This document discusses how Web 2.0 allows for easy collaboration and sharing of user-generated content online. It highlights that Web 2.0 tools require no downloads and can be easily mastered. Various types of Web 2.0 tools are then presented, including presentation tools, video tools, mobile tools, and community tools to facilitate online collaboration. Specific examples of popular Web 2.0 tools are provided for each category.
Some see the iPad as one more way for people to find endless distractions and entertainments, a nail in the coffin for those who seek to "amuse themselves to death." Others believe the iPad is the best exemplar to date of the possibilities for extending human abilities to learn, connect, and create via powerful portable computing devices. Either way, the iPad and its ilk deserve attention from educators considering the future of teaching and learning. This session will open a conversation about the possibilities, in the hopes of helping participants to move beyond their preconceptions and biases.
The Webwise Parents Presentations are designed to assist schools who wish to host parent internet safety evenings. The information included in the presentations covered key topics for parents including social media, screen time, cyber-bullying, image-sharing and features expert advice and support. Presentations for primary and post-primary schools can be downloaded below. Websites are all about content. People can access your content many different ways and formats with mobile devices, iPads, phones, etc. The questions are: how can we maintain control over the display of our content and keep our brand consistent? How can we try to provide the best user experience on any platform? Enter Responsive Web Design. Many experts are not leaning on one static design but on structured content that adapts to its given environment. In this talk, we are going to take a look at responsive web design techniques out there including: progressive enhancement, flexible grids, media queries, flexible images & video, & other methods of implementation.

With the launch of IU Mobile, you may be wondering how you can “get in the game” so attend this session to find out HOW you can “mobilize” some of the Web content you provide to your students and colleagues so they might be able to access it from their mobile devices while they’re on the go. If you are wondering why you should even care, attend this session to get some motivation by learning how fast the mobile market is growing and why people are changing their behavior by untethering themselves.
Adaptive Input — Breaking Development Conference, San DiegoJason Grigsby
Windows 8. Chromebook Pixel. Ubuntu Phone. These devices shatter another consensual hallucination that we web developers have bought into: mobile = touch and desktop = keyboard and mouse.
We have tablets with keyboards; laptops that become tablets; laptops with touch screens; phones with physical keyboards; and even phones that become desktop computers. Not to mention new forms of input like cameras, voice control, and sensors.
We've learned how to respond to screen size. Our next challenge is learning how to adapt to different forms of input.
CAUCE - Mobile Learning: A User Experience PerspectivePaul Hibbitts
Mobile is the new reality in the world of online learning. With a focus on user experience (UX), this session will explore how to leverage Moodle to better support anytime, anywhere learning on an ever-expanding range of mobile devices. Topics will include the fundamentals of mobile learning UX, the on-going evolution of the "mobile first" design viewpoint, and the increased importance of design for emotion. This session will also explore what open source responsive HTML frameworks, such as Twitter Bootstrap, can offer to Moodle.

What’s good for the leader is good for the team. A strong leader with weak team, just as a strong team with a weak leader are destined for failure. If the goals and direction are not clear, if the team is not focused and putting sufficient effort towards the goal, it won’t be attained. I was only as good as the teams I managed, and I’d like to think I helped some of them grow. I’ve been very fortunate to have some Superstars and strong players on my teams, but I’ve also had some that did not succeed.
Here’s a list that is not only from a leader’s perspective, but also considers the traits I observed in my Superstars. (You know who you are, too!)

Young people, in particular, have grasped the enormous capacity of the new media to foster connectedness, communication and understanding between individuals and communities, and they are turning to them as means of communicating with existing friends, of meeting new friends, of forming communities and networks, of seeking information and news, and of sharing their ideas and opinions. What does this mean for catechetical ministry?

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
