This document discusses formative and summative assessment tools for online and blended learning. It begins by defining formative assessment as occurring during learning to identify gaps, and summative assessment as measuring learning against objectives at the end. It then provides examples of popular formative assessment tools like Kahoot, GoFormative, and Nearpod that allow for interactive assessments. Examples of summative assessment tools include e-portfolios, websites, blogs, graphic design tools, presentation software, podcasting tools, and media production tools. The document encourages using rubrics to grade multimedia student work and provides online rubric makers. It concludes by asking questions about current assessment practices and how readers want to use technology for student learning assessments.
