Tutor Guidance 
1. Explain the unit outcomes and check understanding. 
2. Present students with unit assessments and processes for submission. 
3. Utilise the PowerPoint to support lesson delivery, and student understanding. 
4. Allow for students to record lesson information to support them in their assessment. 
5. Consolidate after each lesson. 
6. Link theory lesson outcomes with practical delivery. 
7. Consolidate and link the practical and theory aspects with the unit outcomes and assessment. 
8. Utilise any and all resources to support and deliver the unit outcomes for example – quizzes, 
risk assessments, health and safety checklist, injuries in football, video clips.

Student Guidance 
1. Review the unit standards, on Blackboard. 
2. Access unit assessment from Blackboard. 
3. Save assessment in your documents. 
4. Take part within group discussions. 
5. Record notes/ findings from both practical and theory lessons. 
6. Ask questions, to establish understanding. 
7. Take active role within practical lessons. 
8. Clear submission date and procedure. 
9. Clearly read the assessment requirements for example, prepare a presentation, write a report, 
produce a leaflet.

Unit aim 
This unit covers the knowledge that employees in the Active Leisure and Learning sector require 
concerning: 
• the Active Leisure and Learning Sector 
• the subsectors that make up Active Leisure and Learning 
• information about the subsector in which the learner works 
• career opportunities 
Learning outcomes 
There are three outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to: 
214.1: Know the key features of the Active Leisure and Learning sector 
214.2: Know the key features of the Active Leisure and Learning subsector in which they work 
214.3: Know employment and career opportunities in the Active Leisure and Learning subsector 
which they work 
Guided learning hours 
It is recommended that 15 hours should be allocated for this unit. This may be on a full-time or parttime 
basis.

PART TIME HOURLY PAID FOOTBALL COACH 
JOB TITLE : Part time football coach 
1 - CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT 
Start Date on 5th September 2012. 
2 – DUTIES 
2.1 You will carry out your duties under the reasonable direction of the Director, Regional Manager & Coordinator 
2.2 You are employed as a Football Coach and your duties will be as set out in the job description given to you specifying the particular 
tasks of you 
2.3 From time to time your duties may be changed as the requirements of the job change, provided that the changed duties are 
consistent with the function of a football coach and take account of your qualifications and experience. Such changes will only be made 
after consultation with you 
3 – WORKING TIME 
3.1 Working Hours 
Tuesday 3:30pm – 4:30pm 
Wednesday 3:30pm – 5:30pm 
Thursday 4:30pm – 5:30pm 
Friday 3:30pm – 5:30pm 
Saturday 10am – 1pm 
4 – LEAVE 
4.1 You are not entitled to any paid leave under this contract. 
4.2 You may take time off term time, subject to at least 2 week’s notice 
4.3 Time off is under the discretion of the Director 
5 – PLACE OF WORK 
5.1 Your place of work will vary and can change from day to day 
6 – SALARY 
6.1 The hourly rate is £8.00 p/hour for Level 1 coaches and £12.00 p/hour for Level 2 coaches and above term time

  • 1. Unit 214 Understanding the active leisure and learning sector Tutor Guidance 1. Explain the unit outcomes and check understanding. 2. Present students with unit assessments and processes for submission. 3. Utilise the PowerPoint to support lesson delivery, and student understanding. 4. Allow for students to record lesson information to support them in their assessment. 5. Consolidate after each lesson. 6. Link theory lesson outcomes with practical delivery. 7. Consolidate and link the practical and theory aspects with the unit outcomes and assessment. 8. Utilise any and all resources to support and deliver the unit outcomes for example – quizzes, risk assessments, health and safety checklist, injuries in football, video clips.
