procedure. Social case workers keep records to
document and progress of their services. There are
different types of recording are using jointly or
simultaneously because it complement each other.
Verbatim and summary records in case work is usually
employed form of recording.

5. SUMMARY RECORDING
These records are very important in situation in which long-
term, ongoing contact with a client, and a series of workers may
be involved. Summary records primarily include entry data,
sometimes social history, a plan of action and periodic
summaries of significant information and action taken by the
worker, and a statement of what was accomplished as the case
was closed (closing summary).
6. TYPES OF SUMMARY RECORDING
• Periodic summary
Made at a specific period of time
Some facts or actions are record
• Closing summary
• Summarizes the entirety of a client's involvement with a social worker
or agency.
• Client's presenting issues, goals set during the intervention, progress
made, interventions implemented, outcomes achieved, and plans for
ongoing support or referrals if necessary.

Assessment of the clients situation and the problem and the evidence on
which workers judgements or inferences are faced.
Summary outline plan
Outlining plans of action and goals of intervention ,what are the expected
outcome etc. are recording .
Summaries for purpose
Summaries for the purpose of referral ,consultation , or inter-disciplinary
conferences.
8. Verbatim recording
Verbatim is a format that is used to present interviews in a structured
way. The written Verbatim is frequently not as formal as an interview
wherein the wording of quotations must be exact, such as in a
journalistic, qualitative research, or oral-history interview. In a Verbatim
Report, the dialogue should be reported as accurately as possible, but
there can be a wide range of expectations as to the precision of that
reporting because there are different styles of Verbatim.

True verbatim
The written Verbatim is frequently not as formal as an interview where in
the wording of quotations must be exact, such as in a journalistic,
qualitative research, or oral-history interview.
verbatim transcription includes the following elements
• All filler words (e.g. uh, um, ah, etc.)
• Interjections
• Pauses
• Non-verbal communication (e.g. laughter, throat clearing, coughing, etc.)
• Ambient background noise (e.g. talking or noises from an audience)
10. Features that should not be changed or included in verbatim transcription
• Grammatically incorrect or incomplete sentences should not be
corrected or edited.
• Irrelevant noises to the audio content (e.g. thunder, police sirens,
vehicle horn, etc.) should not be included.
11. Intelligent verbatim
Here the transcriber captures the essence of what is being said while also
omitting verbal fillers, repetitions, and other non-essential elements,
resulting in a more polished and coherent transcript. It retains the
meaning and context of the conversation while making it more readable
and concise.
• All filler words, stutters, interjections, and pauses are removed.
• Affirmations and interruptions may also be excluded.
• Ambient noise, sounds, and non-verbal communication are omitted.
• Repetitive words are adjusted.
• Incomplete sentences or grammar mistakes are corrected.

13. Verbatim summary recording
Summary verbatim is the process of transforming a lengthy audio into a
short and well-structured summary that covers the most significant
content of the audio. The length of a summary transcript varies,
depending on your requirements or demands. It can be a page long or
only a paragraph long.
Summary transcription should be used to help the readers grasp the
overview content of a conference, a podcast, a video or education
materials.
