Quantifying Error in Training Data for Mapping and Monitoring the Earth System - A Workshop on “Quantifying Error in Training Data for Mapping and Monitoring the Earth System” was held on January 8-9, 2019 at Clark University, with support from Omidyar Network’s Property Rights Initiative, now PlaceFund.
Signage display, which is used to convey message or information, has evolved from conventional to digital display. Conventional signage which may be hand written or printed papers are being wiped out by digital displays used by industries because of its attractive features of efficient involvement of consumers. However, extensive use of digital signage displays contributes a notable amount of power consumption (about 1000W for a 14inch × 48inch display) of a region. In this literature, we have devised a novel approach for reducing power consumption of digital signage as well as satisfying human visibility by exploiting duty cycle. Our proposed technique is capable of relinquishing a significant amount (about 14.54% in comparison with existing display system) of power consumption occurred by digital display by keeping an eye on expected human vision.

Roadside features significantly impact the frequency and severity of run-off-roadway crashes. In recent years, roadside futures data are being collected by new remote sensing technologies such as mobile LiDAR. The purpose of this study is to develop an ITS system which communicates with road users to transfer information regarding objects, slopes, and roadside conditions. The proposed ITS system uses roadside inventory data to improve drivers safety during night and other low-visibility conditions.

An effective approach to develop location-based augmented reality information...IJECEIAES
Using location-based augmented reality (AR) for pedestrian navigation can greatly improve user action to reduce the travel time. Pedestrian navigation differs in many ways from the conventional navigation system used in a car or other vehicles. A major issue with using location-based AR for navigation to a specific landmark is their quality of usability, especially if the active screen is overcrowded with the augmented POI markers which were overlap each other at the same time. This paper describes the user journey map approach that led to new insights about how users were using location-based AR for navigation. These insights led to a deep understanding of challenges that user must face when using location-based AR application for pedestrian navigation purpose, and more generally, they helped the development team to appreciate the variety of user experience in software requirement specification phase. To prove our concept, a prototype of intuitive location-based AR was built to be compared with existing standard-location based AR. The user evaluation results reveal that the overall functional requirements which are gathered from user journey have same level of success rate criteria when compared with standard location-based AR. Nevertheless, the field study participants highlighted the extended features in our prototype could significantly enhance the user action on locating the right object in particular place when compared with standard location-based AR application (proved with the required time).

This article aims to analyze the control system of mobile robots and the way robots have the ability of moving in real-world to achieve their goals. It should be noted that there are several technological directions in a mobile robot industry. It must be observed and integrated so that the robot functions properly: Navigation systems, localization systems, detection systems (sensors) along with motion and kinematics and dynamics systems. All such systems should be united through a control unit; thus, the mission or work of mobile robots are conducted with reliability.

Mobile and ubiquitous information access is now an essential issue in human-computer interaction, information retrieval, and computer-supported cooperative work.
The International Workshop on Mobile and Ubiquitous Information Access (MobileHCI) was held in Udine, Italy, on September 8, 2003. It included user interface design issues, novel interaction techniques, context-aware applications, collaborative systems, and social implications of mobile computing. They provide a snapshot of the state-of-the-art in this rapidly evolving field. They will interest researchers and practitioners in human-computer interaction, information retrieval, and computer-supported cooperative work.
The workshop was organized by Fabio Crestani, Mark Dunlop, and Stefano Mizzaro. It was in conjunction with the Ninth International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI International 2003).
(Bace et al.,2020) Part of this is that it's challenging to quantify visual attention in mobile HCI. In a recent paper, Bace et al. tried to address this challenge by quantifying how often and for how long users look at their mobile devices.
The researchers found that, on average, users look at their devices around 46 times per day. They also found that users spend more time looking at their instruments when using them for communication purposes, such as text messaging or phone calls. This suggests a need for further research into how mobile devices can be designed to capture better and hold users' attention.
The researchers also found that users look at their devices more often in a social setting, such as a meeting or a party. This suggests that mobile devices may be distracting us from our social interactions.
In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights into how we can better understand and quantify visual attention in mobile HCI.

The theme of the conference was "Experience and Reflection." This theme was reflected in the papers presented at the meeting, which covered a wide range of topics related to mobile HCI. The papers addressed user experience, design principles, interaction techniques, and evaluation methods in addition to these technical papers, keynote speeches, and panel discussions on various aspects of mobile HCI.

This paper presents City i-Tick, the android based mobile application for students’ attendance at a university. In this study, we developed mobile application for lecturers to take students’ attendance in City University, Petaling Jaya. Managing students’ attendance during lecture periods has become a difficult challenge. The research objectives for this study are to identify user requirement for City i-Tick, to design and develop City i-Tick, and to demonstrate the prototype of City i-Tick. The study is a narrative participatory design and exploits Design Thinking as the research methodology. City i-Tick was successfully validated by 14 lecturers and System Usability Scale (SUS) was used to determine the findings of the study. We found that City i-Tick is effective for lecturers in taking attendance because it is easy to use, easy to learn, and the users feel confident when using this application.
Eye(I) Still Know! – An App for the Blind Built using Web and AIDr. Amarjeet Singh
This paper proposes eye(I) still know!, a voice control solution for the visually impaired people. The main purpose is even though the blind cannot see they can still know where to go and what to do! Nearby 60% of total blind population across the world is present in India. In a time where no one likes to rely on anyone, this is a small effort to make the blind independent individuals. This can be achieved using wireless communication, voice recognition and image scanning. The application with the use of object identification will priorly inform about the barriers in the path.
The software will use the camera of the device and scan all the obstacles with their corresponding distances from the user. This will be followed by audio instructions through audio output of the device.
This will efficiently direct the user through his/her way.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

The project system begins with a Mobile Phone Apps. The Mobile Apps developed in Android Development platform in Eclipse Software for mobile users to send the Tree photos(images), GPS coordinates(x,y) and tree observation remarks(text attributes) to a web server. The web server would receive the Tree Coordinates of the users with the photos taken and the tree assessment details and store them inside the Database in the server side. After the data storage, the web server interface as a GIS Portal would present the Tree information on the GIS Web map according to the GPS Coordinates. The System overview is illustrated in Figure1.
