2. HYPERVISOR
A hypervisor is a program that would enable you to
host several different virtual machines on a single
hardware.
It allocates the resources to the virtual machines.
3. HOST AND GUEST OS
A computer on which a hypervisor runs one or more
virtual machines is called a host machine, and each
virtual machine is called a guest machine.
4. Definition
In computing, virtualization refers to the act of
creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of
something, including virtual computer hardware
platforms, storage devices, and computer network
resources.
5. FULL VIRTUALIZATION
In this guest operating system is unaware that it is in a
virtualized environment, and therefore hardware is
virtualized by the host operating system so that the
guest can issue commands to what it thinks is actual
hardware, but really are just simulated hardware
devices created by the host.
6. PARA VIRTUALIZATION
Paravirtualization is virtualization in which the guest
operating system (the one being virtualized) is aware
that it is a guest and accordingly has drivers that,
instead of issuing hardware commands, simply issue
commands directly to the host operating system.
7. XEN HYPERVISOR
Xen Project is a hypervisor using providing services
that allow multiple computer operating systems to
execute on the same computer
hardware concurrently.
9. ABOUT VMware
VMware Workstation is a virtual machine software
suite for x86 and x86-64 computers from VMware,
which allows users to set up multiple x86 and x86-64
virtual machines (VMs) and use one or more of these
virtual machines simultaneously with the hosting
operating system.
