Virginia Woolf was a British writer born in 1882 in London. She came from an influential family and was educated at home. Woolf was a member of the Bloomsbury Group and published several novels that made use of stream of consciousness as a narrative technique. Some of her most famous works include Mrs. Dalloway and To the Lighthouse. She married fellow writer Leonard Woolf and continued writing until her death by suicide in 1941.
