2. What am I adapting?
I am adapting a free roam, fantasy role play game
called Skyrim produced on Xbox, Play Station and pc
into a TV series.
In this game your character is the dragon born and
must save Skyrim by killing the dragons and sealing
them back into their tombs.
Within the TV series the main quest will be a major
part of the story however it will also included some
side quests some of which the character has to
make morale decisions that effect if people
help him and how the story plays out.
3. Genre
This is an adventure, fantasy, thriller, drama and
an action so it appeals to a variety of audiences
however it is mainly a fantasy because its based
off a fantasy RPG. This is keeping within the
origins to the original game and sticking with the
theme so that it will captivate the same
audience.
4. Narrative
The opening sequence is Jord with a bad cut down the side of his face in the back of a wagon with
multiple others. They are in a escort of imperial horsemen going through the forest. As they approach
the fort one of the other prisoners seems to have slipped out of the chains he dives out of the wagon
and runs away into the mist. None of the soldiers react as the convoy continues we hear a horseman
approaching and as it passes the dead body of the prisoner is hung over the back of the horse and
thrown back onto the wagon. As they reach the old fort the large wooden gates a call is hear and the
gates open. Behind them we see a large tower and in front of the tower a stump of wood manned by a
large man with his face covered with a executioners mask wielding a large axe. along the inner wall
was another wagon with more prisoners and also a cart leaving with a dozen headless bodies. The
executor points in Jords direction, two soldiers come towards his direction. They walk straight past and
grab the man three meters behind him. He is dragged screaming to the stump until the axe falls. He
then points to a tall man with multiple scars and a I cut into his right bicep. As the soldiers approach he
kicks one and head butts the other but before he can continue he is knocked to the floor by two
guards that were behind. As the hit soldiers get up they beat him on the floor until a commander head
he commotion and comes outside. They stop it and realise who it is. It is Ulfric Stromclock, leader of
the storm clocks. The commander states I will do this my self and bring his head to solitude. He grabs
the axe and starts walking towards Ulfric. He says any last words and Ulfric spits in his face and says
the Nords will never die. Suddenly there is a huge raw and a huge bang as a bolder is thrown from the
mountain destroying the gate. Another flying and another as the fort is thrown into chaos. Ulfic spears
a guard and takes his weapon cutting himself free. Jord sees the commander go to kill Ulfric from
behind and he runs and knocks him to the ground where Ulfric realises and finishes him. He cuts Jord
free and they sprint towards the stables. The other prisoners were also fighting a huge ball of fire
engulfs the rubble of the tower and the executioner that was chasing them. They reach the stables and
bolt out of the fort. All that is seen is smoke in the back ground over the top of the trees as they ride
away.
6. Target Audience
Primary target audience – The primary target audience would be fans
of the original Skyrim game. The game was aimed at males aged 15-25
and these people would also be interested to watch the TV series.
Secondary target audience – This would be girl gamers who also
enjoyed the game. They would also be aged 15-25 who enjoy fantasy
RPG games however whereas in the game they can play as a woman
character the main character in the series will be a male supported by
strong woman characters.
Additional audiences – An additional audience would be fans of the
fantasy genre and also people who liked similar TV shows and films
such as LOTR and Game of Thrones. These would be
most likely adults ages 35-45 who want to escape
from their 9-5 jobs on the evening.
7. Cinematic Ideas
• I plan to use long sweeping shots with a frosty
filter to make it appear colder than it is. Also
this will create an effect similar to the game.
Another aspect from the game is I intend to
have so POV shots where you see exactly what
the main character would see however I will
use other shots so it is easier for the audience
to understand and also see things the
character wouldn't’t.
