Introducing Cisco HyperFlex Systems: The Next Generation in Complete Hypercon...Cisco Canada
Initial hyperconverged solutions brought new levels of IT simplicity, as well as the associated speed. However, quickly increasing simplicity came at a price and design trade-offs were made limiting infrastructure agility, efficiency, and adaptability.
Introducing Cisco HyperFlex Systems, complete hyperconvergence that unifies Cisco networking and computing technology with the next-generation Cisco HX Data Platform. Powered by the Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) platform, Cisco HyperFlex solutions deliver new levels of operational efficiency and adaptability to more workloads and applications. Cisco HyperFlex technology answers the operations requirements for agility, scalability, and pay-as-you-grow economics of the cloud—but with the benefits of on-premises infrastructure.
Agenda:
• New innovations to the Cisco data center portfolio
• Introducing Cisco HyperFlex Systems powered by the Cisco UCS platform
• Deep dive into the Cisco HyperFlex HX Data Platform
• Preview early deployments of Cisco HyperFlex Systems
Virtualized environments have become standard for organizations seeking benefits like reduced costs and flexibility. However, infrastructure elements often remain separated. Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) integrates compute, storage, and networking through software to provide these benefits. This document examines the pros and cons of HCI for small and medium-sized businesses, discussing how HCI simplifies management but may also create challenges around security, staffing needs, and scalability.
Nutanix radically simplifies enterprise datacenters by replacing legacy storage, such as SAN and NAS arrays, with a modular, scale-out appliance. Nutanix delivers web-scale IT infrastructure to medium and large enterprises with its software-driven Virtual Computing Platform, which natively converges compute and storage into a single solution to drive unprecedented simplicity of the datacenter. Customers can start with a few servers and scale to thousands, with fully predictable performance and economics.
This document discusses Nutanix's converged infrastructure platform which combines storage and computing resources into a single system. It aims to provide Google-like infrastructure for enterprises with a software-defined, hyperconverged approach that offers linear scalability, predictable economics, and simplified management compared to traditional complex datacenter architectures. Nutanix has seen unprecedented customer adoption and has grown to become one of the fastest growing infrastructure companies of the last decade.

Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
