4. NEW ROLE IN MECHANISM
The university ombuds is impartial, acting as a neutral facilitator or mediator,
without becoming an advocate of any parties.
The university ombuds can make recommendations, organize and participate in
discussions ex officio, mediate disputes and help find constructive solutions.
The university's ombuds can make recommendations, which are not mandatory
and cannot be transmitted to other authorities.

5. PRINCIPLES
The university ombuds is an internal body of UBB that operates on the
basis of the principles of confidentiality, impartiality and independence,
being an informal support for all members of the academic community,
according to the UBB Code of Ethics and the GUIDE TO FIGHTING
DISCRIMINATION in UBB.
"Babeș-Bolyai University is committed to promoting a safe environment without
discrimination, including sexual or gender-based discrimination, harassment, sexual
violence, stalking, harassment or other related misconduct. Babeș-Bolyai University
recognizes its responsibility to raise awareness of such misconduct, to prevent their
occurrence, to support victims, to treat the alleged perpetrators fairly but firmly, as
well as to diligently investigate the reported misconduct. "

6. STANDARDS
The university ombuds of UBB subscribes to the UBB Code of Ethics and
Professional Deontology, to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) and to the standards of
the European Network of Ombudsmen in Higher Education (ENOHE).
