What films influenced us to do a horror? Parisse Charles
The Ring (2002) The Ring is a 2002 American psychologicalhorror film directed by Gore Verbinski, starring Naomi Watts, Daveigh Chase, and MartinHenderson. It is a remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film Ringu. Plot: A young journalist must investigate amysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone in a week of viewing it.
Influences from the Ring The Ring influenced our decision to do a horror,as the antagonist in the film, had the stereotypical look of how we wanted our antagonist to look(dark hair, pale and black hollow eye sockets), she was also small which is also where we got our idea from to use a small person for our character. We also felt that the film had lots of suspension and tense moments, which is what we wanted in our film, and wanted our audience to feel that.
The Grudge (2004)The Grudge is a 2004 American supernatural horror film, and is the first instalment in the American horror film series of the same name. It is a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge. Plot: An American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.
Influences from ‘The Grudge’The grudge also has a scary little girl like ‘TheRing’. And there are many jumpy scenes in the grudge, thats where we got the influence ofthe scary girl popping up unexpectedly on the victim .(Aaliyah)
