4. Saves costs for students.
5. A learner who is curious about a subject and wants to understand more.

1. Once the pursuit of OER is begun it may be difficult to sustain that process.
2. Changing the mindset of both the public and educators.
3. Educators feel it might lessen their ownership of the intellectual property.
4. Fewer materials available in some subjects vs others.
5. Time consuming to find the appropriate material—tested and untested alike.
