ITAM UK 2017 Vendor negotiations in a cloudy world_Kylie FowlerMartin Thompson
Kylie Fowler gave a presentation at the ITAM Review UK Conference 2017 about vendor negotiations in a cloud computing world. She discussed how the IT landscape is shifting from perpetual on-premise software licenses to cloud "as-a-service" models where software is consumed and paid for based on usage. This new model has implications for both vendors and customers in negotiations. Vendors have more visibility into how software is used, while customers must balance business value and costs. Negotiations now require input from the business, IT, information security, and legal to consider factors like data residency, licensing, and exit strategies.

Federal Incentives That Can Show You the MoneyCBIZ, Inc.
Federal Incentives That Can Show You the Money
As the country continues to fight its way out of the economic downturn, businesses and their owners are constantly looking for ways to increase cash flow. Several Federal tax incentives are available to help you meet this goal. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be in a high-tech industry to benefit from the Research and Experimentation Credit. Nor do you need to place in service an entire “green” building to benefit from the Energy Efficient Commercial Buildings Deduction or other energy incentives. Even if your business currently isn’t producing taxable income, you may still be able to use these incentives to recover taxes paid in prior years or shelter future taxable income.
This presentation discusses key elements of:
• Research and Development Tax Credits
• Domestic Production Activities Deduction
• Energy Efficient Building Deduction

Ergonomic Safety in Highly Mobile Office Environments at CloroxRemedy Interactive
Many companies embrace their mobile workforce. In fact, some Fortune 500 companies are even converting individual offices into collaborative work spaces, to accommodate employees who may come into an office location only one or two days a week. While this allows companies to better utilize facility space and foster community bonding, it poses bigger challenges for ergonomists, who need to ensure employees have the right workstation setup – whether they’re at home, or in an office workspace, or at a cafe. Clorox, a multi-billion dollar manufacturer of food and chemical products, has established an ergonomics program to support the company’s highly mobile workforce. Find out what the program entails and how the lessons learned at Clorox can apply to your organization.

Other examples of successful implementations are provided for Hewlett Packard, Chevron and Pacific Gas & Electric.
This document describes Sempra Energy's ergonomics program to reduce office injuries and costs. It outlines three pillars of success: 1) proactive identification of risks before injuries occur using web-based assessments, 2) management buy-in and support through communicating the business case, and 3) data-based decision making by identifying issues, measuring outcomes, and prioritizing efforts. The program led to increased participation, identification of high-risk employees, decreased injury rates and costs, and positive employee feedback about its usability and helpfulness.
This document discusses building an effective injury prevention program using scalable technology and people. It outlines 5 steps to create such a program: 1) Make the business case for prevention to senior management. 2) Identify risks and prioritize focus. 3) Prioritize actions and share information. 4) Get risk mitigation information to workers. 5) Measure progress, improve, and ensure accountability. Technology enables scaling the program while people focus on understanding risks, training workers, and driving culture change. The second company coordinated benefits and saw a 40-45% drop in lost time claims through multidisciplinary teams and a phased approach. Overall, the document argues that risk-based, employee-engaged, and measurable injury prevention programs can significantly benefit organizations' costs and productivity when integrated with wellness.
This document discusses how technology can help make an organization's ergonomics program more efficient, effective, and measurable. It recommends a three-tiered approach: online self-evaluations and training, remote support like phone evaluations with pictures or video calls when needed, and in-person support. Technology allows for automated risk identification, engagement of employees, centralized equipment data, and outcome measurement through data analysis. The goal is to manage ergonomic risks proactively rather than just reacting to injuries.

PGx Analysis in VarSeq: A User’s PerspectiveGolden Helix
Since our release of the PGx capabilities in VarSeq, we’ve had a few months to gather some insights from various use cases. Some users approach PGx workflows by means of array genotyping or what seems to be a growing trend of adding the star allele calling to the existing NGS pipeline for whole genome data. Luckily, both approaches are supported with the VarSeq software platform. The genotyping method being used will also dictate what the scope of the tertiary analysis will be. For example, are your PGx reports a standalone pipeline or would your lab’s goal be to handle a dual-purpose workflow and report on PGx + Diagnostic findings.
The purpose of this webcast is to:
Discuss and demonstrate the approaches with array and NGS genotyping methods for star allele calling to prep for downstream analysis.
Following genotyping, explore alternative tertiary workflow concepts in VarSeq to handle PGx reporting.
Moreover, we will include insights users will need to consider when validating their PGx workflow for all possible star alleles and options you have for automating your PGx analysis for large number of samples. Please join us for a session dedicated to the application of star allele genotyping and subsequent PGx workflows in our VarSeq software.

The biomechanics of running involves the study of the mechanical principles underlying running movements. It includes the analysis of the running gait cycle, which consists of the stance phase (foot contact to push-off) and the swing phase (foot lift-off to next contact). Key aspects include kinematics (joint angles and movements, stride length and frequency) and kinetics (forces involved in running, including ground reaction and muscle forces). Understanding these factors helps in improving running performance, optimizing technique, and preventing injuries.
