Mobile devices have changed how people work by allowing them to stay connected anywhere, but this has fragmented corporate knowledge across many communication tools. It is difficult to find and extract pertinent information from emails, chats, messages, etc. As work becomes more collaborative, employees need access to corporate knowledge anytime from mobile devices. However, traditional knowledge management systems required filing information away and did not work for the mobile dispersed workforce. Vmoso is a communication and collaboration platform that captures information and conversations in real-time, organizing it in one place accessible from any device. This helps turn information into persistent corporate knowledge that can be found and used over time.

We have become a society where information is received multiple ways simultaneously. Media simultaneously has “talking heads,” visual data, social media and graphics at the bottom of the screen; accessible everywhere. Younger generations expect this constant video flow as the norm. Can this backfire? How do we use it to our advantage instead of giving in to ‘information overload’? It is time to develop a strategy to better engage people by effectively using collaboration and visual tools. Here we discuss how to shift the ever-common business meeting into a collaborative session that not only boosts productivity, but nurtures your “soft assets” and promotes a measurement far more important than ROI—your ROE (return on engagement).

Session overview:
Mobile learning has the potential to disrupt our traditional methods of training delivery. Our smartphones are constantly connected, the interactions we use such as swiping and tapping enable these devices to behave very differently to desktop or laptop computers. Yet our designs for learning remain focused on desktop interactions that just won’t suit mobiles.
We’ve been researching the use of mobile in organisations, including mobile learning, for a number of years now. In 2012 we conducted research into the State of Mobile Learning in Australia (see the results Part 1 and Part 2).

When Social Media Poses a Threat to Your Business. Two employe.docxalanfhall8953
When Social Media Poses a Threat to Your Business.
Two employees decide to go on to Facebook to make remarks about the way they are being treated by their employer of multiple years. The company offers them full benefits, insurance and all the bells and whistles any employee can imagine. They usually just laugh off their angry supervisor’s behavior but this particular day they were fed up and ready to vent to the world of social media. Since Facebook has an app for mobile devises once the comments are made the buzz spreads like a wildfire. It began just in their building and later to the next building over and soon all five offices of the corporate sector had begun talking. With only 2 hours to go until the close of the day the employees had been called into the office released, stripped of their badges and immediately escorted of sight by security.
Why does this happen why do people feel the need to vent their valid however more than not temporary feelings? What could the employees have done to avoid getting fired? How could the supervisor have handled the situation to prevent the employees from making those remarks on Facebook? Is this a matter of freedom of speech or common sense? The bottom line is social has become a double edged sword for businesses because of issues like this very fictional scenario.
According to the Article “Employee Use & Abuse of Social Media’ until 2011 the National Labor Relations Board would too terminate the two employees from the scenario above until closer consideration was taken and the NLRB began actively pursuing and litigating instances where employees were terminated for making postings critical of their employers in social media in violation of the NLRA (Polid). In fact they found that an employee’s rights were terminated for blogging about their supervisor and settled. The NLRB basically decided that remarks made online are not grounds for firing unless the threat of verbal or physical violence is present.
Another concern is the time employees’ are spending online during business hours. Employees are spending a lot of time online as I myself see so many postings during business hours in fact the bulk of my news feed occurs from Nine to five. Should it be a crime to be stealing time from your employer? Where does Integrity and common sense come in? I believe these are just a few of social media’s threats to business’s.

The Future of Remote Work_ Trends and Challenges.pdfadityapatil931452
Remote work once considered a niche concept, has become increasingly prevalent in today's digital age. With advancements in technology and shifting attitudes toward work-life balance, remote work has emerged as a viable alternative to traditional office-based employment. As we look towards the future, it's important to examine the trends and challenges shaping the future of remote work.
Enterprises always look for ways to help employees collaborate with each other more effectively that leads to faster and higher-quality work, which, in turn, drives increased productivity. Though most enterprises keep employee collaboration on top of their corporate agenda, they still lag behind to drive that force to its optimum level! Using traditional approaches for attaining high productivity and innovation among employees are no more beneficial and effective in fast-technology pace and people oriented work space environments.
The Benefits of Enterprise Social for IT ProfessionalsMicrosoft
The world has become a giant network, transformed by the
growth of mobile devices and social technologies. In fact,
there are now more devices than people.1 This networked
world is clearly evident in our personal lives: We keep in
touch with our friends and family on Facebook or Instagram,
use Twitter to get the latest news from people around the
globe, and often find our next career opportunity with
LinkedIn. In this networked world, people connect with each
other easily, information and knowledge move faster, and we
are able to accomplish more by working together.
Sigmund Freud said happiness depends on our ability to love and work. For decades, "work" typically entailed a home-work-home concept, confined to the four walls of an office cubicle. Fast forwarding to present day, work is no more a place where you go every day, but is rather something you do. Work is something that moves with you and lets you connect and communicate through mobile workspaces. As long as you feel motivated, work can be accomplished from anywhere. With disruptive technologies like IoT leading the change, the new age workforce has broken free from the shackles of a 9 - 5 existence and moved to digital workspaces, thus changing the fundamental nature of work.

1. Mobile has changed the way we work. Your smart-
phone or tablet lets you stay in touch with colleagues,
customers and partners wherever in the world you–or
they—are. But this work style comes at the expense
of collective corporate knowledge – many of these
mobile-to-mobile conversations are taking place using
tools ill-suited for business communication, fragmenting
knowledge across a wide range of different services.
It is almost impossible for co-workers to go back and
find and extract the pertinent knowledge contained in
documents, emails, chats, instant messages, texts or
voice calls.
When using these tools, applications and systems,
we are creating instantaneous communication which
is temporary and disposable. It is consumed now, but
hard to access in the future and even more difficult to
share across the enterprise. In the old world of silos
and cradle-to-grave jobs, this was acceptable. Today
the workplace moves at lightning speed. Information
cannot be scattered about, it must be easily found and
utilized. It must become corporate knowledge.
As work becomes increasing more collaborative,
employees everywhere must tap into corporate
knowledge at any time. Knowledge management, a
key component of corporate competitive advantage,
has been difficult to implement because it has required
employees taking time after a project or discussion to
file it away in the KM system. No one could figure out
how to systemically turn information into corporate
knowledge. Today’s dispersed workforce and frequent
job changing makes successful knowledge manage-
ment difficult…until now.
Are you creating corporate knowledge or
engaging in instant use conversations?
Where Knowledge Management
Meets Mobile Collaboration
Talk is cheap. These days we have endless easy
ways of sending messages and getting replies.
But going back and finding what was said... that’s
much harder. With the multitude of fragmented
tools and natural human behavior, it is difficult to
create engagement and collaborate. It is even more
difficult to transition from information to persistent
corporate knowledge.
For years, ever since Peter Drucker coined the
term “Knowledge Management” (KM) and talked
about the knowledge economy, companies and
corporate leaders have tried to implement systems
and processes to capture information and move it
to corporate knowledge. It has not worked. Why?
Not because it doesn’t make sense or lacks value.
The fundamental problem is the way most people
communicate is inherently selfish. Knowledge man-
agement initiatives have failed because they require
a rewiring of human behavior and technology has
not existed to bridge this gap.
Should we accept that knowledge management
is dead? No. It is more important today than ever
before. The rise of the mobile worker combined
with movement within a company and to new
companies has created situations where important
corporate knowledge moves with that worker. It
is not captured and managed for long term value.
While technology has made knowledge manage-
ment achievable, the multiple tools employees use
can create artificial barriers to achieving this goal.
Information is in email inboxes; it’s distributed
around a range of new communication tools such
as group chat, instant messaging, and consumer
chat tools. These may improve the speed of
communication, but they cause even further damage
to corporate knowledge by disintegrating it across
incompatible systems making discovery harder
than ever.
Today’s communication is tomorrow’s knowledge
– capture it at the source or lose it forever!
