2. Adaptation
I will be adapting the Kane and Lynch: Dead men game
into a feature film which will have a huge budget since
it will be made in America. The main reason on why I
am making this adaption is the fact that I enjoyed
playing the Kane and Lynch: Dead Men and another
reason is the fact that the film was going to be made
before but then it got cancelled therefore I thought I
could make this into a film.

3. Genre & Narrative
Genre: Action
Sub-genre: Thriller
Narrative: The equilibrium of the story is when Kane and Lynch are in their
prison cells and are about to go to get killed since they are on death row. The
disruption of the story is when Kane and Lynch get broken out and Kane finds
out that a gang has got his daughter and wife and if he wants to save them he
has to give them the money that they think that he stole from the gang. The
recognition of the disruption is when Kane knows that he didn’t steal the
money so he has to go after the people that actually stole the money to save
his family but then his wife gets killed. The attempt to repair the disruption is
when Kane and Lynch hire mercenaries to fight against the gang to get his
daughter back. The re-equilibrium of the story is when Kane and Lynch get
Kane’s daughter back but she is unconscious and the mercenaries that they
hired have either left or have been killed and right at the end Kane starts
reading the letter that he wrote for his daughter.

4. Constraints
There are some constraints that might get in my way to make my adaptation
successful overall, the first constraint that worries me is the fact that the film
was going to be made before then it got cancelled since it was delayed and the
film started to lose popularity meaning that not loads of people might of gone
and watched it when it came out, this is a constraint because people will see that
someone else is trying to make a 'Kane & Lynch' film and they might think that
this film will be delayed and cancelled like the pervious one. The next constraint
that concerns me is that hiring out a prison might be difficult meaning that I
won't be able to do my first scene meaning that I might have to do all of this in
green screen which might take time and I have no idea what the end will look like
therefore I will make a contingency plan if I don't get a prison I will be able to use
the green screen to film the scene. Another constraint that might effect making
the adaptation successful is that the budget might be too small to make
everything look very good for example, the CGI will cost a lot of money since I
will have to CGI loads of different explosions and other things to make the film
look realistic.

5. Opportunities
An opportunity that I have to make the adaption better is that CGI has improved
loads over the years which make the CGI look very realistic meaning that I am
able to do loads of different things with CGI but it will cost a lot of money. Also
another opportunity is that people who liked playing the game "Kane & Lynch:
Dead Men" would probably go and watch the film because they might have many
good memories from playing the game which then can lead to the person who
watched the film to tell their friends and family making the film reach an wider
audience. Another opportunity that will help me make the adaptation successful
is that technology has improved loads over the years since the game was released
meaning that I will be able to do a lot more stuff with the film to make it better
overall. Another opportunity that is available for me is to speak to the community
that actually liked playing the game and get their input on how to make the film
better overall and then I will be able to develop my story.

Spending Power: Might have a budget on how much they can spend.
Socio-economic grouping: D,C2 & C1
Interests: Action films, followers of the game.
Secondary Target Audience –
Ages: 25 - 35
Gender: Females
Lifestyle: People who like to go out with their friends to have fun.
Spending Power: Higher spending power.
Socio-economic grouping: C2, C1 & B
Interests: Action films also might be followers of the game so they wanted to watch the
film. Also they might find interest in the actors within the film.

7. Cinematic Ideas
Editing - The cinematic ideas that I have for my film is that I want the film is be
fasted paced editing since it is going to be an action film.
Costumes - The costumes that Kane and Lynch will wear is black suits since they
want to look professional while they are doing their job. Other mercenaries that
are hired by Kane and Lynch will also be wearing suits but other characters within
the film will have jeans etc. but all of the gang members will have a purple masks
on.
Lighting - The lighting throughout the film will be darkish since I want the film to
be dark and cold because Kane’s wife and daughter are killed and the wife gets
killed later on in the film.
Camera – The film will have loads of mid/two-shots and some close ups since the
film is going to be an action film I will want to see the two main characters
together. Also since it is an action film, you will loads of fighting etc. meaning that
I will have some wide shots to show the fighting.
