• Vitamin k was discovered by Danish scientist
Henrik Dam.
• The name k comes from the Danish word
koagulation vitamin (clotting factor).
• It is fat soluble vitamin.
3. Available Forms
There are 3 forms of vitamin K:
• Vitamin K1 or phylloquinone-green leafy
vegetable
• Vitamin K2 or menaquinone-produced by
bacteria in fermented food
• Vitamin K3 or menadione- found in synthetic
form.
4. Functions of vitamin k
• vitamin that is most well known for the
important role in blood clotting.
• However vitamin k is also absolutely essential
to building strong bones, preventing heart
disease.

8. Deficiency of vita k
• Low level of vita k can raised uncontrolled
bleeding
• Where vita k deficiencies are very rare in
adults and they are very common in new born
and infants

• There is no definite amount of vitamin k that
is considered as excessive.

• Vitamin E is fat soluble vitamin that act as a
antioxident.
• It is superhero, capable of donating electron
to the villainious free radicle.

of time can cause
