Analyze the Learner
• 9th grade advanced level World History class
• 60% are female, 40% are male
• The class is predominately white with one biracial student who is a
male
• No learning disabilities that are recorded
• Age range is 14-15 years old
Main Objective
• I will demonstrate to the students the history, myths and powers of
the Greek Gods and Goddesses with a PowerPoint, lecture and a
video about the Gods/Goddesses
-12 main Gods and Goddesses of Olympus
- Father and Mother of these Gods/Goddesses
• Monday-Wednesday Gods/Goddess discussion
• Thursday chose their favorite God/Goddess & in then go into small
groups and start on their 5 minute plays
• Present 5 minute plays as acting like the different Gods/Goddesses
• The students should be able to identify the Gods/Goddess with a 85%
accuracy.
Day by Day Breakdown
• Day 1; discuss mythical creation of Gods/Goddesses and discuss 4 of
the main 12 and watch part of video
• Day 2; Discuss 4 more Gods/Goddesses, more of video
• Day 3; Discuss last 4 Gods/Goddesses, and last of video
• Day 4; Have children chose their favorite God/Goddess, get
themselves into groups of 3 or 4 & start making up plays for the class
• Day 5; Presentations of five minute plays in front of the whole class
Use of Technology
• Instructor will use a PowerPoint presentation, notes and a video to
discuss the Gods/Goddesses with the students
• Students will use whatever form of media they want for 5 minute
plays;
• PowerPoint
• Poster
• Pictures
• Video
• Scripts
• Costumes

Unit plan

  • 1.
  • 2. Analyze the Learner • 9th grade advanced level World History class • 60% are female, 40% are male • The class is predominately white with one biracial student who is a male • No learning disabilities that are recorded • Age range is 14-15 years old
  • 3. Main Objective • I will demonstrate to the students the history, myths and powers of the Greek Gods and Goddesses with a PowerPoint, lecture and a video about the Gods/Goddesses -12 main Gods and Goddesses of Olympus - Father and Mother of these Gods/Goddesses • Monday-Wednesday Gods/Goddess discussion • Thursday chose their favorite God/Goddess & in then go into small groups and start on their 5 minute plays • Present 5 minute plays as acting like the different Gods/Goddesses • The students should be able to identify the Gods/Goddess with a 85% accuracy.
  • 4. Day by Day Breakdown • Day 1; discuss mythical creation of Gods/Goddesses and discuss 4 of the main 12 and watch part of video • Day 2; Discuss 4 more Gods/Goddesses, more of video • Day 3; Discuss last 4 Gods/Goddesses, and last of video • Day 4; Have children chose their favorite God/Goddess, get themselves into groups of 3 or 4 & start making up plays for the class • Day 5; Presentations of five minute plays in front of the whole class
  • 5. Use of Technology • Instructor will use a PowerPoint presentation, notes and a video to discuss the Gods/Goddesses with the students • Students will use whatever form of media they want for 5 minute plays; • PowerPoint • Poster • Pictures • Video • Scripts • Costumes
