Advertising  through , and as a  part of  the target audience (TA) to be trusted as an “insider,” rather than advertising  to  or  at  the TA as an official or “outsider”.  Creating a concept that people will interact with and talk about. “ Will it Blend?”  ->   Series of entertaining youtube videos?  Or Blendtec’s idea of advertising?
Weaving advertisement into the media. Embedding certain products in movies, TV shows, music, blogs etc.  Advertising through seemingly “innocent” appearances of product and brand. Transformers movies no more than a series of automobile ads?
Product Placement Branded products  or services are placed in a media such as  ads ,  movies ,  television shows , or  news programs . The product may not be mention at the time when its featured.  Coca-Cola Cups
Planned Obsolescence The planned failure of a product in order to make consumers buy it again or buy a more expensive version. Manufacturing things that will only last so long, or only be so good, so that consumers will get a taste of the product and pay more than they normally would for an “update” Tom Egelhoff says “Computers are obsolete as soon as they are loaded into the car,  “ Referring to the idea that since technology is constantly advancing, people are always  having to “update” and get something better.
Often associated with the objectification of women in advertisements. Dehumanizing the “model” as an object of interest.  Sends the message that “this product will give you outstanding beauty or will surround you with outstanding beauty” Seishiro Cosmetics = you will be a post-six-hour-make-up-and-airbush Angelina Jolie? Cool Hunting Cool hunting refers to a group of marketing professionals called  coolhunters . They are used to  observe  and  predict  the changes in our culture trends.  Coolhunters are also able to control what becomes the  next big thing .
