What is VR?
Virtual reality (VR) refers to the computer-generated simulation in which a
person can interact within an artificial three-dimensional environment using
special electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen or gloves fitted
with sensors.

HAND MADE VR Headset by NASA
• This handmade prototype headset is for
one of the first “virtual reality” displays
ever built.
• Developed in 1985 by Jim Humphries. It
was intended to test

company
• A virtual reality headset typically includes two small high resolution OLED or LCD
monitors
• which provide separate images for each eye for stereoscopic graphics rendering
a 3D virtual world
• a binaural audio system, positional and rotational real-time head tracking for six
degrees of movement.
• Program Languages For the Developing VR technology is C,C+,C++.
• You can sculpt, model, and paint the VR assets you create. Even if you are a
beginner, with Oculus Medium you can quickly create an immersive environment.
Oculus Medium
How It can Work
Virtual reality (VR) is a brand new user interface unlike the conventional one,
immersing a person in a digital 3D environment, instead of watching on a display.
Computer-generated imagery and content aim at simulating a real presence
through senses (hand , head, voice, hearing, touch).
Gyroscope :
• Besides sensing the angular velocity, Gyroscope sensors can also
measure the motion of the object. For more robust and accurate
motion sensing, in consumer electronics Gyroscope
sensors are combined with Accelerometer sensors.
• Depending on the direction there are three types of angular
rate measurements. Yaw- the horizontal rotation on a flat
surface when seen the object from above, Pitch- Vertical
rotation as seen the object from front, Roll- the horizontal
rotation when seen the object from front.
Cycle of Human to VR
Infrastructure OF VR
Types of VR
 Tethered virtual reality headsets
 standalone VR headsets
Tethered virtual reality headsets are currently
much more immersive than other types of VR due to the
high-quality experience they can deliver. These premium
VR headsets require a certain amount of setup space as
well as a constant cable connection to a powerful
gaming PC
EX : Oculus Rift, HTC Vive Pro, Lenovo Explorer, Samsung
Odyssey.
standalone VR headsets have built-in processors,
sensors, battery, storage memory, and displays, so they
don’t require a connection to a PC or a smartphone. That is
why users also refer to them as all-in-one VR headsets.
EX : Lenovo Mirage Solo, HTC Vive Focus, Pico Neo, Oculus
Go.
