULAR POTENTIOMETER Rotary or angular potentiometers measure angular displacement .

Automatic Threshold on Current based Anti-pinch Mechanism for Power Windows IJECEIAES
In this paper, the automotive power window has been integrated with an advanced safety mechanism called anti-pinch system for good protection. Based on a contact method, a new safety mechanism using a low-cost technology has been proposed to set a threshold value as a limit to decide the pinch condition, or automatic threshold method. The electric current information is easily detected by using current sensor installed on a motor driver without incorporating extra device. Then the pinch condition is quickly reflected and calculated by using current information in the system. Since the automatic threshold is decided by analyzing system behavior in advance, the optimal calculation can be guaranteed and then applied it on the safety mechanism in a cost-effective manner. Through extensive experimental tests, the squeezing forces of the proposed anti-pinch system have been verified to satisfy requirements of the FMVSS 118 regulations.
Electromagnetic Braking System using Ultrasonic SensorAI Publications
The concept of our paper is based on the automatic braking system. As we know that most time the accident takes place due to loss of control, drunk & drive and much more breaking reason.In our system there is a sensor that detects the speed of movement of the vehicle and an ultrasonic sensor, that sense the distance of the object in front of the vehicle. The sensor system will sense the speed of the vehicle or object in the front while the microcontroller calculates the distance required to stop the moving vehicle. The whole system is automatic and the braking application will take place without any manual input therefore it will decrease the rate of error hence the rate of road accidents.

This paper presents a full pre-industrial prototype implementation of an innovative system capable to
detects vehicles and classify them. This work study the architecture of a full autonomous road sensor
network that count and classify passing vehicles, reducing the impact of conventional wired systems in
roads, by dramatically reducing their installation and operational costs. The power supply can be supported
either by solar harvest or by none rechargeable batteries. For communications the IEEE 802.15.4 with
ZigBee on top are used to transmit digitalized vehicle’s magnetic analogue signatures up to a vehicles
classification server. This information is acquired using a magnetometer translating in voltage the variation
of the natural magnetic field of the earth caused by ferromagnetic components of a vehicle passing over the
sensor. Results show clearly that it is possible to distinguish vehicles magnetic signatures per model and
class even at different speeds.
In high power traction system applications two or more machines are fed by one converter. This topology results in a light, more compact and less costly system. These systems are called multi-machines single-converter systems. The problems posed by different electrical and mechanical couplings in these systems (MMS) affect various stages of the systems and require control strategy to reduce adverse effects. Control of multi-machines single-converter systems is the subject of this paper. The studied MMS is an electric vehicle with four in-wheel PMS motors. A three-leg inverter supplies two permanent magnet synchronous machines which are connected to the front right and rear right wheels, and another inverter supplies the left side. Several methods have been proposed for the control of multi-machines single-inverter systems, the master-slave control structure seems best adapted for our traction system. In this paper, a new control structure based on DTC method is used for the control of bi-machine traction system of an EV. This new control has been implanted in simulation to analyze its robustness in the presence of the various load cases involved in our electric vehicle traction chain. Simulation results indicated that this structure control allowed the stability of the traction system.

In today’s world the rapid growth in automobile industry requested most accurate and high
performable vehicles, with pollution free and low cost in operation. The project free powered electric
vehicle is an automobile which works on the principle of generating electricity with the help of
synchronous electric motor and generator with attached fly wheel, boosting circuit which acts as a
free powering machine by restoring waste mechanical energy into useful electric work. This device
consists of one electric motor and generator with attached fly wheel in centre so that it connected
with motor and generator with belt pulleys. When an mechanical input is given to the generator with
help of stator its produces electricity later which is passed to motor as input so, motor rotates the
attached flywheel then the stored kinetic energy in the flywheel is utilized to multiply the rotations of
generator shaft to produce electricity with little effort on motor in this way cycle repeated and from
produced electricity some amount of electricity taken as output which is used for charging batteries,
accessories of the electric vehicle. Such that vehicle is propelled.
Today power electronics play an important role in the electric industry. Power electronic converters are an inseparable component in power systems. One of these converters is DC/AC inverter that is widely used in power systems, industrial applications, electric motor drive and electric vehicles. Due to the tense situation with the complexity that exists in these applications, inverters are exposed to failure. The fault occurring in inverter can cause disturbance and damaging harmonics, cut some industrial processes to in the power system or in the case of electric vehicles, causing irreparable damage. For this reason, detecting faults in the inverter is very important. In this paper, open circuit fault of IGBT in an electric vehicle has been examined. We use three-phase current and wavelet transform to identify the state of the system and we can extract current waveform characteristics. We use neural network algorithm for fault detection and classification. An electric vehicle in 5 different speeds and 5 different torque and a total of 220 failure modes have been studied and tested. The results show the method has been succeeded to detection all forms of defined faults.

A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. 3. Accelerometer sensor
• Accelerometers are electronic sensor which are used to measure the acceleration of the vehicle
in all the three axis. It converts acceleration into electrical signals and sends it to electronic
control unit after amplification by which the acceleration value is interpreted. In vehicle these
accelerometers helps in finding acceleration in all thee axis for vehicle control, measurement of
vibration and shocks for engine control or suspension control and also used to deploy air bag
during accidents.

A. Capacitive Accelerometer
- It consists of mass attached with the springs, when the vehicle accelerates the mass moves
the opposite direction due to pseudo force which changes
the distance of separation between plates and as we know
capacitance of the capacitor is inversely proportional to the
distance of separation the capacitance changes with the
acceleration. This leads to change in voltage and this signal
is sent to ECU which is manipulated and converted into
acceleration value.

- A piezo-resistive accelerometer has a stable structure composed on a silicon chip created by the
micromachining and semiconductor production technology. A mass and a beam on which a set
of the piezo-resisters are created on a silicon chip. A set of electrical bridged is formed by such
piezo-resistive resisters to generate signals proportional to the applied acceleration
- A piezoresistive accelerometer is based on changes in electrical resistance in a strain gauge.

- It works under the principle of piezoelectric effect which is piezoelectric materials produce
electricity when put under physical stress. When the vehicle accelerates the force acts on the
mass (Pseudo force) which leads to deformation of piezoelectric crystal structure creating the
