A tutorial describing how to navigate UVic's Pre-Arrival Program

Navigating the course

2. Welcome to the University ofVictoria’s
Pre-Arrival Program!
This slideshow will provide a brief
tutorial on how to navigate the course.

3. When you first enter the
program, you’ll see two
icons: start here, and
need help.
To begin the program,
and access the activities
in the program, click
‘start here’ and
complete the Readiness
Activity.

4. Once you have completed the Readiness
Activity, you’ll see nine topics, divided into
three sections, on the main course page.

Pick and choose
Section 3:
For when you come to
campus

5. You can complete the
activities in any order,
but we do recommend
your complete the
activities within a
specific topic from top
to bottom.

6. We recommend using a larger device
such as a desktop computer, laptop or
tablet.

7. If you do choose to complete the course using
a mobile device, note that some activities will
work better in landscape view and other
activities will work better in portrait view.

8. In between activities,
be sure to exit by
returning to the main
course page.
You can exit using
either the breadcrumb
trail at the top of the
page, or the blue
sidebar on the left of
the page

9. Note that the sidebar can be hidden
or shown using the sidebar button.

10. Finished activities will
be marked with a
green checkmark.

11. Every time you
complete a topic,
you’ll receive a star.
This is to let you know
you have finished all of
the activities within
that topic.
Feel free to move on
to the next topic when
you’re ready.

12. Once you’ve
completed all four
topics in Section 1,
you’ll get access to a
final reflection activity.

13. When you finish the
final reflection
activity, you will get a
completion message.
If you haven’t already,
make sure to check
out the provided link
for the New Student
Checklist.

14. After you have received
your completion
message, you may
choose to exit the
program, or you may
choose to continue and
complete activities in
Section 2 and Section 3.
