A- Analyze Learners

American, and 10% are Hispanic
A- Analyze Learners
Students have basic knowledge of:
0 Letter and Number recognition
0 Colors
0 Shapes
0 Easy vocabulary
0 Simple sentences
A- Analyze Learners
0 Familiar with

computers, radios, televisions, projectors, etc. in basic
uses
0 All learning styles are present
0 Students now have been introduced to the basics of
the identities of the five senses and know them due to
the previous day’s work
0 They also now know what each sense does and their
importance of each sense
0 They know how the senses are used in every day life
S- State Objective
0 My first grade class will learn the five senses and what

each sense does with 100% accuracy within four class
periods. In addition, the students will learn how each
sense is used in everyday life and why it is important.
Students will use varied types of technology such as
computers, projectors, social medias, and a Web 2.0
program.
S- Select Methods, Media, and
Materials
0 The available materials that will be used on

Wednesday include the computer and the projector.
0 The teacher will modify the classroom so that the
students’ chairs allow an easy view of the projection.
0 The teacher will also modify the lighting so that the
projection is easily visible.
0 The teacher will be the main source of verbal
information and will simply use these materials and
media as tools to help
S- Select Methods, Media, and
Materials
0 New materials that will be designed for this Unit

include a Web 2.0 program, the ideas found off on
Pinterest, and Facebook.
U- Utilize Media and Materials
0 Preview the projections from the computer to ensure the

image is visible and of good quality
0 Ask the students if everyone can easily view the screen
0 The teacher should ensure that everyone can hear her
when she talks and instructs and whether or not she needs
to adjust her volume
0 Make sure that there is successful access to
Pinterest, , Facebook, and Tumblr (the chosen Web 2.0).
0 Organize and make sure that you have all the materials
needed for the assignment you choose on Pinterest
R- Require Learner
Participation
0 The teacher will begin Wednesday’s class by

introducing the three tools that will be used in
exploring the five senses.
0 The teacher will begin by showing the students the
class Facebook page.
0 This page will keep track of all the posts that are
linked to this page such as Blogger (which is updated
with the daily events) and the pins that will be chosen
on Pinterest
0 Parents can view this page to ask questions and view
what is being accomplished in class.
This is the class Facebook
page that will be used!
R- Require Learner
Participation
0 The teacher will then discuss the Pinterest Board the

class will use to get the assignment from.
0 Once on Pinterest, the students will work in groups
sorting bells, cotton balls, strawberries/grapes, a glass
prism, and a minty herb on a piece of paper that has
five circles with each sense written in its own circle.
0 The teacher will re-pin this assignment which will
post it on Facebook for parents to view.

Participation
0 The teacher will end that assignment and move onto

the next assignment and review. Tumblr is a Web 2.0
program, the teacher will use it to review and sum up
Wednesday’s class.
0 Tumblr is a form of a blog that the teacher will use to
find images that are all based on the same topic (the
five senses).
Evaluate and Revise
0 The students will be evaluated in multiple ways on the

third day of the unit. They will be evaluated based on
their participation, their interest, and their behavior
and manners.
0 The students will also be evaluated based on their
success in matching the correct item with the correct
sense in the Pinterest assignment
0 Students should know the five senses by now
